Abstract
Description
以前、本発明者らは、新規な脂環式ビニルエーテル重合体であるノルボルネニルビニルエーテル重合体に関する報告を行った(特開2008−260915号公報参照)。
また、一般的にノルボルネンは、下記式のように、retro Diels−Alder反応を行うことによりシクロペンタジエンとエチレンになることが知られている。
上述のことを基に、ノルボルネニルビニルエーテル重合体におけるretro Diels−Alder反応を鋭意検討した結果、下記式のように反応が進行することを見出し、本発明を完成させるに至った。
(式中、mは0以上の整数、好ましくは0~2400の整数、より好ましくは0~60の整数で、nは1以上の整数、好ましくは1~1600の整数、より好ましくは1~40の整数である。)
すなわち、本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体は、下記式(I)で表される構成単位:
を含んでなる重合体である。

本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体は、側鎖にビニルオキシ基を有する下記式(I)で表される構成単位を含有するものである。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体は、下記式(IV)で表されるノルボルネニルビニルエーテル由来の構成単位を含有する重合体を前駆体とし、この前駆体のretro Diels−Alder反応によって得られる。
すなわち、本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体は、下記式(I)で表される構成単位を含んでなる重合体である。
また、本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体は、下記(a)および(b)の構成単位を含んでなる重合体である。

また、本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体がビニルエーテル由来の構成単位を含む場合には、同時に異なる2種以上のビニルエーテル由来の構成単位を含有しても良い。
前記式(III)の置換基R1は一価の有機基を示し、具体的にはメチル、エチル、n−プロピル、イソプロピル、n−ブチル、sec−ブチル、tert−ブチル、イソブチル、1−エチルプロピル、ネオペンチル、n−ヘキシル、2−エチルヘキシル、ドデシル、オクタデシルなどの炭素数1~20のアルキル基、アリル、プロペニル、イソプロペニルなどの炭素数3~20のアルケニル基、シクロヘキシル、シクロヘキシルメチル、ノルボルニル、ノルボルニルメチル、アダマンチルなどの炭素数3~20の飽和若しくは不飽和の環状炭化水素基、−(R2O)p−R3、(但し、pは1~5の整数、R2は炭素数2~10の鎖状若しくは環状の飽和または不飽和の炭化水素基、R3はアルキル基、アルケニル基、アラルキル基、アシル基を示す)を挙げることができる。
前記式(III)で表されるビニルエーテルの典型例としては、メチルビニルエーテル、エチルビニルエーテル、n−プロピルビニルエーテル、イソプロピルビニルエーテル、n−ブチルビニルエーテル、sec−ブチルビニルエーテル、tert−ブチルビニルエーテル、イソブチルビニルエーテル、(1−エチルプロピル)ビニルエーテル、ネオペンチルビニルエーテル、n−ヘキシルビニルエーテル、シクロヘキシルビニルエーテル、(シクロヘキシルメチル)ビニルエーテル、2−エチルヘキシルビニルエーテル、ドデシルビニルエーテル、オクタデシルビニルエーテル、アリルビニルエーテル、ノルボルニルビニルエーテル、ノルボルニルメチルビニルエーテル、ノルボルネニルメチルビニルエーテル、2−アセトキシエチルビニルエーテル、4−アセトキシブチルビニルエーテル、4−アセトキシシクロヘキシルビニルエーテル、1−アセトキシメチル−4−シクロヘキシルメチルビニルエーテル、アセトキシジエチレングリコールモノビニルエーテル、アセトキシトリエチレングリコールモノビニルエーテル等が挙げられるが、何らこれらに限定されるものではない。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の重量平均分子量は、重合が容易であることから150~500,000であることが好ましく、より好ましくは、150~100,000、更に好ましくは、150~10,000である。
〔本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体の合成方法〕
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体の合成方法としては、特に制限はなく、カチオン重合等、公知の合成法を用いることができる。また、重合度の制御が容易で、且つ、単分散に近い重合体が得られ、ブロック共重合体が得られることで知られるリビングカチオン重合法を用いても良い。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体の合成に使用するカチオン重合触媒としては、例えば「講座重合反応論第3巻(東村敏延著、化学同人、1974年)」に記載されている、プロトン酸、金属酸化物、ハロゲン、ハロゲン化金属、有機金属化合物、安定カチオン等を利用することができる。すなわち、プロトン酸としては塩化水素、硫酸、トリフルオロ酢酸、トリフルオロメタンスルホン酸、金属酸化物としては、酸化鉄、ハロゲンとしてはヨウ素、ハロゲン化金属としては、三フッ化ホウ素、塩化亜鉛、四塩化スズ、塩化鉄、四塩化チタン、有機金属化合物としては、エチルアルミニウムクロリドを使用することができるが、これらに限定されるものではない。これらの中でも、塩化水素、トリフルオロメタンスルホン酸、三フッ化ホウ素、塩化亜鉛、塩化鉄を使用することが好ましい。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体の合成に使用するリビングカチオン重合触媒としては、例えば「実験化学講座第26巻(第5版、丸善、2005年)」に記載されている、開始剤、ルイス酸、塩基、塩等を利用することができる。すなわち、開始剤としてビニルエーテル−塩化水素付加体、ビニルエーテル−トリフルオロ酢酸付加体、ビニルエーテル−酢酸付加体、ルイス酸として、塩化亜鉛、四塩化スズ、塩化鉄、四塩化チタン、塩基として酢酸エチル、ジエチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、1,4−ジオキサン、塩として4級アンモニウム塩等を利用することができるが、これらに限定されるものではない。これらの中でも、開始剤としてビニルエーテル−塩化水素付加体、ビニルエーテル−トリフルオロ酢酸付加体、ルイス酸として、塩化亜鉛、塩化鉄塩基として酢酸エチル、ジエチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、1,4−ジオキサンを使用することが好ましい。
