Abstract
【課題】立体視画像を表示するための放射線画像を取得するに際し、装置のコストを低減する。 【解決手段】このために、乳房画像撮影表示システム(1)を、乳房画像撮影装置(10)と、乳房画像撮影装置(10)に接続されたコンソールPC(8)と、コンソールPC(8)に接続されたモニタ(9)および入力部(7)と、コンソールPC(8)に接続されたノートPC(40)とから構成する。装置(10)において取得されたステレオ画像を表示するための放射線画像は、取得された順にノートPC(40)に送信される。ノートPC(40)においては、まず2次元の放射線画像が表示され、ステレオ画像を表示するための放射線画像が揃うとステレオ画像が表示される。
Description
本発明は、異なる複数の方向から被検体を撮影して複数の放射線画像を取得する放射線画像撮影システムおよびその制御方法に関するものである。
従来、複数の画像を組み合せて表示することにより、視差を利用して立体視できることが知られている。このような立体視できる画像(以下、立体視画像またはステレオ画像という)は、同一の被写体を異なる方向から撮影して取得された複数の画像から生成される。
一方、このような立体視画像は、デジタルカメラやテレビ等の分野だけでなく、放射線画像撮影の分野においても利用されており、放射線画像の立体視画像を取得するための放射線画像撮影装置が提案されている(例えば特許文献1参照)。このような放射線画像撮影装置においては、被検体に対して異なる撮影方向から放射線を照射し、その被検体を透過した放射線を放射線検出器によりそれぞれ検出して複数の放射線画像を取得し、これらの放射線画像を用いて立体視画像が表示される。このような立体視画像を用いることにより、奥行き感のある放射線画像を観察することができるため、診断をより行いやすくすることができる。
また、病院の検査では病変周辺の組織片を採取することがあるが、近年、患者に大きな負担をかけずに組織片を採取する方法として、中が空洞の組織採取用の針(以下、生検針と称する)を患者に刺し、針の空洞に埋め込まれた組織を採取するバイオプシが注目されている。そして、このようなバイオプシを行うための装置としてステレオバイオプシ装置が提案されている(特許文献2,3参照)。
このステレオバイオプシ装置は、被検体の立体視画像を観察しながら病変の3次元的な位置を特定することができ、生検針の先端をその特定位置に到達するよう制御することによって所望の位置から組織片を採取することができるものである。
ところで、立体視画像を取得するための放射線画像撮影装置においては、立体視画像を表示するための3次元モニタが必要となる。とくに、上述したステレオバイオプシ装置は、3次元表示された画像を観察しながら組織片を算出するものであるため、立体視画像を表示可能な3次元モニタが不可欠である。さらに、3次元モニタは病変等の異常陰影を見落とさないように医療用の高解像度のものである必要がある。しかしながら、医療用の高解像度のモニタは非常に高価であるため、3次元モニタを用意することにより、装置のコストが高くなってしまうという問題がある。
また、既存の放射線画像撮影装置を生かしつつステレオバイオプシを行うためには、装置に3次元モニタを接続する必要がある。しかしながら、3次元モニタを接続することにより、装置での処理を行うソフトウェアを大幅に変更する必要があるため、そのためのコストも必要となるという問題がある。
また、ステレオバイオプシを行う場合、複数回の撮影を行う間、被検体を撮影台に固定しておく必要があるため患者の負担が大きい。したがって、患者の負担を少しでも減らすためには、組織片の採取を迅速に終わらせる必要がある。
また、ステレオバイオプシを行うために使用した立体視画像は、組織片の採取中のみならず、患者への説明にも使用できることが好ましい。
本発明は上記事情に鑑みなされたものであり、立体視画像を表示するための放射線画像を取得するに際し、装置のコストを低減することを目的とする。
本発明による放射線画像撮影システムは、所定の輻輳角となる2方向から被検体を撮影することにより、立体視画像を表示するための2つの放射線画像を取得可能な撮影手段と、2つの放射線画像を取得するよう撮影手段を制御する第1の制御手段とを有する撮影装置、および
撮影装置に接続された可搬型の処理装置であって、立体視画像を表示可能な表示手段と、立体視画像を表示手段に表示する制御を行う第2の制御手段とを有する処理装置を備え、
第1の制御手段は、2つの放射線画像を取得した順に処理装置に送信する手段であり、
第2の制御手段は、2つの放射線画像のうち、先に送信された放射線画像を表示手段に表示し、2つの放射線画像の送信がなされると立体視画像を表示手段に表示する手段であることを特徴とするものである。
撮影装置に接続された可搬型の処理装置であって、立体視画像を表示可能な表示手段と、立体視画像を表示手段に表示する制御を行う第2の制御手段とを有する処理装置を備え、
第1の制御手段は、2つの放射線画像を取得した順に処理装置に送信する手段であり、
第2の制御手段は、2つの放射線画像のうち、先に送信された放射線画像を表示手段に表示し、2つの放射線画像の送信がなされると立体視画像を表示手段に表示する手段であることを特徴とするものである。
