Abstract

해더 영역과 데이터 영역으로 구성되며 상기 해더 영역에는 상기 데이터 영역에 포함된 데이터의 타입을 나타내는 타입 정보가 포함된 데이터 유닛으로 3차원 영상 데이터를 부호화하는 방법에 있어서, 3차원 영상을 제공하는 기준 시점 영상 데이터 및 부가 시점 영상 데이터를 부호화하고, 레거시 시스템에서 정의된 타입 정보들 중 하나인 제 1 유닛 타입 정보를 포함하는 해더를 부호화된 기준 시점 영상 데이터에 부가하여 제 1 데이터 유닛을 생성하며, 레거시 시스템에서 정의되지 않은 타입 정보들 중 하나인 제 2 유닛 타입 정보를 포함하는 해더를 부호화된 부가 시점 영상 데이터에 부가하여 제 2 데이터 유닛을 생성하는 데이터 부호화 방법 및 장치와 복호화 방법 및 장치가 개시된다.