開始剤、ルイス酸、添加塩基、添加塩の組み合わせとしては、開始剤に比較的弱いルイス酸を組み合わせた開始剤系、開始剤に比較的強いルイス酸を組み合わせた開始剤系にルイス塩基を添加する系、開始剤に比較的強いルイス酸を組み合わせた開始剤系に求核性アニオンの塩を添加する系が挙げられるが、これらのうちの何れを用いても良い。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体を合成する重合反応では、適当な有機溶媒の存在下で行うことが好ましいが、非存在下で行っても良い。前記有機溶媒としては、例えばベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素系溶媒、プロパン、n−ブタン、イソブタン、n−ペンタン、イソペンタン、n−ヘキサン、n−ヘプタン、n−オクタン、イソオクタン、デカン、ヘキサデカン等の脂肪族炭化水素系溶媒、塩化メチレン、塩化エチレン、四塩化炭素等のハロゲン化炭化水素系溶媒、ジエチルエーテル、ジブチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン、エチレングリコールジエチルエーテル等のエーテル系溶媒が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。また、前記有機溶媒は必要に応じて単独又は2種以上を組み合わせて使用しても良い。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体を合成する重合反応は、バッチ式、連続式などの任意の方法で行うことができる。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体を合成する際の重合温度は、使用する重合開始剤、モノマー、溶媒の種類等に応じて適宜選択できるが、通常−80~150℃であり、好ましくは−50~100℃、特に好ましくは−20~80℃である。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体の前駆体を合成する際の重合時間は、使用する重合開始剤、モノマー、溶媒、反応温度等に応じて適宜選択できるが、通常1秒~100時間、好ましくは1秒~24時間程度である。
本発明におけるビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体を生成する、retro Diels−Alder反応方法としては、特に制限はなく、オイルバス、マントルヒーター、ヒーティングガン、マイクロウェーブ、赤外線の加熱手段を用いて減圧下に加熱する等、公知の方法を用いることができる。
本明細書中において、「数平均分子量(以下Mnと略す)」とは、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(以下GPCと略す)を用いた標準ポリスチレン換算法により算出するものである。
合成例1
〔ノルボルネニルビニルエーテル単独重合体の合成〕
十分乾燥し窒素置換を行った重合管に、ノルボルネニルビニルエーテル749mg(5.5mmol)、トルエン4.0mL、ジエチルエーテル0.23mLを仕込み、0℃に冷却した。20分後、トリフルオロ酢酸63mg(0.55mmol)を添加した。30分後、塩化亜鉛のジエチルエーテル溶液(1mol/L)0.22mL(0.22mmol)を添加して重合を開始した。1分後、アンモニアのメタノール溶液(1mol/L)0.50mLを添加し重合停止反応を行った。反応終了後、反応液をジエチルエーテルで希釈して、脱イオン水で3回洗浄し、溶媒の減圧除去を行って、目的物であるノルボルネニルビニルエーテル単独重合体698mgを得た。
得られた重合体は、東ソー(株)製のポリスチレンを標準物質として用いたGPC測定(以下同じ)により、Mn:1060であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例2
〔エチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、エチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1010であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例3
〔n−ブチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、n−ブチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1030であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例4
〔イソブチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、イソブチルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1080であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例5
