Definitions
- the present invention relates to an input device having a panel and an input device control method.
- a mobile terminal such as a mobile phone, an information device such as a calculator and a ticket vending machine, a home appliance such as a microwave oven, a television, and a lighting fixture, an industrial device (FA device), etc.
- input devices such as switches, input devices including panels such as touch panels and touch switches are widely used.
- any type of panel accepts touch input by a finger or a stylus pen, and the panel itself is not physically displaced like a push button switch even when touched.
- the panel itself is not physically displaced, so that the operator cannot obtain feedback for the input even if the touch input is accepted. For this reason, the operator is likely to repeatedly input such as touching the same position many times, and may stress the operator.
- a touch input is received and a sound is produced, or a display color of an input object such as an input button displayed on the display unit corresponding to the input position is displayed.
- an input operation can be confirmed by hearing or vision by changing the display mode such as changing.
- the techniques disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2 merely vibrate the panel when the panel receives an input. For this reason, especially when a button switch such as a push button switch (push button switch) is drawn on the top of the panel, when the threshold for accepting panel input is low, a finger or the like touches the panel lightly (touch )) Is just a tactile sensation. As a result, an erroneous operation is induced in response to an unintended operation (touch) before the operator pushes, or a sense of incongruity due to an unintended operation (touch) before the operator pushes is given.
- the threshold value for accepting an input by touching the panel is a threshold value at which the panel reacts. For example, in the resistive film method, the threshold value of the pressing force with which the upper conductive film contacts the lower conductive film. Is a detection threshold value of an electrical signal due to contact.
- the present applicant detects a pressing load on the touch surface of the panel, and vibrates the touch surface when the detected load satisfies a predetermined criterion for presenting a tactile sensation.
- Developing input devices when the detection load satisfies a predetermined standard for presenting a tactile sensation, when a push button switch such as a metal dome switch is pushed onto a pressing target such as a finger, the metal dome is buckled. The tactile sensation that can be felt is displayed.
- this input device when the operator pushes the touch surface and the pressing load satisfies a predetermined standard, a click feeling is presented. As a result, it is possible to reliably prevent the above-described erroneous operation due to an unintended touch or to give a sense of incongruity and allow the operator to recognize that the input has been accepted as a tactile sensation.
- the present applicant uses a piezoelectric positive effect and a piezoelectric reverse effect of the piezoelectric element to detect the pressure load on the touch surface of the panel.
- a device that is shared as an actuator that vibrates the touch surface and presents a tactile sensation to the object to be pressed.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an input device and a control method for an input device that can share a piezoelectric element as a load sensor and an actuator, and can appropriately present a tactile sensation without causing the operator to feel uncomfortable when the operator operates the panel. It is to provide.
- the invention of the input device is as follows: A panel, A piezoelectric element mounted on the panel; An output detection unit that detects an output of the piezoelectric element according to a pressure on the touch surface of the panel and determines whether or not the output satisfies a criterion for presenting a tactile sensation; A piezoelectric element driving unit that drives the piezoelectric element so as to present a tactile sensation with respect to a pressing target pressing the touch surface when the output detection unit determines that the reference is satisfied; A control unit for controlling the start timing of the determination by the output detection unit, The control unit performs the determination by the output detection unit after a predetermined time has elapsed after the piezoelectric element is driven by the piezoelectric element driving unit and the output detection unit can resume detection of the output. Control to resume, It is characterized by this.
- the invention according to a second aspect is the input device according to the first aspect, A discharge circuit for discharging the residual charge accumulated in the piezoelectric element; The discharge circuit discharges residual charges accumulated in the piezoelectric element during the predetermined time; It is characterized by this.
- the invention according to a third aspect is the input device according to the first aspect,
- the predetermined time is 40 ms or less; It is characterized by this.
- the invention of the control method of the input device is as follows: A panel, A piezoelectric element mounted on the panel; An output detection unit that detects an output of the piezoelectric element according to a pressure on the touch surface of the panel and determines whether or not the output satisfies a criterion for presenting a tactile sensation; An input device comprising: a piezoelectric element driving unit that drives the piezoelectric element so as to present a tactile sensation with respect to a pressing target pressing the touch surface when the output detection unit determines that the reference is satisfied.
