例えば、金(Au)、銀(Ag)、白金(Pt)、パラジウム(Pd)、ロジウム(Rh)、イリジウム(Ir)の少なくとも1つから成る貴金属ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子、窒化ホウ素(BN)、窒化ガリウム(GaN)、炭窒化ホウ素(BCN)、セレン化亜鉛(ZnSe)、二硫化モリブデン(MoS2)、二硫化タングステン(WS2)の少なくとも1つから成る硫化物系ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子、五酸化バナジウム(V2O5)、二酸化ケイ素(SiO2)、二酸化チタン(TiO2)、酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)の少なくとも1つから成る酸化物系ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子、炭素原子(C)から成るカーボンナノチューブまたはナノ粒子、酸化亜鉛(ZnO)、すず(Sn)、ケイ素(Si)、亜鉛(Zn)、カドミウム(Cd)などの棒状物質である金属ナノワイヤまたはナノ粒子から選ぶことができる。

アクリル板(5cm角)に電極線(タングステン、0.06mmφ)を1cm間隔で配置し、電極板を作製した。ポリマーフィルムは紫外線硬化性樹脂(A-1669、テスク)を使用した。電極線は一本おきに電源と接地に接続した。電極線の上部をパラフィルム(登録商標、ペシニー・プラスチック・パッケージング社製)で覆った。電極板の上部にCNT(多層カーボンナノチューブ)(シグマアルドリッチ社製)を混合したポリマーとして、0.05wt%のCNTを含む紫外線硬化性樹脂を展開した。紫外線硬化性樹脂は、超音波分散器(SMT社製)を用いて6時間攪拌してCNTと混合した。電圧を印加して、同時にポリマーの重合を開始した。電圧印加は20分間行い、該電圧印加の開始から10分後に紫外線照射を30分間実施した。電源には、20/20C(トレック社)および一次電圧に50Hzの単巻変圧器であるスライダック(登録商標)を接続したネオンインバータトランス(レシップ社)を使用し、電圧は電極線距離のcmあたり4kV、周波数は28kHzを印加した。図4(a)および(b)に、得られたCNTナノコンポジットフィルムの光学顕微鏡微視像を示す。
印加電圧の周波数を変化させた測定
実施例1と同一の装置構成で電源に20/20C(トレック社)を用いて、印加電圧の周波数を50Hz、100Hz、500Hz、1kHz、2kHz、4kHz、5kHzと変化させてCNTナノコンポジットフィルムを作製した。印加電圧の大きさは、50Hzから4kHzまでは電極線間のcmあたり4kV、5kHzでは3.8kVとした。図5は、交流周波数を変化させて配向されたCNTナノコンポジットフィルムを製造した実験結果を示す。得られたCNTナノコンポジットフィルムから、図5(a)に示すように、電極線間で1cm四方の抵抗測定用切片Aを、また、電極線をまたぐように1.5cm四方の抵抗測定用切片Bを切り出した。切り出した切片AおよびBについて、印加した電界と平行な方向の抵抗率を測定した。図5(b)に得られた結果を示す。図5(b)には、実施例1で得られた結果(28kHz)も併せて記載している。
印加電圧を変化させた測定
実施例2と同一の装置構成で、印加電圧を電極線間のcmあたり1kV、2kV、3kV、4kVと変化させてCNTナノコンポジットフィルムを作製した。印加電圧の周波数は、4kHzとした。実施例2と同様に、得られたCNTナノコンポジットフィルムから図5(a)にあるように電極線間上の切片Aと電極横断上の切片Bを切り出し、電界に平行方向の抵抗率を測定した。図6は、交流電圧を変化させて配向されたCNTナノコンポジットフィルムを製造した実験結果を示す。
実施例1と同一の装置構成で、印加電圧の大きさを電極線間のcmあたり6kVとした。その結果、得られたフィルム中のCNTの配向が4kVの場合よりも小さくなった。このことから、6kVを越えない範囲で交流電圧を印加することが好適となることがわかった。
揺動の有無の比較
実施例1に、図2(d)および(e)に示した揺動手段として、クランク・ディスク、連接棒、マブチモーター,直流電源(ケンウッド製)、前記支持体3としての0.7mm厚で15cm角のテンパックス(登録商標)ガラス板を追加した装置構成で実施した。印加電圧の大きさを電極線間のcmあたり5kVとし、周波数は4kHzとした。絶縁膜移動距離を0.5cm、該移動の繰り返し時間を30秒とした。図7(a)に得られた結果を示す。図7(a)に示すように、揺動させることにより、最大102オーダーで抵抗率が減少した。
ナノチューブ濃度を変化させた測定
実施例1に、図2(d)および(e)に示した揺動手段として、クランク・ディスク、連接棒、マブチモーター,直流電源(ケンウッド製)、前記支持体3としての0.7mm厚で15cm角のテンパックス(登録商標)ガラス板を追加した装置構成で実施した。印加電圧の大きさを電極線間のcmあたり5kVとし、周波数は4kHzとした。絶縁膜移動距離を0.5cm、該移動の繰り返し時間を30秒とした。CNTの濃度が0.01wt%、0.025wt%、0.05wt%および0.1wt%の各場合について、図7(b)および図8(a)に、得られた光学顕微鏡微視像およびCNT濃度に応じた抵抗率を示す。
揺動速度を変化させた測定
実施例1に、図2(d)および(e)に示した揺動手段として、クランク・ディスク、連接棒、マブチモーター,直流電源(ケンウッド製)、前記支持体3としての0.7mm厚で15cm角のテンパックス(登録商標)ガラス板を追加した装置構成で実施した。電圧は電極線距離のcmあたり5kV、周波数は4kHzを印加した。揺動速度として、1分間の往復回数を1、4および13回(rpm)の各場合に対してCNTナノコンポジットフィルムを製造した。実験結果を図9に示す。同図(a)~(c)に示すように、揺動速度が速くなるとともに、CNTナノコンポジットフィルム内のCNTが均質化した。しかしながら、同図(d)に示すように、30rpmまで達すると、分散性が明らかに低下した。カーボンナノチューブの分散の均一性および抵抗率の観点から、4rpmで揺動動作を行うことが好ましい。
異なるポリマーを使用した測定
上記までの実施例では、ポリマーフィルムに紫外線硬化性樹脂を使用したが、本発明に係る実施形態では、紫外線硬化性樹脂に限定されないことから、熱硬化性樹脂を使用して実施した。
熱伝導率の測定
上述の実施例7に記載した装置および方法に従って、以下条件で各ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子の熱伝導率を測定した。

