Abstract

본 발명은 스위칭 기능을 구비한 엘시디 백라이트 유닛에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명의 목적은 광원으로부터 출사되는 광의 일부 투과, 일부 산란 및 일부 반사를 능동적으로 제어할 수 있어 종래 백라이트 유닛으로는 불가능했던 로컬 디밍(Local Dimming) 기술 및 스캐닝(Scanning) 기능을 구현할 수 있는 스위칭 기능을 구비한 엘시디 백라이트 유닛을 제공하는 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 스위칭 기능을 구비한 엘시디 백라이트 유닛은 광을 발생하는 광원과, 상기 광원으로부터 진행하는 광을 상기 액정패널 측으로 반사시키는 반사판과, 조사되는 광이 상기 액정패널의 일정 영역 내로 입사되도록 광의 진행 경로를 안내하는 프리즘 시트, 및 상기 반사판과 상기 프리즘 시트 사이에 개재되어, 입사되는 광의 선택적 투과를 제어하는 능동 확산판을 포함한다. 또한, 상기 능동 확산판은 투명전극이 패턴닝 형성되어 있는 제1 투명기판과, 액정캡슐과 바인더가 혼합되어 상기 제1 투명기판의 일면 상에 인쇄 적층된 액정캡슐층, 및 상기 액정캡슐층의 일면 상에 적층되며 투명전극이 패턴닝 형성되어 있는 제2 투명기판을 포함하도록 구성되어, 상기 투명전극 패턴에 인가되는 전원의 제어를 통해 상기 다수의 액정캡슐을 선택적으로 구동하여 액정배열을 변화시킴으로써 입사광의 선택적 투과를 조절하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