撮影装置と処理装置との接続は、有線であっても無線であってもよい。
なお、本発明による放射線画像撮影システムにおいては、第2の制御手段を、所定の輻輳角、2つの放射線画像の画素サイズ、表示手段の画素サイズ、および2つの放射線画像に含まれる病変の位置の少なくとも1つに応じて、立体視画像から部分領域を切り出し、部分領域を表示手段に表示する手段としてもよい。
ここで、撮影時の所定の輻輳角が大きいほど、立体視画像の立体感が大きくなるため、立体視画像の全体を立体視するよりも、立体視画像から切り出した部分領域を立体視した方が疲労感が少ない。「所定の輻輳角に応じて立体視画像から部分領域を切り出す」とは、所定の輻輳角が大きいほど小さい部分領域を切り出すことを意味する。
また、2つの放射線画像の画素サイズが大きい場合には、立体視画像の全領域を高い解像度にて表示手段に表示することが難しい場合がある。「2つの放射線画像の画素サイズに応じて立体視画像から部分領域を切り出す」とは、放射線画像の画素サイズに応じて、立体視画像を高解像度で表示手段に表示可能な部分領域を切り出すことを意味する。
また、表示手段の画素サイズによっては、立体視画像の全領域を高い解像度にて表示手段に表示することが難しい場合がある。「表示手段の画素サイズに応じて立体視画像から部分領域を切り出す」とは、表示手段の画素サイズに応じて、立体視画像を高解像度で表示手段に表示可能な部分領域を切り出すことを意味する。
また、放射線画像に病変が含まれる場合は、その病変を含む領域のみを切り出すことにより、その領域を高解像度にて表示することができる。「2つの放射線画像に含まれる病変の位置に応じて立体視画像から部分領域を切り出す」とは、病変を含むように、好ましくは病変を中央に含むように部分領域を切り出すことを意味する。
なお、立体視画像から部分領域を切り出すときには、視野闘争が発生しないように切り出したり、立体視したときに病変が中央になるように切り出す等、立体視を行いやすいようにしてもよい。
また、本発明による放射線画像撮影システムにおいては、撮影手段を、乳房の撮影を行って、ステレオバイオプシを行うために2つの放射線画像を取得する手段としてもよい。
また、本発明による放射線画像撮影システムにおいては、第1の制御手段を、バイオプシのスカウト撮影を行ってスカウト画像を取得し、そのスカウト画像および2つの放射線画像を取得した順に処理装置に送信する手段としてもよい。
また、本発明による放射線画像撮影システムにおいては、第2の制御手段を、表示手段に表示された立体視画像を用いての、バイオプシのためのターゲットの位置の指定を受け付け、そのターゲットの位置を表す位置情報を撮影装置に送信する手段としてもよい。
また、本発明による放射線画像撮影システムにおいては、撮影装置を、2つの放射線画像のいずれか一方を2次元表示する2次元表示手段をさらに有するものとし、
第1の制御手段を、2次元表示手段に表示された放射線画像を用いての、バイオプシのためのターゲットの位置の指定を受け付け、そのターゲットの位置を表す位置情報を処理装置に送信する手段としてもよい。

本発明によれば、撮影装置に可搬型の処理装置が接続され、撮影装置から処理装置に立体視画像を表示するための2つの放射線画像が取得された順に送信され、処理装置において、先に送信された放射線画像が表示され、2つの放射線画像の送信がなされると立体視画像が表示される。このため、可搬型の処理装置を接続するのみで、処理装置において立体視画像を表示することができ、その結果、既存の放射線画像撮影システムを生かしつつ、立体視画像の表示を行うことができる。したがって、既存の放射線画像撮影システムに医療用の3次元モニタが不要となり、さらにはシステムにおけるソフトウェアを大幅に変更する必要が無くなるため、システムのコストを高くすることなく、立体視画像の表示を行うことができる。
また、可搬型の処理装置において立体視画像を表示しているため、撮影後に患者に容易に立体視画像を見せることができる。
また、所定の輻輳角、2つの放射線画像の画素サイズ、表示手段の解像度、および2つの放射線画像に含まれる病変の位置の少なくとも1つに応じて立体視画像から切り出した部分領域を表示することにより、適切な立体感あるいは解像度にて立体視画像を表示することができるため、診断を精度良く行うことができる。また、部分領域を表示することにより、立体視画像を表示するまでに要する時間を短縮できるため、撮影時に拘束される患者の負担を低減できるとともに、立体視画像の表示を待つ操作者の煩わしさも低減できる。
また、バイオプシのスカウト撮影を行ってスカウト画像を取得し、スカウト画像および2つの放射線画像を取得した順に処理装置に送信することにより、処理の段階に応じた最適な組合せの放射線画像を用いて立体視画像を表示することができる。
以下、図面を参照して本発明の放射線画像表示装置の一実施形態を用いたステレオ乳房画像撮影表示システムについて説明する。本発明の実施形態による乳房画像撮影表示システムは、着脱可能なバイオプシユニットを取り付けることにより乳房用のステレオバイオプシ装置としても動作するシステムである。まず、本実施形態の乳房画像撮影表示システム全体の概略構成について説明する。図1は、バイオプシユニットが取り付けられた状態の本発明の実施形態における乳房画像撮影表示システムの概略構成を示す図である。
