Abstract

본 발명은 이차 전지용 전극활물질로 이용 가능한 복합체 및 이를 이용하는 이차 전지에 관한 것으로서, 상기 복합체는 리튬과 가역적으로 합금화가 가능한 금속 및 준금속 중에서 선택된 제1 물질; 리튬과 합금화가 불가능한 금속과, 상기 금속 함유 화합물, 및 리튬과 비가역적으로 합금화가 가능한 금속 함유 화합물 및 준금속 함유 화합물 중에서 선택된 제2 물질; 및 상기 제2 물질보다 전기 전도도가 높은 금속인 제3 물질을 포함하되, 상기 제3 물질을 상기 복합체의 전체 중량을 기준으로 10 내지 10,000 ppm 범위로 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 복합체는, 상기 제3 물질로 인해서 전기 전도도가 높아지고 복합체 내부 물질들 간에 전기전도 경로가 형성되기 때문에, 전지의 충방전시 복합체의 부피 변화가 균일하고, 이로 인해 전극의 두께 변화가 최소화될 수 있으며, 또한 이차 전지용 전극활물질로 이용시 전지의 수명 특성이 향상될 수 있다.
