Abstract

본 발명은 터치패널(10) 상에서 인체의 손가락, 도전체 또는 터치펜과 같은 터치수단(90)의 접촉 또는 접근을 검출하여 입력신호를 생성하는 터치입력 인식방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 터치입력 인식방법은 (a) 제1터치입력을 검출하는 단계; (b) 제1터치입력이 검출된 영역의 면적을 산출하는 단계; (c) 제1터치입력 이후에 소정 시간 간격을 두고 발생하는 제2터치입력을 검출하는 단계; (d) 제2터치입력이 검출된 영역의 면적을 산출하는 단계; 및 (e) 제1터치입력과 제2터치입력의 면적 변화를 판단하여 주밍(zooming)신호를 생성하는 단계;를 포함하여 구성되며, 이에 따르면 터치입력의 면적 변화에 따라 주밍신호를 생성함으로써, 줌(zoom) 제스처 구현이 매우 간편하며, 하나의 손가락만으로 줌(zoom) 제스처를 구현할 수 있어 터치입력 동작이 간결하게 이루어질 수 있는 효과를 갖는다.