本実施形態の乳房画像撮影表示システム1は、図1に示すように、乳房画像撮影装置10(撮影手段)と、乳房画像撮影装置10に接続されたコンソールPC8と、コンソールPC8に接続されたモニタ9(2次元表示手段)および入力部7と、コンソールPC8に接続されたノートPC40とを備えている。なお、ノートPC40とコンソールPC8との接続は、有線であっても無線であってもよい。また、乳房画像撮影装置10、コンソールPC8およびモニタ9が、本発明の撮影装置に対応し、ノートPC40が本発明の処理装置に対応する。
乳房画像撮影装置10は、図1に示すように、基台11と、基台11に対し上下方向(Z方向)に移動可能であり、かつ回転可能な回転軸12と、回転軸12により基台11と連結されたアーム部13を備えている。なお、図2には、図1の右方向から見たアーム部13を示している。
アーム部13はアルファベットのCの形をしており、その一端には撮影台14が、その他端には撮影台14と対向するように放射線照射部16が取り付けられている。アーム部13の回転および上下方向の移動は、基台11に組み込まれたアームコントローラ31により制御される。
撮影台14の内部には、フラットパネルディテクタ等の放射線検出器15と、放射線検出器15からの電荷信号の読み出しを制御する検出器コントローラ33が備えられている。また、撮影台14の内部には、放射線検出器15から読み出された電荷信号を電圧信号に変換するチャージアンプや、チャージアンプから出力された電圧信号をサンプリングする相関2重サンプリング回路や、電圧信号をデジタル信号に変換するAD変換部等が設けられた回路基板等も設置されている。
また、撮影台14はアーム部13に対し回転可能に構成されており、基台11に対してアーム部13が回転したときでも、撮影台14の向きは基台11に対し固定された向きとすることができる。
放射線検出器15は、放射線画像の記録と読み出しを繰り返して行うことができるものであり、放射線の照射を直接受けて電荷を発生する、いわゆる直接型の放射線検出器を用いてもよいし、放射線を一旦可視光に変換し、その可視光を電荷信号に変換する、いわゆる間接型の放射線検出器を用いるようにしてもよい。また、放射線画像信号の読出方式としては、TFT(thin film transistor)スイッチをオン・オフさせることによって放射線画像信号が読み出される、いわゆるTFT読出方式のものや、読取光を照射することによって放射線画像信号が読み出される、いわゆる光読出方式のものを用いることが望ましいが、これに限らずその他のものを用いるようにしてもよい。
放射線照射部16の中には放射線源17と、放射線源コントローラ32が収納されている。放射線源コントローラ32は、放射線源17から放射線を照射するタイミングと、放射線源17における放射線発生条件(管電流、時間、管電流時間積等)を制御するものである。
また、アーム部13の中央部には、撮影台14の上方に配置されて乳房を押さえつけて圧迫する圧迫板18と、その圧迫板18を支持する支持部20と、支持部20を上下方向(Z方向)に移動させる移動機構19が設けられている。圧迫板18の位置、圧迫圧は、圧迫板コントローラ34により制御される。図3は、図1に示す圧迫板18を上方から見た図であるが、同図に示すように、圧迫板18は、撮影台14と圧迫板18により乳房を固定した状態でバイオプシを行えるよう、約10×10cm四方の大きさの開口部5を備えている。
バイオプシユニット2は、その基体部分が圧迫板18の支持部20の開口部に差し込まれ、基体部分の下端がアーム部13に取り付けられることによって、乳房画像撮影表示システム1と機械的、電気的に接続されるものである。
そして、バイオプシユニット2は、乳房に穿刺される生検針21を有し、着脱可能に構成された生検針ユニット22と、生検針ユニット22を支持する針支持部23と、針支持部23をレールに沿って移動させ、あるいは針支持部23を出し入れさせることにより、生検針ユニット22を図1から図3に示すX、YおよびZ方向に移動させる移動機構24とを備える。生検針ユニット22の生検針21の先端の位置は、移動機構24が備える針位置コントローラ35により、3次元空間における位置座標(x,y,z)として認識され、制御される。なお、図1における紙面垂直方向がX方向、図2における紙面垂直方向がY方向、図3における紙面垂直方向がZ方向である。
コンソールPC8は、中央処理装置(CPU)および半導体メモリやハードディスクやSSD等のストレージデバイス等を備えており、これらのハードウェアによって、図4に示すような制御部8a(第1の制御手段)、放射線画像記憶部8bおよび表示制御部8cが構成されている。
制御部8aは、各種のコントローラ31~35に対して所定の制御信号を出力し、システム全体の制御を行うとともに、ノートPC40と通信を行って放射線画像および各種情報のやりとりを行うものである。具体的な制御方法については後述する。
放射線画像記憶部8bは、放射線検出器15によって取得された放射線画像信号を記憶するものである。
表示制御部8cは、放射線画像をモニタ9に表示するものである。なお、モニタ9はステレオ画像を表示可能なものではないため、モニタ9の放射線画像の表示を2次元表示と称する。
