- the central portion of the antenna coil 11a formed on the antenna substrate 11 is arranged so that the magnetic sheet 13 is positioned closer to the reader / writer 120 side than the antenna coil 11a on the inner peripheral wall 131a side of 131. 11c.

- evaluation is performed using the communication characteristics of the antenna module 1b among the four types of antenna modules having different antenna structures as described above. This is because the antenna module 1b can efficiently draw the magnetic field generated around the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a into the antenna coil 11a as compared with the other antenna modules 1a, 1c, and 1d. This is because 13 is arranged.
- the concrete evaluation conditions were as follows. That is, the antenna 121 of the reader / writer 120 is a two-turn coil having an outer shape defined in the xy-axis direction of 66 mm ⁇ 100 mm. Further, the metal plate 133a was made of stainless steel having dimensions defined in the xyz axis direction of 100 mm ⁇ 50 mm ⁇ 0.3 mm.
- the antenna coil 11a of the antenna module 1b has a structure in which an outer shape defined in the xy-axis direction is 40 mm ⁇ 10 mm, and is a four-turn coil. Further, the distance from the surface of the metal plate 133a to the surface of the antenna coil 11a, defined in the z-axis direction, was 1 mm.
- a is a distance defined in the y-axis direction from the central portion 133c of the metal plate 133a to the end portion 11d on the inner peripheral wall 131a side of the antenna substrate 11.
- FIG. 8 shows a change in the coupling coefficient of the antenna coil 11a
- FIG. 9 shows a change in the Q value when the value of a is changed from 15 mm to 40 mm under the above conditions.
- the width of the metal plate 133a is 50 mm, when the value of a is 25 mm, the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a and the end portion 11d of the antenna coil 11a on the inner peripheral wall 131a side coincide with each other. Further, since the width of the antenna coil 11a is 10 mm, when the value of a is 35 mm, the end 11e on the metal plate 133a side of the antenna coil 11a coincides with the end 133b of the metal plate 133a.
- the coupling coefficient is the highest and the value of a is 30 mm when the center portion 11c of the antenna substrate 11 and the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a substantially coincide. Decreases as you leave. Further, when the value of a is 25 mm or 35 mm, the coupling coefficient exhibits almost the same characteristics.
- the reason why the coupling coefficient is high when the antenna coil 11a is arranged in the vicinity of the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a is that the magnetic flux density is high around the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a.
- the metal plate 133a receives a magnetic field transmitted from the reader / writer 120 and generates eddy current. However, the end 133b has a higher magnetic field strength than the central portion 133c, and the metal plate 133a has received from the reader / writer 120. This is because magnetic energy can be efficiently transmitted to the antenna coil 11a side.
- the coupling coefficient is reduced in both cases, but when the value of a is larger than 35 mm, The decrease of the coupling coefficient is small with respect to the change in the value of. For example, when the values of a are 22 mm and 38 mm, the coupling coefficient is higher by about 20% when the value of a is 38 mm. Further, when the values of a are 20 mm and 40 mm, the coupling coefficient is higher by about 40% when the value of a is 40 mm.
- the Q value monotonously increases as the antenna coil 11a moves away from the metal plate 133a.
- the value of a is larger than 35 mm, that is, the antenna coil 11a is moved to the metal plate 133a.
- the Q value increases rapidly.
- the metal plate 133a receives a magnetic field generated by the current flowing through the antenna coil 11a and is converted into thermal energy, and as a result, the antenna coil 11a This is because the resistance value is apparently small.
- the center portion 11c of the antenna substrate 11 and the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a need to be substantially coincident with each other, but in order to obtain good communication characteristics, it is high. It is necessary to achieve both a coupling coefficient and a high Q value. Therefore, it is particularly preferable that the antenna coil 11a is disposed in the vicinity of the metal plate 133a and at a position that does not overlap with the metal plate 133a from the viewpoint of achieving both a high coupling coefficient and a high Q value. Communication characteristics can be obtained.
- the antenna module 1b and the antenna modules 1a, 1c, and 1d according to the present embodiment are wound around the gap 132 so that the antenna coil 11a does not surround the outer peripheral portion of the metal plate 133a.