- the piezoelectric element is selectively connected to the output detection unit or the piezoelectric element driving unit, With the piezoelectric element connected to the output detection unit, when it is determined that the output detection unit satisfies the reference, the piezoelectric element is switched from the output detection unit to the piezoelectric element driving unit, Driving the piezoelectric element by the piezoelectric element driving unit; After driving the piezoelectric element, switching the connection of the piezoelectric element from the piezoelectric element drive unit to the output detection unit, and after a predetermined time has elapsed since the output detection unit can resume detection of the output, Resuming the determination by the output detector; It is characterized by including.
- a piezoelectric element as a load sensor and an actuator, and to appropriately present a tactile sensation without giving an uncomfortable feeling to the operator.

And the control part 17 controls operation
- FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram showing a configuration of an example of the connection switching unit 14 shown in FIG.
- the connection switching unit 14 includes two switch circuits 21 and 22 including semiconductor relays and an inverter 23.
- Each of the switch circuits 21 and 22 has an on / off contact.
- the on / off contact of the switch circuit 21 is connected between the positive terminal of the piezoelectric element 13 and the output terminal (not shown) of the piezoelectric element driving unit 15.
- the on / off contact of the switch circuit 22 is connected between the positive terminal of the piezoelectric element 13 and an analog / digital conversion input terminal (not shown) of the control unit 17.
- the on / off contact is on / off controlled via the inverter 23 by the connection switching signal a output from the control unit 17.
- the on / off contact is on / off controlled by the connection switching signal a. Therefore, when one of the on / off contacts of the switch circuits 21 and 22 is in the on state, the other is in the off state.
- FIG. 3 is a timing chart showing a schematic operation of the input device according to the present embodiment.
- the output signal (voltage) Vs and drive signal Vd of the piezoelectric element 13, the connection switching signal a, the operation state of output detection (voltage detection) and output determination by the output detector 18, and the piezoelectric element The operation state of the piezoelectric element 13 by the drive part 15 is shown.
- the control unit 17 sets the connection switching signal a to the high (H) level. Thereby, the switch circuit 21 of the switching control unit 14 is turned off, the switch circuit 22 is turned on, and the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the control unit 17.
- the control unit 17 monitors the output of the panel 11. Further, the output detection unit 18 of the control unit 17 detects the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13 based on the pressure on the panel 11. Then, it is determined whether or not the detected output voltage Vs satisfies a criterion for presenting tactile sensation.
- the control unit 17 is configured such that the position information from the panel 11 is an input to the input object displayed on the display unit 12 and the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13 is presented by the output detection unit 18 as a reference. It is determined that the reference voltage Vref corresponding to the load (for example, 1.5 N) has been reached.
- control unit 17 sets the connection switching signal a to the low (L) level for a predetermined time T1.
- the switch circuit 21 of the switching control unit 14 is turned on and the switch circuit 22 is turned off to connect the piezoelectric element 13 to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15.
- the control unit 17 drives the piezoelectric element 13 by outputting a predetermined drive signal Vd from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 in a state where the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15. Thereby, the touch panel 11 is vibrated and a tactile sensation is presented to the pressing target pressing the touch surface.
- the control unit 17 performs predetermined processing on the input object in the display unit 12, for example, display mode change processing, display processing of a character corresponding to the input object in a predetermined display area, and application corresponding to the object. The execution process etc. are performed.
- the control unit 17 sets the connection switching signal a to the H level when the predetermined time T1 has elapsed, turns off the switch circuit 21, and turns off the switch circuit 22. Turn it back on. As a result, the connection of the piezoelectric element 13 is switched from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 to the control unit 17 so that detection of the output voltage (output signal) by the output detection unit 18 can be resumed.
- the control unit 17 resumes the determination as to whether or not the output voltage by the output detection unit 18 satisfies the standard after a predetermined time has elapsed since the detection of the output voltage by the output detection unit 18 becomes possible.
- the output voltage Vs from the piezoelectric element 13 is invalidated (cancelled) until a predetermined time T2 elapses after the elapse of the predetermined time T1 when the connection switching signal a is switched from the L level to the H level. Therefore, it is not determined whether the output voltage satisfies the standard.
- the control part 17 makes the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13 effective from the time of the predetermined time T2, and restarts the determination process of the output voltage Vs by the output detection part 18.
- the predetermined time T1 for setting the connection switching signal a to the L level is a time including the driving time of the piezoelectric element 13, and is set to be fixed (for example, about 10 ms) or a driving signal corresponding to a tactile sensation to be presented. It is automatically set according to the driving time.