入力部7は、例えば、キーボードやマウス等のポインティングデバイスから構成されるものであり、モニタ9に表示された放射線画像内の異常陰影等の位置をカーソルにより指定可能に構成されたものである。また、入力部7は、操作者による撮影条件等の入力や操作指示の入力等を受け付けるものである。
モニタ9は、表示制御部8cからの指示により、コンソールPC8から出力された放射線画像を2次元表示する。なお、モニタ9は、放射線画像をドットバイドット以上の整数倍の拡大率により表示可能なように、例えば2500×2000(≒5M)画素程度の高解像度のものとなっている。
ノートPC40は、入力部41およびモニタ42(表示手段)を備えるとともに、コンソールPC8と同様に、中央処理装置(CPU)および半導体メモリやハードディスクやSSD等のストレージデバイス等を備えており、これらのハードウェアによって、図5に示すような制御部40a(第2の制御手段)および表示制御部40bが構成されている。
制御部40aは、ノートPC40の全体の制御を行うとともに、コンソールPC8と通信を行って放射線画像および各種情報のやりとりを行うものである。具体的な制御方法については後述する。
表示制御部40bは、後述するように送信された放射線画像をモニタ42に2次元表示したり、2つの放射線画像に基づくステレオ画像をモニタ42に3次元表示したりするものである。
入力部41は、例えば、キーボードやマウス等のポインティングデバイスから構成されるものであり、モニタ42に表示されたステレオ画像あるいは放射線画像内の異常陰影等の位置をカーソルにより指定可能に構成されたものである。また、入力部41は、操作者による操作指示の入力等を受け付けるものである。
モニタ42は、表示制御部40bからの指示により、コンソールPC8から送信された2つの放射線画像を用いてステレオ画像を表示可能なものである。モニタ42の3次元表示の方式としては、例えば、2つの画面を用いて2つの放射線画像をそれぞれ表示させて、これらをハーフミラーや偏光グラス等を用いることで一方の放射線画像は観察者の右目に入射させ、他方の放射線画像は観察者の左目に入射させることによってステレオ画像を表示する方式を採用することができる。また、2つの放射線画像を重ね合わせ、これを偏光グラスで観察することでステレオ画像を表示する方式を用いてもよい。さらに、モニタ42を3D液晶により構成し、パララックスバリア方式およびレンチキュラー方式のように、2つの放射線画像を立体視可能な方式を用いてもよい。
なお、モニタ42はノートPC40に備えられたものであることから、モニタ9ほど高解像度のものではなく、またサイズも15インチ程度のものとなっている。
次に、本実施形態の乳房画像撮影表示システムの作用について説明する。図6は、乳房画像撮影装置10において放射線画像の撮影時および穿刺時に行われる処理を示すフローチャートである。
まず、乳房画像撮影装置10における放射線画像の撮影の処理について説明する。撮影の開始に際し、撮影台14の上に乳房Mが設置され、圧迫板18により乳房が所定の圧力によって圧迫される(ステップST1)。
次に、入力部7おいて、操作者によって種々の撮影条件が入力された後、撮影開始の指示が入力される。なお、このとき生検針ユニット22は上方に待避しており、まだ乳房Mには穿刺されていないものとする。
そして、入力部7において撮影開始の指示があると、乳房Mのステレオ画像の撮影に先だって、スカウト撮影が行われる(ステップST2)。具体的には、まずコンソールPC8の制御部8aが、バイオプシのスカウト撮影を行うべく、放射線源コントローラ32および検出器コントローラ33に対して放射線の照射と放射線画像信号の読み出しを行うよう制御信号を出力する。ここで、アーム部13は初期位置においては、アーム部13が撮影台14に対して垂直となる位置にあることから、この制御信号に応じて、放射線源17から放射線が射出され、乳房を垂直方向(θ=0度)方向から撮影した放射線画像が放射線検出器15によって検出され、検出器コントローラ33によって放射線画像信号が読み出され、その放射線画像信号に対して所定の信号処理が施された後、コンソールPC8の放射線画像記憶部8bに、スカウト画像GSの放射線画像信号として記憶される。
スカウト撮影により取得されたスカウト画像GSはモニタ9に表示される。操作者はスカウト画像を観察しながら、スカウト画像において視認される異常陰影が圧迫板18の開口5の位置に位置するように、乳房Mの位置決めを行う。
引き続き、コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、予め設定されたステレオ画像の撮影のための輻輳角の1/2に相当する角度θを読み出し、その読み出した角度θの情報をアームコントローラ31に出力する。なお、本実施形態においては、バイオプシを行うものであることから、このときの角度θの情報としてθ=15度(輻輳角=30度)が予め記憶されているものとするが、これに限らず、例えば、バイオプシを行わない場合には、立体視を良好に行うことが可能なθ=2度以上5度以下の任意の角度を用いてもよい。
