Definitions
- the present invention relates to the material transport industry on conveyor belts and in particular with a device for the continuous regulation of gauges, fixed on a conveyor belt structure.
- conveyor belts or belts of various dimensions and capacities are used. Both in the feeding areas and in the transfer areas between belts, as well as along them, protective skirts (or gualderas) installed on both sides and longitudinally with respect to the belt are used, in order to maintain the transported material confined to the surface of the belt, preventing its spillage outside it in the structure, the heads, the ground, etc.
- the operation of the belt itself causes that the transported material, which is introduced between the belt and the gualdera, generates a strong abrasion in the band, generating a wear of the same and, therefore, an increasing separation between the tape and the gualderas, which prevents the adequate protection of the spill and therefore increasing the flow of the spilled material.
- the present applicant has developed a very high hardness shelf, resistant to the strong abrasion of the material transported in the patent application CL 3040-2007, which considerably slows the increasing separation between the belt and said groove. Additionally, said very high hardness must be adjusted precisely above the conveyor belt. Therefore, in order to control this separation between the conveyor belt and the gualdera, a height adjustment device of the gualdera fixed to a structure of conveyor belts is necessary.
- US Patent 5,913,404 discloses in a conveyor belt system that uses a floating sealing rack to prevent spillage of bulk materials from the belt, a plurality of mechanisms used to exert a downward pressure along the edge upper of a sealing gualdera. These forces press the sealing gutter against the belt, and keeps the seal between the gualdera and the belt throughout the length of the gualdera.
- the present invention corresponds to a device for the regulation of gaps in a structure (B) of conveyor belts comprising fixing means (F) between a rack (C), the structure of the conveyor belt and said device; upper support means (1) for fixing the device to the structure (B) of the conveyor belt with the fixing means (F); lower support means (2) where the groove (C) is fixed by the fixing means (F) through the structure (B) of the conveyor belt; a regulating screw (3) that allows the gualdera to be raised or lowered (C); a regulation nut (4) integral with the upper support means (1) to allow the rise or fall of the adjustment screw (3); a bushing holder (5) integral with the lower support means (2); a bushing (6) installed in the bushing holder (5), which allows the regulation screw (3) to rotate with respect to the lower support means (2); a neck (7) to avoid rubbing the adjustment screw (3) with the bushing holder (5); counter-nut (8) for fixing the position of the adjustment screw (3); torque means (9) for rotating said regulating screw (3); and
- the present invention makes it possible to use and regulate a very high hardness in conveyor belts allowing a minimum and sufficient space between the conveyor belt and the gualdera without generating contact between both elements, so that it is feasible to use very high high hardness that have a much longer useful life than the gualdera used in regulating devices of the prior art.
