Definitions

  • Invention refers to a motor vehicle light regulating assembly and belongs to vehicles, namely to vehicle lights, which are adjustable with mechanical means.
  • the purpose of the invention is to create such motor vehicle light regulating assembly, by which potential overloading of each exposed components of the regulating assembly as such by turning a regulating spindle in one direction or optionally in both directions could be eliminated by means of limiting a torque, by which also reliability of adjusting a reflector within a light casing could be improved, and at the same time, such assembly should consist of components, which could be simply manufactured and should also be universally applicable in various lights which may be used in various vehicles.
  • Respective light essentially consists of a casing, in which a light source is inserted together with a belonging reflector. Said casing can be in each desired position mounted into each desired vehicle.
  • each appropriate position of the reflector needs to be adjusted as soon as the light is mounted into each vehicle, and when needed also subsequently during the use, so that the reflector is then capable to collect and to redirect light beams towards said area in front of the vehicle.
  • Each position of the reflector can generally be adjusted by means of a regulating screw, which is with the possibility of rotating embedded within the casing, as well as of a spindle, which is interconnected with the reflector.
  • Said screw is furnished with a gear, which is adapted to cooperate with a gear, which is available on said spindle, which extends throughout a nut or threaded bush, which is formed within the casing or integrally therewith.
  • torque is transmitted via said gears on the spindle, which is embedded within said bush and is therefore axially displaced, which thanks to its interconnection with the reflector results in displacement or pivoting of the reflector in one or another direction, respectively.
  • the thread on said spindle and said bush is usually a fine metric thread, wherein a competitive manufacturing technology of vehicle light is based on a mass production of lights, wherein also the majority components, where possible, consist of materials on the basis of thermoplastic polymers.
  • Components can be definitively manufactured within each defined tolerances, but subsequent changes of dimensions and the shape of said components due to the nature of polymers may often occur due to releasing of residual tensions and other phenomena.
  • the torque required for turning the spindle and adjusting each position of the reflector may also vary, and on the other hand also the components of such regulating assembly are deformed in various manners. It happens that a relatively high torque must be available for the purposes of displacing the reflector, which then results not only in displacement of said reflector but also in increasing of loadings and stresses within certain components, which are then essentially deformed. Even when each desired position of the reflector has already been adjusted, said releasing of tensions and deformation of components may occur in the regulating assembly as such, by which the adjusted position of the reflector is changing in an uncontrolled manner. When modern screwing tools are used, such problems are still multiplied.