次に、入力部7において撮影開始の指示があると、乳房Mのステレオ撮影が行われる(ステップST3)。そして、アームコントローラ31において、制御部8aから出力された角度θの情報が受け付けられ、アームコントローラ31は、この角度θの情報に基づいて、図2に示すように、アーム部13が撮影台14に垂直な方向に対して+θ回転するよう制御信号を出力する。すなわち、本実施形態においては、アーム部13を撮影台14に垂直な方向に対して+15度回転するよう制御信号を出力する。
そして、このアームコントローラ31から出力された制御信号に応じてアーム部13が+15度回転する。続いて制御部8aは、放射線源コントローラ32および検出器コントローラ33に対して放射線の照射と放射線画像信号の読み出しを行うよう制御信号を出力する。この制御信号に応じて、放射線源17から放射線が射出され、乳房を+15度方向から撮影した放射線画像が放射線検出器15によって検出され、検出器コントローラ33によって放射線画像信号が読み出され、その放射線画像信号に対して所定の信号処理が施された後、コンソールPC8の放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶される。なお、この撮影により放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶される放射線画像信号は、右目用の放射線画像GRを表すものとなる(右目用の放射線画像取得、ステップST4)。
次に、アームコントローラ31は、図2に示すように、アーム部を初期位置に一旦戻した後、撮影台14に垂直な方向に対して-θ回転するよう制御信号を出力する。すなわち、本実施形態においては、アーム部13を撮影台14に垂直な方向に対して-15度回転するよう制御信号を出力する。
そして、このアームコントローラ31から出力された制御信号に応じてアーム部13が-15度回転する。続いて制御部8aは、放射線源コントローラ32および検出器コントローラ33に対して放射線の照射と放射線画像の読み出しを行うよう制御信号を出力する。この制御信号に応じて、放射線源17から放射線が射出され、乳房を-15度方向から撮影した放射線画像が放射線検出器15によって検出され、検出器コントローラ33によって放射線画像信号が読み出され、所定の信号処理が施された後、コンソールPC8の放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶される。なお、この撮影により放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶される放射線画像信号は、左目用の放射線画像GLを表すものとなる(左目用の放射線画像取得、ステップST5)。
そして、乳房Mへの麻酔が行われ(ステップST6)、再度のステレオ撮影が行われる(ステップST7)。これにより、上記と同様に右目用の放射線画像GRおよび左目用の放射線画像GLが取得され、放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶される(ステップST8,ステップST9)。なお、麻酔前の乳房Mの位置決めと、麻酔後の乳房Mの位置決めとで、乳房Mの設置位置が異なるものとなった場合には、再度のスカウト撮影を行った後、ステレオ撮影を行ってもよい。
次いで、後述するように指定された異常陰影すなわちターゲットの位置情報が、制御部8aによってバイオプシユニット2の針位置コントローラ35に出力され、この状態で、入力部7において所定の操作ボタンが押されると、制御部8aから針位置コントローラ35に対し、生検針21を移動させる制御信号が出力される。針位置コントローラ35は、先に入力された位置情報の値に基づき、生検針21の先端が、その座標の示す位置の上方に配置されるように、生検針21を移動する。
その後、操作者により、生検針21の穿刺を指示する所定の操作が入力部7において行われると、制御部8aと針位置コントローラ35の制御の下で、生検針21の先端が座標の示す位置に配置されるように生検針21が移動させられて、生検針21による乳房の穿刺が行われる(ステップST10)。
次いで、乳房画像撮影装置10のコンソールPC8と、ノートPC40との間で行われる処理について、図7に示すフローチャートを参照して説明する。コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、放射線画像が取得されて放射線画像記憶部8bに記憶されると、その放射線画像がステレオ画像の表示に必要な放射線画像か否かを判断する(ステップST11)。ステップST11が肯定されると、制御部8aは、現在取得された放射線画像をノートPC40に送信する(ステップST12)。そして、コンソールPC8の表示制御部8cは、取得された放射線画像を表示する(ステップST13)。ここで、放射線画像は、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GR,GLの順に取得され、モニタ9は2次元モニタである。このため、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GR,GLを順次モニタ9に表示してもよく、複数の放射線画像(例えばスカウト画像GSと放射線画像GR、2つの放射線画像GR,GL等)を並べてモニタ9に表示してもよい。