- the antenna module 1b and the antenna modules 1a, 1c, and 1d according to the present embodiment can realize good communication characteristics by using the magnetic characteristics of the metal plate 133a facing the reader / writer 120.
- the antenna modules 1b, 1c, and 1d have the end 11e on the metal plate 133a side of the antenna substrate 11 as shown in FIG.
- a magnetic sheet 134 is provided so as to overlap the metal plate 133 a so that the metal plate 133 a does not rebound the magnetic field from the reader / writer 120.
- the angle at which the antenna substrate 11 is inclined with respect to the surface xy facing the reader / writer 120 is defined as ⁇ with the end 11e on the metal plate 133a side as the central axis.
- the antenna 121 of the reader / writer 120 is a two-turn coil having an outer shape of 66 mm ⁇ 100 mm.
- the metal plate 133a was an aluminum plate whose outer shape defined in the xyz axis direction was 60 mm ⁇ 45 mm ⁇ 5 mm.
- the antenna coil 11a has a structure in which the outer shape defined in the xy-axis direction is 40 mm ⁇ 5 mm and the magnetic sheet 13 is inserted into the center portion 11c, and a four-turn coil is used. Furthermore, the distance from the surface of the metal plate 133a to the end 11e of the antenna coil 11a, defined in the z-axis direction, was 1 mm. The distance from the end portion 133b of the metal plate 133a to the end portion 11e of the antenna coil 11a, which is defined in the y-axis direction, was 2.5 mm.
- FIG. 11 shows the coupling coefficient of “width: 1 / cos ⁇ ” when changed to be / cos ⁇ .
- the coupling coefficient can be improved by tilting the tilt angle ⁇ from 0 degree.
- width constant
- the characteristics are highest at an angle of 25 to 30 degrees.

- the antenna coil 11a has the width of the antenna coil 11a as large as possible within a range that can be accommodated in the gap 132 when the antenna substrate 11 is tilted at the tilt angle ⁇ .
- an angle of about 45 degrees is particularly suitable from the viewpoint of effectively using the space of the gap 132. .
- FIG. 12 shows the characteristics of the coupling coefficient when the shape of the antenna substrate 11 is made constant under the above evaluation conditions, and the antenna coil 11a has the antenna modules 1b, 1c, and 1d. .
- the antenna coil 11a according to the antenna module 1b has the highest characteristics at an angle of 25 to 30 degrees, whereas the antenna coil 11a according to the antenna modules 1c and 1d is inclined at 45 degrees or more. The characteristic becomes the highest when
- the thickness of the gap 132 defined in the z-axis direction is limited from the viewpoint of reducing the thickness.
- the antenna module 1b is suitable from the viewpoint of effectively utilizing the space of the gap 132.
- the antenna modules 1b, 1c, and 1d are disposed so as to be inclined with respect to the surface xy facing the reader / writer 120, with the end portion 11e of the antenna substrate 11 on the metal plate 133a side as the central axis.

- This magnetic sheet 234 is superimposed on the metal plate 133a as described above in order to prevent the magnetic plate 133a from bouncing off the magnetic field from the reader / writer 120, but further, in order to efficiently draw the magnetic field into the antenna coil 11a, As shown in FIG. 13B, the end 234a on the antenna coil 11a side extends to the antenna coil 11a side so as not to overlap the surface of the antenna coil 11a that faces the reader / writer 120 that faces the reader / writer 120.
- the reason why the magnetic sheet 234 is not superimposed on the surface of the antenna coil 11a facing the reader / writer 120 is that it is not preferable to superimpose the magnetic sheet 234 because the magnetic field received by the antenna coil 11a is suppressed. is there.
