- the E value is a ratio of the Ca content to the S content necessary for fixing S as CaS considering that Ca forms an oxide. That is, the ratio of Ca content, S content and O content when calcium-based oxides and sulfides are formed. If this E value is less than 0.10, the S content is excessive, so the cleanliness of the steel is lowered, and the sulfide becomes the starting point of cracks during processing and fatigue cracks after quenching. On the other hand, in order to make the E value more than 2.50, it is necessary to reduce the S content as much as possible, resulting in an increase in manufacturing cost.
- the E value is in the range of 0.10 to 2.50.
- the E value is preferably 0.25 or more, more preferably 0.30 or more. From the viewpoint of production cost, the E value is preferably 1.0 or less.

- the average particle diameter of the calcium inclusions 10 ⁇ m or less and the density 300 pieces / mm 2 .
- the S content and the oxygen (O) content contained in the steel must be reduced.
- the preferable lower limit of the average particle diameter of the calcium inclusions is 1.1 ⁇ m or more.
- the ERW welded part has a martensite-based structure, and the ERW welded part has a hardness of the base metal part. It is higher compared.
- the difference ( ⁇ Hv) between the maximum hardness of the ERW weld portion measured by Vickers hardness and the average hardness of the base material portion is 100 ⁇ ⁇ Hv ⁇ 500 It is necessary to satisfy this relationship.
- the base metal part which is the soft phase near the ERW welded part, is strained during processing. As a result, there is a case where local deformation proceeds and breaks. In order to prevent such breakage, it is necessary to set the difference ⁇ Hv in hardness to 500 or less.
- the ERW welded part in the tube-formed state is composed mainly of martensite, and its hardness is mainly composed of chemical components such as the C amount of steel and specific heat input of ERW welding. Depends on (welding power per unit length), base metal plate thickness, etc.
- the higher the C content or carbon equivalent the higher the maximum hardness of the ERW weld.
- the maximum hardness of the ERW welded portion increases as the specific heat input decreases and as the plate thickness increases.
- the chemical composition and the plate thickness of the base metal affect the product characteristics after the ERW steel pipe is processed into parts, and therefore cannot be freely selected. Therefore, specific heat input is selected according to the chemical composition and thickness of the base material to adjust the maximum hardness of the welded portion so that ⁇ Hv is 500 or less.
- the lower limit of ⁇ Hv does not have to be specified in particular. : Considering the value of ⁇ Hv in the lower limit range of 0.15%, it is set to 100 or more.

- the upper limit of the thickness of the ERW steel pipe is 12 mm or less.
- ERW steel pipes 1 to 15 having an outer diameter of 38.1 mm and a wall thickness of 8.0 mm were manufactured.
- induction hardening was implemented after ERW welding, heat processing, such as normalization, was not performed after quenching.
- samples were cut out from the ERW welded part and the base metal part of the ERW steel pipe and mirror polished.
- the measurement area of 1000 ⁇ m ⁇ 1000 ⁇ m was measured by EPMA with 1000 ⁇ 1000 measurement points, and the density of the calcium-based inclusions in the base material of the ERW steel pipe and the welded portion was obtained.
- the SEM photograph was image-analyzed and it calculated
- the fatigue characteristics after quenching were evaluated by a torsional fatigue test.
- the electric resistance welded steel pipe was quenched by water cooling from the outer surface side, and then the rotational torque was made constant at 13 kNm, and the number of repetitions was evaluated. The number of repetitions varies depending on the test conditions. Under the conditions of this example, it was evaluated that the fatigue characteristics after quenching were good when the number of repetitions was 1.5 ⁇ 10 8 or more.
- the steel pipes 1 to 11 of the present invention manufactured using the steels A to K have the Vickers hardness difference ⁇ H between the welded portion and the base metal portion within the range of the present invention, and are processed by a compression test. And the fatigue characteristics after quenching by the torsional fatigue test are also good.
- the steel pipes 12 to 15 of the comparative examples manufactured using the steels L to O all have chemical components, the average particle diameter of calcium-based inclusions, and the number density outside the scope of the present invention. Fatigue properties are inferior.
- Steel L which is a comparative example, has a low C content, lowers the hardenability and lowers the strength after quenching, and therefore the steel pipe 12 manufactured using the steel has poor fatigue properties after quenching. . Since the steel M as a comparative example has a high S content, the manufactured steel pipe 13 has a high number density of calcium-based inclusions in the electric resistance welded portion and the base metal portion, and is subjected to a compression test and twisting. In fatigue tests, calcium inclusions are the starting point of cracking, and workability and fatigue properties after quenching are inferior.
- Steel N which is a comparative example, has an excessive Ca content and a high E value.
- the manufactured steel pipe 14 has a high number density of calcium-based inclusions in the electric resistance welded portion and the base metal portion. Similarly, workability and fatigue properties after quenching are inferior.
- Steel O which is a comparative example, has a low Ca content and a low E value. Therefore, the calcium-based inclusions in the electro-welded welded part and the base metal part of the manufactured steel pipe 15 become coarse, and the number density increases. Similarly, workability and fatigue properties after quenching are inferior.
- ERW steel pipes 16 to 30 having the same shape as in Example 1 were produced in the same manner as in Example 1. Measure the Vickers hardness of the welded parts and base metal parts of ERW steel pipes 16 to 30 to obtain the maximum hardness of the ERW welded parts and the average hardness of the base metal parts, and from the ERW welded parts and the base metal parts Samples were cut out, and the density and average particle diameter of calcium-based inclusions in the base material of the ERW steel pipe and the welded portion were obtained in the same manner as in Example 1. Moreover, the test which evaluates the workability and the fatigue characteristics after hardening similarly to Example 1 was implemented.
- the steel pipes 16 to 26 of the examples of the present invention manufactured using the steels A1 to K1 have the difference ⁇ H in the Vickers hardness between the welded portion and the base metal portion within the range of the present invention, and are processed by a compression test. And the fatigue characteristics after quenching by the torsional fatigue test are also good.
- comparative steel pipes 27 to 30 manufactured using steels L1 to O1 have workability and fatigue characteristics after quenching because the chemical composition, the average particle diameter of calcium inclusions, and the number density are out of the scope of the present invention. Is inferior.
- Steel L1 which is a comparative example, has a low amount of C and deteriorated hardenability, and the fatigue characteristics of the steel pipe 27 after quenching manufactured using the steel are inferior.
- Steel M1 which is a comparative example, has a high amount of S
- steel N1 has an excessive amount of Ca, and has a high E value. The number density is high.
- the steel O1 which is a comparative example has a low E value
- the Ca-based inclusions in the electric-welded welded part and the base metal part of the manufactured steel pipe 30 are coarse, and the number density is also high. Therefore, in the steel pipes 28 to 30 of the comparative examples using the steels M, N, and O, in the compression test and the fatigue test, the Ca-based inclusion becomes a starting point of cracking, and the workability and fatigue characteristics are inferior.

Abstract
Description
0.10≦[Ca](1−124[O])/1.25[S]≦2.50

100≦ΔHv≦500