そして、制御部8aは、ノートPC40が送信したバイオプシのターゲットの位置情報が受信されたか否かを判断する(ステップST14)。ステップST14が否定されると、ステップST11に戻り、放射線画像の撮影が続けられる。なお、ステップST11が否定されると、制御部8aは取得された放射線画像を送信することなく、操作者の次の指示を待つ待機状態となる(ステップST15)。
ここで、乳房Mへの麻酔の前、および麻酔後であってもスカウト撮影が行われた場合には、放射線画像は、スカウト画像GS、放射線画像GRおよび放射線画像GLの順に取得される。このため、コンソールPC8からノートPC40へは、スカウト画像GS、放射線画像GR、放射線画像GLの順に送信される。一方、乳房Mへの麻酔の後においてスカウト撮影が行われなかった場合には、放射線画像は、放射線画像GR、放射線画像GLの順に取得される。このため、コンソールPC8からノートPC40へは、放射線画像GR、放射線画像GLの順に送信される。
一方、ノートPC40の制御部40aは、放射線画像を受信したか否かを監視しており(ステップST31)、ステップST31が肯定されると、ステレオ画像を表示可能な放射線画像が揃ったか否かを判定する(ステップST32)。ステップST32が否定されると、表示制御部40bが、受信した放射線画像をモニタ42に2次元表示し(ステップST33)、ステップST31の処理に戻る。操作者は必要であれば、モニタ42に2次元表示された放射線画像に対して必要な操作を行う。
コンソールPC8から次の放射線画像が送信されてステップST32が肯定されると、表示制御部40bにより、2つの放射線画像に所定の信号処理が施されて、2つの放射線画像に基づくステレオ画像がモニタ42に表示される(ステップST34)。なお、本実施形態においては、乳房Mへの麻酔の前および麻酔後にスカウト撮影が行われた場合には、乳房画像撮影装置10においては最初にスカウト画像GSが取得され、次に右目用の放射線画像GRが取得されていることから、ノートPC40のモニタ42には、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRに基づくステレオ画像が表示される。なお、左目用の放射線画像GLの送信を待って、放射線画像GR,GLに基づくステレオ画像を表示してもよい。また、乳房Mへの麻酔の後にスカウト撮影が行われなかった場合には、乳房画像撮影装置10においては最初に右目用の放射線画像GRが取得され、次に左目用の放射線画像GLが取得されていることから、ノートPC40のモニタ42には、放射線画像GR,GLに基づくステレオ画像が表示される。
ここで、スカウト画像GSと放射線画像GRの撮影時の輻輳角は15度、放射線画像GR,GLの撮影時の輻輳角は30度であることから、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRを用いたステレオ画像の方が立体感が小さいものとなっている。
なお、ステレオ画像の表示時には放射線画像の最適化が行われる。以下、最適化について説明する。ステレオ画像は、撮影時の輻輳角が大きいほど、その立体感が大きくなる。このため、ノートPC40においては、ステレオ画像の全体を立体視するよりも、ステレオ画像から切り出した部分領域のみを表示した方が、観察者の疲労感が少ない。このため、ノートPC40の表示制御部40bは、放射線画像の受信時に撮影時の輻輳角の情報をコンソールPC8から取得し、輻輳角の情報に基づいて、図8に示すように、ステレオ画像として表示する放射線画像(ここではスカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRとする)の部分領域A1,A2を決定し、決定した部分領域A1,A2のみを用いてステレオ画像を表示する。ここで、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRを用いたステレオ画像を表示する場合と、2つの放射線画像GR,GLを用いたステレオ画像を表示する場合とでは、前者よりも後者の方が小さくなるように部分領域を決定する。
また、ノートPC40のモニタ42の画素サイズはそれほど小さいものではないことから、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRの画素サイズが小さい場合には、ステレオ画像の全領域を高い解像度にてモニタ42に表示することが難しい。このため、ノートPC40の表示制御部40bは、送信された放射線画像の画素サイズに基づいて、例えばドットバイドットにてステレオ画像が表示されるように、スカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GRの部分領域を決定し、決定した部分領域のみを用いてステレオ画像を表示する。
また、ノートPC40において、送信された放射線画像から異常陰影を検出し、検出した異常陰影がステレオ画像の中央部分に表示されるように、図9に示すように、ステレオ画像として表示する放射線画像(ここではスカウト画像GSおよび放射線画像GR)において部分領域A11,A12を決定し、決定した部分領域A11,A12のみのステレオ画像を表示するようにしてもよい。この場合、ドットバイドットにてステレオ画像がモニタ42に表示されるように、部分領域A11,A12のサイズを決定すればよい。
