Abstract

Ein Verfahren zum Überprüfen eines Ventils an einem Abgasturbolader eines Verbrennungsmotors, wobei aus dem Verbrennungsmotor ein Abgasstrom austritt, von dem ein erster Teil durch eine Turbine des Abgasturboladers in einen Abgastrakt und ein zweiter Teil durch das Ventil in den Abgastrakt strömt, umfasst Schritte des Variierens eines Verhältnisses von Kraftstoff zu Luft in einem dem Verbrennungsmotor bereitgestellten Frischgas, des Bestimmens eines Restsauerstoffgehalts im Abgastrakt und des Bestimmens, dass das Ventil defekt ist, falls eine Variation des Restsauerstoffgehalts auf eine andere als eine vorbestimmte Weise der Variation des Verhältnisses von Kraftstoff zu Luft im Frischgas folgt. Eine Vorrichtung zur Überprüfung des Ventils kann in einer integrierten Motorsteuerung des Verbrennungsmotors integriert sein.