- a predetermined time T2 until the output voltage determination process is resumed in the output detection unit 18 is that the electric charge remaining in the piezoelectric element 13 is substantially discharged after the piezoelectric element 13 is driven and the output voltage is output.
- the period is a period sufficient for Vs to be approximately 0 V and is a period that does not hinder the output detection based on the load of each input operation in a continuous input operation or the like.
- the predetermined time T2 is, for example, 40 ms or less.
- the load sensor that detects the pressing load on the touch surface of the panel 11 using the piezoelectric positive effect and the piezoelectric reverse effect of the piezoelectric element 13.
- parts are shared by using the actuator to vibrate the touch surface and presenting a tactile sensation to the object to be pressed. Therefore, since the number of parts can be reduced, the cost can be reduced and the installation space for the parts can be reduced, so that the apparatus can be downsized.
- the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 is independent of the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13.
- a drive signal Vd can be supplied to the piezoelectric element 13. Therefore, since it is not necessary to apply a voltage obtained by adding the output voltage Vs and the drive signal Vd, the operating voltage range can be lowered, and various piezoelectric elements can be used.
- the piezoelectric element 13 is driven, that is, after the tactile sensation is first presented due to an increase in the pressing load (output voltage) due to the touch input, the detection of the output voltage is resumed, but the predetermined time T2 elapses. Until then, it is not determined whether or not the output voltage satisfies the standard. Then, the determination is resumed from the time when the predetermined time T2 has elapsed.
- the output voltage Vs changes, for example, as shown at a predetermined time T2 in FIG. That is, when the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element increases to the positive polarity side when the panel 11 starts to be pressed, the output voltage Vs immediately after driving the piezoelectric element 13 increases relatively sharply from 0 V to the negative polarity side. After that, it shows a behavior of gradually returning to 0 V due to spontaneous discharge of accumulated charges.
- Such a phenomenon is not limited to the case where a drive signal that presents a click sensation such as a push button switch is applied as a drive signal.
- the output voltage after switching the connection destination of the piezoelectric element 13 to the output detection unit 18 is steep. It is possible to reduce the possibility of an unexpected tactile sensation being presented based on a phenomenon that causes a change. Further, since the tactile sensation is not presented even when the pressing force by the object to be pressed increases and exceeds the reference voltage Vref during the predetermined time T2, it is appropriate without giving the operator an uncomfortable feeling that presents an unexpected tactile sensation. A tactile sensation can be presented.
- FIG. 4 shows a schematic configuration of an example of the mounting structure of the panel 11, the display unit 12 and the piezoelectric element 13 shown in FIG. 1, and FIG. (B) is a principal part top view.
- the display unit 12 is housed and held in the housing 31.
- the panel 11 is held on the display unit 12 via an insulator 32 made of an elastic member.
- the panel 11 is held on the display unit 12 via insulators 32 arranged at four corners that are out of the display area A of the display unit 12 indicated by phantom lines in FIG.
- the casing 31 is provided with an upper cover 33 so as to cover the surface area of the panel 11 outside the display area of the display unit 12.
- a dustproof insulator 34 made of an elastic member is disposed between the upper cover 33 and the panel 11.
- the surface member which has the touch surface 11a is comprised, for example with a transparent film or glass, and a back surface member is comprised with glass or an acryl.
- the touch surface 11a is pressed via the insulator 34, the pressing portion is bent (distorted) in a small amount according to the pressing force, and the entire panel 11 including the back member is bent in a small amount. Yes.
- the piezoelectric element 13 is attached to the panel 11 on the back surface, in the vicinity of one side or a plurality of sides covered with the upper cover 33, here in the vicinity of three sides. These three piezoelectric elements 13 detect a pressing load on the touch surface 11a of the panel 11 and vibrate the panel 11 to present a tactile sensation to the pressing target pressing the touch surface 11a.
- FIG. 4B the casing 31, the upper cover 33, and the insulator 34 shown in FIG. 4A are not shown.
- the three piezoelectric elements 13 are connected to the piezoelectric element driving section 15 via the connection switching section 14 and driven by a common driving signal or driven by independent driving signals. Further, the outputs of the three piezoelectric elements 13 are supplied in parallel to the output detection unit 18 via the connection switching unit 14.