ステレオ画像がモニタ42に表示されると、操作者によりステレオ画像を観察しての異常陰影の位置の特定、すなわちターゲティングが行われる(ステップST35)。ターゲティングが終了すると、制御部40aは、特定した異常陰影、すなわちターゲットの位置を表す位置情報をコンソールPC8に送信する(ステップST36)。なお、位置情報はターゲットの座標を含む。
コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、位置情報を受信すると、位置情報に基づいて、特定されたターゲットの位置をモニタ9に表示された画像上に反映させる(ステップST16)。図10はターゲットの位置を放射線画像に反映させた状態を示す図である。なお、ここでは2つの放射線画像GR,GLが並べられて表示されているものとする。図10に示すように、放射線画像GR,GLには、ノートPC40において特定されたターゲットの位置に矢印等のマーク50が付与される。
操作者は、必要であればターゲットの位置の修正を行い(ステップST17)、修正した位置情報をノートPC40に送信する(ステップST18)。ノートPC40の制御部は、修正された位置情報に基づいて、異常陰影の位置を修正し、修正結果をステレオ画像に反映させる(ステップST37)。
このように、本実施形態においては、乳房画像撮影装置10にノートPC40を接続し、乳房画像撮影装置10のコンソールPC8からノートPC40へ、ステレオ画像を表示するための放射線画像を取得した順に送信し、ノートPC40において、先に送信された放射線画像を2次元表示し、2つの放射線画像の送信がなされるとステレオ画像を3次元表示するようにしたものである。このため、乳房画像撮影装置10にノートPC40を接続するのみで、ノートPC40においてステレオ画像を表示することができ、これにより、既存の放射線画像撮影システムを生かしつつ、ステレオ画像の表示を行うことができる。したがって、既存の放射線画像撮影システムに高価な医療用の3次元モニタが不要となり、さらにはシステムにおけるソフトウェアを大幅に変更する必要が無くなるため、システムのコストを高くすることなく、ステレオ画像の表示を行うことができる。
また、ノートPC40においてステレオ画像を表示しているため、撮影後に患者に容易にステレオ画像を見せることができる。
また、ノートPC40においてステレオ画像を表示する際に、放射線画像を最適化しているため、適切な立体感あるいは解像度にてステレオ画像を表示することができ、これにより、診断を精度良く行うことができる。また、部分領域を表示することにより、ステレオ画像を表示するまでに要する時間を短縮できるため、撮影時に拘束される患者の負担を低減できるとともに、ステレオ画像の表示を待つ操作者の煩わしさも低減できる。
また、バイオプシのスカウト撮影を行ってスカウト画像GSを取得し、バイオプシの処理の段階に応じて、スカウト画像GSおよび2つの放射線画像GR,GLを取得した順にノートPC40に送信することにより、処理の段階に応じた最適な組合せの放射線画像を用いてステレオ画像を表示することができる。
なお、上記実施形態においては、ノートPC40においてターゲティングを行っているが、乳房画像撮影装置10のモニタ9に2次元表示された放射線画像を用いてターゲティングを行うようにしてもよい。以下この場合の処理について、図11に示すフローチャートを参照して説明する。なお、図11に示すフローチャートにおけるコンソールPC8のステップST41~ST43,ST45の処理、およびノートPC40のステップST51~ST54までの処理は、図7に示すフローチャートにおけるステップST11~ST13,ST15およびステップST31~ST34までの処理と同一であるため、ここでは詳細な説明は省略する。
コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、放射線画像をノートPC40に送信すると、ステレオ画像の表示に必要な放射線画像を送信したか否かを判断する(ステップST44)。ステップST44が否定されるとステップST41に戻り、放射線画像の撮影が続けられる。
ステップST44が肯定されると、操作者によりモニタ9に2次元表示された放射線画像を観察しての異常陰影の位置の特定、すなわちターゲティングが行われる(ステップST45)。ターゲティングが終了すると、コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、特定したターゲットの位置を表す位置情報をノートPC40に送信する(ステップST46)。
ノートPC40の制御部40aは、位置情報を受信すると、位置情報に基づいて、特定されたターゲットの位置をモニタ42に表示されたステレオ画像上に反映させる(ステップST55)。操作者は、必要であればターゲットの位置の修正を行い(ステップST56)、修正した位置情報をコンソールPC8に送信する(ステップST57)。
コンソールPC8の制御部8aは、修正された位置情報に基づいて、異常陰影の位置を修正し、修正結果をモニタ9に表示された放射線画像に反映させる(ステップST47)。
