Abstract

Um einen Turboverdichter (20) für Luft, umfassend ein Verdichtergehäuse (30) und ein in dem Verdichtergehäuse angeordnetes Laufrad (40) sowie einen Antriebsmotor (60) mit einem Stator (64) und einem Rotor (66), auf dessen Rotorwelle (70) das Laufrad sitzt, derart zu verbessern, dass der Antriebsmotor in optimaler Weise gekühlt wird, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Antriebsmotor durch einen geschlossenen Kühlluftkreislauf (80) mit einem Kühlluftstrom (82) gekühlt ist und der Kühlluftstrom in dem Kühlluftkreislauf zumindest eine einen Abschnitt der Rotorwelle durchsetzende Kühlbohrung (86) durchströmt.