熱伝導率λ[W/mK]と、紫外線硬化性エポキシ樹脂に対する熱伝導率比(λ/λepoxy)に関する結果を以下に示す。このうち熱導電率比(λ/λepoxy)の結果を図10(a)に棒グラフで示す。これらの結果から、多層カーボンナノチューブやナノ粒子の場合について高い熱伝導率を有するフィルムが得られたことが分かった。
熱伝導率の測定
上述の実施例9ではカーボンナノチューブとして多層カーボンナノチューブを使用し、各添加材料(ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子)の添加量は0.5wt%以下で実施したが、本発明はこれらの条件に限定されるものではない。そこで、本実施例では、上述の実施例9に記載した装置および方法に従って、カーボンナノチューブのうち単層カーボンナノチューブの場合や、添加量をさらに増量させたナノ粒子の場合について熱伝導率を測定した。

- ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム前駆体を、支持体を介して、断面が円形の電極線から成る櫛歯電極上に載置させる載置工程と、
前記フィルム前駆体が櫛歯電極上に載置されている状態で、該櫛歯電極に交流電圧を印加する加電圧工程と、
前記フィルム前駆体をフィルム化させるフィルム形成工程とを含むことを特徴とする、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルムの製造方法。 - 加電圧工程が、櫛歯電極または支持体の少なくともいずれかを、櫛歯電極の長手方向に対して直交方向に揺動させる揺動工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項1の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルムの製造方法。
- 揺動工程が、櫛歯電極を構成する電極間の距離の0.2~1本分、櫛歯電極または支持体を移動させ、該移動方向を1~5分間隔で反転させることを特徴とする請求項2の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルムの製造方法。
- 載置工程が、櫛歯電極に向かって一定方向に順次移動させる支持体上に前記フィルム前駆体を滴下し、滴下された前記フィルム前駆体を引き延ばして櫛歯電極上に載置することから成り、
前記フィルム工程を経て形成されたナノチューブ含有フィルムを順次剥離する剥離工程とをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1~請求項3のいずれかの、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルムの製造方法。 - フィルム前駆体がポリマー前駆体またはゾルであり、フィルム形成工程が、重合法またはゾルゲル法を用いて該フィルム前駆体をフィルム化することを特徴とする請求項1~請求項4のいずれかの、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルムの製造方法。

- フィルム内に含有されたナノチューブが、空間濃度レベル依存法(SGLDM)によるテクスチャ解析で、配向方向と垂直方向の局所一様性(local homogeneity)の差が0.2以上となる配向性を有することを特徴とする請求項10の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム。
- ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子含有フィルムの電気抵抗率が5.0×105~1.0×1010(Ωm)であることを特徴とする請求項10または請求項11の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム。
- ナノチューブまたはナノ粒子が、貴金属系、硫化物系および酸化物系のナノチューブまたはナノ粒子、カーボンナノチューブおよび金属ナノワイヤから選ばれることを特徴とする請求項10~請求項12のいずれかの、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム。
- ナノチューブが、カーボンナノチューブであることを特徴とする請求項13の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム。
- ナノチューブが、多層カーボンナノチューブであることを特徴とする請求項14の、フィルムの面方向に沿って配向されたナノチューブまたはナノ粒子を含有するフィルム。
