  • This instrument is based on the recognition that, on the one hand, different games have a different system-related hazard potential. For example, a gaming machine is linked to short-term gains and visual appeal the fact that the player can present his profit to other players is exposed to an increased risk of gambling addiction.
  • the measuring and evaluation instrument will first of all determine a basic potential of the respective game and determine an individual potential for a certain type of player on the basis of this basic potential. Of course, this presupposes that the player can be detected, so that the same player, without necessarily having to determine and store his identity, can be assigned an individual hazard potential. If this is not the case, a game-related hazard potential must be sufficient as a basis for the addiction risk assessment.

On the other hand, not every increased game frequency is also an indicator of an increased risk of addiction of the player, but rather this can be interested even without an addictive risk to be interested in winning a big jackpot. Therefore, expediently, the measuring and evaluation instrument as comprehensively evaluate the player, so that z. Abstract