ここで、図7に示すフローチャートにおいては、ノートPC40でステレオ画像を用いてターゲティングを行い、図11に示すフローチャートにおいては、乳房画像撮影装置10においてモニタ9に表示された放射線画像を用いてターゲティングを行っているが、その切り替えは、コンソールPC8の入力部7またはノートPC40の入力部41を用いて操作者が指示を行うようにすればよい。
なお、上記実施形態においては、ノートPC40におけるステレオ画像の表示時に最適化を行っているが、最適化を行うことなくステレオ画像を表示するようにしてもよい。
また、上記実施形態においては、ノートPC40において、ステレオ画像を用いてターゲティングを行っているが、先に送信されてモニタ42に2次元表示された放射線画像を用いてターゲティングを行うようにしてもよい。
また、上記実施形態は、本発明の放射線画像表示装置の一実施形態をステレオ乳房画像撮影表示システムに適用したものであるが、本発明の被写体としては乳房に限らず、例えば、胸部や頭部等を撮影する放射線画像撮影表示システムにも本発明を適用することができる。
Claims (9)
- 所定の輻輳角となる2方向から被検体を撮影することにより、立体視画像を表示するための2つの放射線画像を取得可能な撮影手段と、2つの放射線画像を取得するよう前記撮影手段を制御する第1の制御手段とを有する撮影装置、および
該撮影装置に接続された可搬型の処理装置であって、前記立体視画像を表示可能な表示手段と、前記立体視画像を前記表示手段に表示する制御を行う第2の制御手段とを有する処理装置を備え、
前記第1の制御手段は、前記2つの放射線画像を取得した順に前記処理装置に送信する手段であり、
前記第2の制御手段は、前記2つの放射線画像のうち、先に送信された放射線画像を前記表示手段に表示し、前記2つの放射線画像の送信がなされると前記立体視画像を前記表示手段に表示する手段であることを特徴とする放射線画像撮影システム。 - 前記第2の制御手段は、前記所定の輻輳角、前記2つの放射線画像の画素サイズ、前記表示手段の画素サイズ、および前記2つの放射線画像に含まれる病変の位置の少なくとも1つに応じて、前記立体視画像から部分領域を切り出し、該部分領域を前記表示手段に表示する手段であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の放射線画像撮影システム。
- 前記撮影手段は、乳房の撮影を行って、ステレオバイオプシを行うために前記2つの放射線画像を取得する手段であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の放射線画像撮影システム。
- 前記第1の制御手段は、バイオプシのスカウト撮影を行ってスカウト画像を取得し、該スカウト画像および前記2つの放射線画像を取得した順に前記処理装置に送信する手段であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の放射線画像撮影システム。
- 前記第2の制御手段は、前記表示手段に表示された前記立体視画像を用いての、バイオプシのためのターゲットの位置の指定を受け付け、該ターゲットの位置を表す位置情報を前記撮影装置に送信する手段であることを特徴とする請求項3または4記載の放射線画像撮影システム。
- 前記撮影装置が、前記2つの放射線画像のいずれか一方を2次元表示する2次元表示手段をさらに有し、
前記第1の制御手段は、前記2次元表示手段に表示された前記放射線画像を用いての、バイオプシのためのターゲットの位置の指定を受け付け、該ターゲットの位置を表す位置情報を前記処理装置に送信する手段であることを特徴とする請求項3または4記載の放射線画像撮影システム。 - 前記撮影装置が、前記スカウト画像および前記2つの放射線画像のいずれかを2次元表示する2次元表示手段をさらに有し、
前記第1の制御手段は、前記2次元表示手段に表示された前記放射線画像を用いての、バイオプシのためのターゲットの位置の指定を受け付け、該ターゲットの位置を表す位置情報を前記処理装置に送信する手段であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の放射線画像撮影システム。 - 前記処理装置が、ノートパソコンであることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1項記載の放射線画像撮影システム。
- 所定の輻輳角となる2方向から被検体を撮影することにより、立体視画像を表示するための2つの放射線画像を取得可能な撮影手段と、前記2つの放射線画像を取得するよう前記撮影手段を制御する第1の制御手段とを有する撮影装置、および
該撮影装置に接続された可搬型の処理装置であって、前記立体視画像を表示可能な表示手段と、前記立体視画像を前記表示手段に表示する制御を行う第2の制御手段とを有する処理装置を備えた放射線画像撮影システムにおける制御方法であって、
前記第1の制御手段により、前記2つの放射線画像を取得した順に前記処理装置に送信し、
前記第2の制御手段により、前記2つの放射線画像のうち、先に送信された放射線画像を前記表示手段に表示し、前記2つの放射線画像の送信がなされると前記立体視画像を前記表示手段に表示することを特徴とする放射線画像撮影システムの制御方法。