- the output detector 18 calculates an output signal based on the output signals (voltages) of the three piezoelectric elements 13. This output signal is preferably set so that almost the same calculation result can be obtained when the pressure sensation (feeling of the hardness or softness of the object) felt by the operator is substantially the same at each position on the touch surface 11a. Therefore, the output detection unit 18 calculates an output signal based on, for example, an average value of the output signals of the three piezoelectric elements 13 or a weighted addition value. Further, the three piezoelectric elements 13 are preferably driven by independent drive signals so that the operator can obtain substantially the same tactile sensation (feeling of touch of an object) at each position on the touch surface 11a. To do. Therefore, the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 appropriately changes the amplitude and phase of each drive signal according to the position and location of the touch surface 11a so that substantially the same tactile sensation in which pressure sense and tactile sense are combined can be obtained.
- the output voltage reference for presenting the tactile sensation can be appropriately set according to, for example, the load characteristics when the push button switch is pressed.
- the reference is set to be the same as the output voltage corresponding to the load that the panel 11 reacts to the touch input (the touch input response and the tactile sensation timing of the panel 11 are set to be the same).
- the output voltage is set to an output voltage corresponding to a load higher than the load that the panel 11 reacts to touch input (a setting for delaying the timing of presenting the tactile sensation than the response to the touch input of the panel 11).
- the panel 11 or more output voltage corresponding to the load that reacts to the touch input (more tactile feeling than the touch input response of the panel 11). It is good to set to the setting which delays the timing to present.
- the user can freely set the output voltage standard related to this load so that older users can set heavier (slower), and users who frequently email can be set lighter (faster). It is good to be able to set to.
- the driving signal for driving the piezoelectric element 13 by the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 can be appropriately set according to the tactile sensation to be presented. For example, in the case of presenting a realistic click tactile sensation that can be felt as “cuckling” obtained when a push button switch used in a portable terminal is pressed, the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 drives the piezoelectric element 13 as follows. To do. That is, when the above-mentioned reference output voltage is applied, for example, one period of a sine wave having a constant frequency of 100 Hz to 200 Hz, preferably 170 Hz, is applied to the piezoelectric element 13 as a drive signal, and the touch surface of the panel 11 is applied.
- the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 provides a driving signal to the piezoelectric element 13 as a sine wave of about 200 Hz to 500 Hz, for example. A signal or a rectangular wave signal is applied for one period.
- a sine wave signal of about 200 Hz to 500 Hz is used as a driving signal. Apply for a period.
- a sine wave signal of about 200 Hz to 500 Hz is applied for four cycles or more as a drive signal.
- the drive signal information presenting these various tactile sensations is stored in a storage unit (not shown) so that the user can appropriately set a drive signal presenting a desired tactile sensation. Then, it is preferable to automatically set the L level time T1 of the connection switching signal a shown in FIG. 3 according to the set drive signal.
- the control unit 17 does not drive the piezoelectric element 13 until the load applied to the panel 11 calculated based on the output of the piezoelectric element 13 satisfies a reference (for example, 1.5 N) for presenting tactile sensation. Thereby, a pressure sensation is stimulated for the operator.
- a reference for example, 1.5 N
- the control unit 17 drives the piezoelectric element 13 with a predetermined drive signal by the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 to vibrate the touch surface 11a to stimulate the sense of touch. Thereby, a tactile sensation is presented to the operator to recognize that the input operation has been completed.
- a button switch such as a push button switch (push type button switch)
- the operator feels that the panel 11 has a realistic click feeling similar to that when the push button switch is operated.
- the input operation can be performed while obtaining As a result, the operator does not feel uncomfortable.
- the operator since the operator can perform an input operation in conjunction with the consciousness of “pressing” the panel 11, an input error due to a simple press can be prevented.
- the control is performed.
- the unit 17 determines the input position according to the touch operation on the touch surface 11a, and changes the display mode of the input object at the corresponding location on the display unit 12.
- the control unit 17 drives the piezoelectric element 13 and clicks While presenting a tactile sensation, it is possible to determine the input position and execute a predetermined process (for example, an execution process of a program corresponding to an object).
- a predetermined process for example, an execution process of a program corresponding to an object.
- the operator can confirm the selection of the input object by changing the display mode of the input object displayed on the display unit 12.
- the operator can recognize that the selected input object has been determined (executed) by pressing the touch surface 11a and being presented with a click feeling. Thereby, it is possible to prevent erroneous input by a so-called lost finger.
- FIG. 5 is a functional block diagram showing a schematic configuration of the input device according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
- the input device includes a discharge circuit 16 connected to the piezoelectric element 13 in the configuration shown in FIG. 1. After the piezoelectric element 13 is driven by the discharge circuit 16, the electric charge remaining in the piezoelectric element 13 is forcibly applied. It discharges to earth.