〔シクロヘキシルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、シクロヘキシルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1120であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例6
〔アリルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、アリルビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1050であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
合成例7
〔アセトキシジエチレングリコールビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルの共重合体の合成〕
モノマーを、アセトキシジエチレングリコールビニルエーテルとノルボルネニルビニルエーテルのモル組成比が90/10である混合モノマーに変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ触媒、溶媒を用いて、同一モル比、モル濃度とし、重合反応温度、重合反応時間、重合後の処理方法も同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1220であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、ビニルエーテル基に由来するビニル基のピークは消失し、5.9−6.4ppmにノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例1
合成例1で得られたノルボルネニルビニルエーテル重合体200mgをナスフラスコに仕込み、3方コックを取り付けて窒素置換した。その後、真空ポンプにて1mbarまで減圧し、ヒーティングガンを用いて400℃にて5分間加熱した。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:900であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例2
合成例2で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:980であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例3
合成例3で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:990であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例4
合成例4で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1040であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例5
合成例2で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1080であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例6
合成例6で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1020であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。
実施例7
合成例7で得られた共重合体に変更した以外は、合成例1と全く同じ条件にて目的物を得た。
得られた重合体はGPC測定により、Mn:1180であった。さらに、得られた重合体の1HNMR測定を行ったところ、5.9−6.4ppmのノルボルネニル基のビニル基に由来するピークが減少し、4.3ppmと4.0ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められ、13CNMR測定においても、152ppmと88ppmにビニルオキシ基に由来するピークが認められた。

- 前記式(III)で表されるビニルエーテルが、メチルビニルエーテル、エチルビニルエーテル、n−プロピルビニルエーテル、イソプロピルビニルエーテル、n−ブチルビニルエーテル、sec−ブチルビニルエーテル、tert−ブチルビニルエーテル、イソブチルビニルエーテル、(1−エチルプロピル)ビニルエーテル、ネオペンチルビニルエーテル、n−ヘキシルビニルエーテル、シクロヘキシルビニルエーテル、(シクロヘキシルメチル)ビニルエーテル、2−エチルヘキシルビニルエーテル、ドデシルビニルエーテル、オクタデシルビニルエーテル、アリルビニルエーテル、ノルボルニルビニルエーテル、ノルボルネニルビニルエーテル、ノルボルニルメチルビニルエーテル、ノルボルネニルメチルビニルエーテル、2−アセトキシエチルビニルエーテル、4−アセトキシシクロヘキシルビニルエーテル、1−アセトキシメチル−4−シクロヘキシルメチルビニルエーテル、アセトキシジエチレングリコールモノビニルエーテル、アセトキシトリエチレングリコールモノビニルエーテルからなる群より選択される請求項3または4に記載のビニルオキシ基含有ビニル共重合体。
- 請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載のビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体を含有するインク組成物。
- 請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載のビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体を含有する医療用粘着剤。
- 請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載のビニルオキシ基含有ビニル重合体を含有するコーティング用組成物。
