Definitions
- the present invention relates to a folding children's carriage, which comprises a folding structure that occupies a small space and that allows it to be folded without having to uncouple the seat or carrycot of the children's carriage.
- a first type of folding children's cart is called umbrella type, in which the sides of the cart move closer to each other towards the center when folded. To do this, these carts comprise an X-shaped joint to allow this folding.
- folding is done by turning the handlebars forward, so that it is folded over a central body of its folding structure.
- This type of folding trolleys have the advantage that its length is reduced, although it is limited to the length of the handlebar, even when its upper end is also foldable.
- the children's carriage described in this document comprises a folding structure formed by a central body, in this case in the form of a bar, on which the handlebar and the rear wheels are folded.
- the articulation between the handlebar and said central body is realized, on each side, by a pair of articulated bars, which are connected to each other and to the handlebar, so that there are two points of articulation, indicated with references 26 and 27 between said articulated bars and handlebars.
- some of said bars must slide forward along the central body to allow folding of the cart, as can be seen by comparing Figures 3 and 4.
- a problem with this folding children's cart is the complexity of its folding structure, which includes curved bars and a joint center located at the rear of said central body.
- the length thereof in said position is limited by the length of the handlebar, since although a part thereof is foldable , it protrudes from the length defined by said central body.
- the folding children's carriage of the present invention comprises a folding structure that includes:
- a handlebar also articulated to said central body by means of a first articulated bars and by means of second articulated bars,
- first and second articulation bars are rotatably connected to articulation bodies, one on each side of the cart, to which said handlebar is also rotatably attached.
- said second articulation bars are aligned with said handlebar in the deployed position of the children's carriage.
- each articulation body comprises a first axis of rotation for said first articulated bars, a second axis of rotation for said second articulated bars and a third axis of rotation for said handlebar.
- said central body has a substantially rectangular contour.
- said handlebar comprises a foldable upper part.
- said second articulated bars are articulated with said central body in a position closer to the front wheels than to the rear wheels, allowing the handlebar to not protrude from said central body in its folded position.
- said rear wheel support comprises a pair of bars whose upper end extends above said central body, said support bars being articulated to the central body at an intermediate point between the rear wheels and their upper end.
- said front wheels do not substantially protrude from the length defined by said central body.
- the lower ends of said handlebar are located two articulation bodies, each provided with three axes of rotation, a first axis of rotation for the upper end of the first articulated bar, a second axis of rotation for the end upper of the second articulated bar and a third axis of rotation for a lower end of said handlebar.
- the length of the children's carriage in its folded position is not defined by the handlebar, but by the length of the central body, on which the handlebar and the rear wheel support are folded;
- the rear and front wheels are located within the length defined by said central body, since the rear wheels fold completely inwards thanks to their support and the front wheels do not protrude from said central body at any time, even during use normal cart;
- the folding of the children's car of the present invention can be carried out even with a carrycot or seat attached to said car, thanks to the design of the folding structure, in which all its elements fold over the central body without occupying the area occupied by said carrycot or seat.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the folding infant carriage of the present invention in its normal position of use or deployed;
- Figure 2 is a perspective view of the folding infant carriage of the present invention during folding, in an intermediate position between its use position and its folded position;
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of the foldable children's carriage of the present invention in its folded position.
- the folding children's cart comprises a folding structure.
- Said folding structure comprises a central body 1, a support 3 for the rear wheels 4, a handlebar 5 and a first 6 and second 7 articulated bars, as will be described in more detail below.
- the central body 1 is of substantially rectangular profile and is located in its position of use in a slightly inclined position, as can be seen in Figure 1, so that the rear part is slightly higher than the front part.
- Said central body 1 comprises two front wheels 2, which do not protrude frontally from said central body 1 in any of the cart positions, neither in the use position nor in the folded position.
- the support 3 for the rear wheels 4 is formed by a pair of vertical connecting bars with said central body 1 and a crossbar connecting said two rear wheels 4.
- the upper end of said connecting bars with the central body 1 extend above said central body 1, that is, the articulated joint between said bars and the central body 1 is carried out at a midpoint of the bars, and not at their ends.
- the handlebar 5 is formed by an inverted U-shaped body and is connected to the central body 1 by means of articulated bars 6 and 7, as will be explained below.
- said handlebar 5 there are two articulation bodies 8, each provided with three axes of rotation, a first axis of rotation 9 for the upper end of the first articulated bar 6, a second axis of rotation 10 for the upper end of the second articulated bar 7 and a third axis of rotation 1 1 for a lower end of said handlebar 5.
- the lower ends of the first articulated bars 6 are rotatably connected with the upper end of said bars of the support 3 for the rear wheels 4 by means of two connecting elements 12 having two rotation axes, one for the end lower of the first articulated bar 6 and another for the upper end of one of said bars of the support 3.
- the lower end of said second articulated bars 7 are rotatably connected to said central body 1 in a position close to said front wheels 2, that is, closer to the front wheels 2 than to the rear wheels 4.
- the insurance must first be unlocked, which must be present for safety reasons in accordance with current regulations as usual in all folding carts.
- the handlebar 5 with a folded upper part 5a is turned forward, which will in turn cause the first and second bars to rotate articulated 6 and 7 and of the support 3 of the rear wheels 4 towards the central body 1, as can be seen by the arrows shown in figure 2.
- FIG 3 the children's carriage of the present invention is shown in its folded position, where it can be seen that the length of the folded baby carriage is determined by the length of the central body 1, without the handlebar protruding 5.