- the discharge circuit 16 includes, for example, a resistor 41 and a switching transistor 42 for discharge.
- the switching transistor 42 has a collector connected to the positive terminal of the piezoelectric element 13 and an emitter connected to the ground.
- the base of the switching transistor 42 is connected to the control unit 17 through the resistor 41 and supplied with the discharge control signal b from the control unit 17. Since other configurations are the same as those in FIG. 1, the same reference numerals are given to components having the same actions, and the description thereof is omitted.
- FIG. 6 is a timing chart showing a schematic operation of the input device according to the present embodiment.
- the piezoelectric element 13 is driven by the piezoelectric element driving unit 15, that is, from when a predetermined time T1 when the connection switching signal a becomes L level has elapsed, for a predetermined time T3.
- the discharge control signal b is set to H level.
- the switching transistor 42 is turned on, and the residual charges accumulated in the piezoelectric element 13 are forcibly discharged to the ground through the collector-emitter passage.
- control unit 17 sets the output detection unit 18 to be able to resume the detection of the output voltage from the time when the predetermined time T1 when the connection switching signal a is switched from the L level to the H level. Until the predetermined time T3 when the discharge control signal b is at the H level after the elapse of time elapses, the output voltage Vs from the piezoelectric element 13 is invalidated (cancelled), and whether or not the output voltage from the output detector 18 satisfies the standard. Do not make such a determination.
- control unit 17 validates the output voltage Vs from the piezoelectric element 13 from the time when the predetermined time T3 has elapsed, and restarts the determination process of the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13 by the output detection unit 18. Since other operations are the same as those in the first embodiment, description thereof is omitted.
- a predetermined time (discharge time) T3 from when the piezoelectric element 13 is driven to when the output detection unit 18 restarts the output voltage determination process is shorter than the predetermined time T2 in the first embodiment, for example, 30 ms. Can be about. Therefore, in addition to the effects of the first embodiment, a tactile sensation is appropriately presented for each input operation even in a so-called repeated input operation in which the same input object displayed on the display unit 12 is continuously input. The effect that it can do is acquired.
- FIG. 7 is a timing chart for explaining the schematic operation of the input apparatus according to the third embodiment of the invention.
- the input device according to the present embodiment In the configuration shown in FIG. 5, a tactile sensation is also presented when the pressed object is released from the touch surface of the panel 11.
- the output detection unit 18 has a first reference voltage Vref1 (corresponding to the reference voltage Vref in the first and second embodiments) corresponding to a reference load for presenting a tactile sensation when pressed, and a tactile sensation when released.
- a second reference voltage Vref2 corresponding to a reference load for presentation is set.
- the second reference voltage Vref2 is different in polarity from the first reference voltage Vref1.
- the control unit 17 uses the position information from the panel 11 as an input to the input object displayed on the display unit 12, and the output detection unit 18 uses the piezoelectric element. It is determined that the output voltage Vs of 13 has reached the first reference voltage Vref1 corresponding to a reference load (eg, 1.5 N) that provides tactile sensation. Then, the control part 17 sets the connection switching signal a to L level only for the predetermined time T1. Accordingly, the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 via the switching control unit 14.
- control unit 17 drives the piezoelectric element 13 by outputting a predetermined drive signal Vd from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 in a state where the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15. Thereby, the touch panel 11 is vibrated and a tactile sensation is presented to the pressing target pressing the touch surface.
- the control unit 17 sets the connection switching signal a to H level and connects the piezoelectric element 13 from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 to the control unit 17. Switch.
- the discharge control signal b is set to the H level for a predetermined time (discharge time) T4, and the residual charge accumulated in the piezoelectric element 13 is discharged to the ground through the collector-emitter passage of the switching transistor 42.
- control unit 17 sets the output detection unit 18 to be able to resume the detection of the output voltage from the time when the predetermined time T1 when the connection switching signal a is switched from the L level to the H level.
- the output voltage determination process is not performed until a predetermined time T4 when the discharge control signal b is at the H level after the elapse of time elapses.
- predetermined time T4 passes, the control part 17 will restart the determination process of the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 14 by the output detection part 18 from the elapsed time.
- the predetermined time (discharge time) T4 is shorter than the predetermined time T3 in the second embodiment and is set to about 20 ms, for example, so that the pressed state of the panel 11 by the object to be pressed can be secured.
- the piezoelectric element 13 since the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the ground at a predetermined time T4 and the residual charge is discharged, the output voltage Vs is 0 V at the end of the predetermined time T4. Therefore, at this time, if the panel 11 is pressed by the pressing target, the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 13 in the pressed state becomes 0V. As a result, when the piezoelectric element 13 is subsequently displaced so as to return to the original normal state in accordance with the release operation to be pressed, the output voltage of the piezoelectric element 13 increases to the negative polarity side with the displacement.
- the control unit 17 causes the output detection unit 18 to output the second reference voltage Vref2 corresponding to a reference load that provides a tactile sensation when the output voltage Vs is released. It is determined that it has reached. Then, the control unit 17 switches the connection of the piezoelectric element 13 from the control unit 17 to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 by setting the connection switching signal a to the L level for a predetermined time T1 as in the case of pressing described above.
- the control unit 17 outputs a predetermined drive signal Vd from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 in a state where the piezoelectric element 13 is connected to the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 and outputs the piezoelectric element. 13 is driven. Thereby, the touch panel 11 is vibrated and a tactile sensation is presented to the pressing target pressing the touch surface.
- the control unit 17 sets the connection switching signal a to the H level to switch the connection of the piezoelectric element 13 from the piezoelectric element driving unit 15 to the control unit 17 and discharge control signal b. Is set to H level for a predetermined time (discharge time) T4. Thereby, the residual charge accumulated in the piezoelectric element 13 is discharged. Similarly to the case of pressing, the control unit 17 resumes the detection of the output voltage by the output detection unit 18 from the elapse of a predetermined time T1 when the connection switching signal a is switched from the L level to the H level.
- the output voltage determination process is not performed until a predetermined time T4 in which the discharge control signal b is at the H level elapses after the elapse of the predetermined time T1.
- the control unit 17 resumes the determination process of the output voltage Vs of the piezoelectric element 14 by the output detection unit 18 from the time when the discharge time T4 has elapsed by the discharge circuit 16, and prepares for the next touch input.
- the touch object is also released when it is released from the panel 11, in particular, the operation feeling of the push button switch such as a metal dome switch can be expressed more realistically. it can.
- the operation feeling of the push button switch such as a metal dome switch
- it when pressing, it can present a realistic click tactile sensation that can be felt when the metal dome buckles, and it can be felt when the metal dome returns from buckling when released.
- a realistic click feel (in this case, release feel) can be presented.
- the release tactile sensation is not necessarily the same drive signal as the click tactile sensation.
- “Cuck”, “Chip”, “Cachi”, “Bull”, “Buni”, “Bulle” described in this specification are expressions of how the operator feels in Japanese, The drive signals for actually presenting the tactile sensation are as illustrated.
- the standard for presenting the release tactile sensation can be set to be the same as the voltage standard corresponding to the load standard (for example, 1.5 N) that presents the tactile sensation at the time of pressing.
- a voltage reference corresponding to a value (for example, 1 N) that is 50% to 80% lower than a load reference that presents a tactile sensation is set.
- the operability at the time of continuous input can be remarkably improved by setting the reference for presenting the tactile sensation at the time of release to about 50% or more of the standard for presenting the tactile sensation at the time of pressing. Further, by setting the reference for presenting the tactile sensation at the time of release to approximately 80% or less of the standard for presenting the tactile sensation at the time of pressing, it is possible to cope with a minute load change in the hold state at the time of continuous input.
- the switching transistor 42 can be configured using a semiconductor relay or the like.
- the piezoelectric element 13 can have a known structure such as a monomorph, a unimorph, a bimorph, and a laminated type in accordance with the area of the panel 11, the vibration amplitude, and the like.
- the present invention can be effectively applied to an input device that functions as a touch switch that performs an on / off operation of the panel.
- the input device according to the present invention drives the piezoelectric element when the output of the piezoelectric element satisfies a criterion for presenting tactile sensation.
- the output of the piezoelectric element satisfies the standard for presenting tactile sensation, it may be when the output of the piezoelectric element reaches a reference value for presenting tactile sensation, or the output of the piezoelectric element exhibits tactile sensation. It may be when the reference value is exceeded, or when a reference value that provides tactile sensation is detected based on the output of the piezoelectric element.
- the “piezoelectric element output” is described as an output voltage, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the “piezoelectric element output” is an output current and an output power. Also good.
