Definitions
- the present invention relates to a capsule for a bottle closure that has the ability to be removed by tearing.
- the configuration of the capsule according to the invention allows offering a large area for the inclusion of advertising.
- the capsule is configured in two parts such that; Once the upper part is removed by tearing, the lower part is kept stable in position.
- This capsule is at the same time a guarantee seal that evidences very significantly whether the cap bottle has been opened or not.
- closures that include a first means of tight sealing often require a few second closures with various additional functions.
- WO0007898 in which a capsule is additionally incorporated into a cap closure incorporated into a bottleneck with a pouring spout, prepared to prevent fraudulent refilling.
- This capsule has a special configuration of fixation and tearing means for its removal.
- the capsule has a line of perimeter weakening that gives rise to two portions: an upper one and a lower one.
- the upper portion has two vertical weakening lines, with the weakening incorporated in the inner part of the capsule surface, in which at least one of them intersects the first perimeter line.
- the perimeter weakening line establishes a division such that both above and below are found means that prevent the capsule from ascending according to the axial direction.
- the vertical tear requires an upper flange from which the break starts and then continue along the side vertically until the line of weakness that intersects with the perimeter line. Once the tear has progressed to this point, maintaining it results in an advance in the breakage of the lateral weakening line until it exceeds the entire perimeter.
- the presence of the upper flange prevents the use of said surface for the incorporation of advertising making use of the entire upper area of the capsule.
- Tearing of this type of capsule also requires two changes of direction: from horizontal to vertical; and, from the vertical to the final perimeter section.
- the present invention establishes a configuration of a capsule that results in a closure that overcomes these drawbacks.
- the present invention consists of a capsule capable of establishing a closure on bottles incorporating a spout.
- This spout can incorporate, for example, means that prevent fraudulent refilling of the contents of the bottle.
- the pourer is not an independent part but is integrated in the configuration of the mouth of the bottle.
- the capsule can be applied directly on the bottle.
- the capsule is from which at least one of the parts is detached by a tearing operation leaving the bottle cap accessible.
- a tearing operation leaving the bottle cap accessible.
- the capsule After tearing, the capsule is divided into two sections, a lower one that is attached to the neck of the bottle and a second upper section that is the one that comes off.
- the object of the invention is the particular way of achieving these objectives through a configuration that allows the lower part to always maintain an axial retention with respect to the bottle and that the upper section at no time has direct connection with the bottle, only through of the lower portion that has a temporary joint until the tearing operation is carried out.
- the characteristics related to its configuration are considered essential, which must be such that the capsule must be formed by two sections joined together and detachable after a tearing operation in the first opening of the closure, therefore it must comprise: a first lower section in the form of an external skirt designed to remain fixed to the bottle after tearing; and, • a second removable upper section through the tearing operation, where the first lower section of the capsule has fixing means intended to be attached either to a bottle spout or directly to the bottle giving rise to axial retention in both directions and with the ability to remain attached to the spout or to the bottle after the tearing operation; and, the second upper section of the capsule, has a tear band on the lateral face thereof defined by two lines of weakening, these lines of weakening being located above, according to the axial direction, of the fixing means that join the lower section of the capsule and the spout.
- the upper section and the lower section of said capsule are detachable in the tearing operation through the lower weakening line that defines the band.
- the band is therefore considered as part of the upper section.
- the closure constituted from this capsule is also considered within the invention.
- the closure comprises a capsule according to any of the embodiments of the capsule as well as: • a spout to place on the neck of the bottle (the spout can be integrated in the bottle), a cap capable of engaging on the spout to allow the tight seal.
- the capsule is placed covering the assembly formed by the spout and the cap with a configuration such that: the lower section of the capsule establishes a permanent union with the spout or the bottle, that is, it remains after the tearing operation; and, the upper section of the capsule is free of links with the landfill before and after the tearing operation.
- This capsule is at the same time a guarantee seal that evidences very significantly whether the cap bottle has been opened or not. If the bottle has been opened, it will be known because the capsule will lack the upper section. If not, the capsule will be complete.
- Figure 1 shows in elevation a first embodiment of the invention seen in section where the neck of the bottle is represented with the closure that prevents fraudulent filling as well as the capsule.
- Figure 2 shows in elevation the same example of embodiment seen externally where the presence of the flange is perceived that favors the elimination of part of the capsule.
- Figure 3 shows the same example in elevation of embodiment where the upper section of the capsule appears detached.
- Figure 4 shows the same view as the previous figure where the assembly without the upper section of the capsule is now in section.
- Figure 5 is an elevation with a sectional view of the capsule without the presence of the internal assembly allowing to see the protrusion that constitutes the retention means with the spout. This same figure includes a detail of the section of the projection.
- Figure 6 is a sectional elevation of a second embodiment of the invention in which the way of starting the weakening lines that define the root of the removable band of the capsule changes.
- Figure 7 is a sectional elevation and a plan view also in section of a third embodiment of the invention in which the weakening lines comprise three consecutive sectors.
- Figure 8a, 8b and 8c show the elevation in section, plan and profile turned 90 ° of a fourth embodiment of the capsule.
- internal nerves have been incorporated that prevent the tearing of the upper part from being torn apart and completely detached.
- FIG. 1 A first embodiment of the invention is shown in Figures 1 to 5.
- a boat neck is observed.
- This set is mainly formed by a spout (3) that has a skirt (3.1) whose internal face has means (3.1.1) for rotation retention with respect to the bottle (1).
- a chassis (2) is retained that retains a valve (4) to prevent fraudulent refilling, as well as two balls (2.1) that increase safety against refilling fraudulent offered by the valve (4).
- the pourer (3) is closed by a plug (5) with which it maintains a connection through a thread (3.3, 5.1).
- the internal closure assembly plus the cap (5) are covered by a capsule (6) detachable in two portions or sections, one upper and one lower; the latter in the form of an external skirt (6.5).
- skirt (6.5) that has a perimeter projection (6.1) on its inner face intended to be inserted into an external perimeter groove (3.2) of the pourer (3).
- This perimeter projection (6.1) does not necessarily have to be continuous but, as seen in Figure 5, can be discontinuous.
- the section of the Perimeter line (6.1) has a small angle ( ⁇ ) of inclination in the lower face that facilitates the insertion of the capsule (6) on the pourer (3).
- this perimeter projection (6.1) operating together with the groove (3.2) also perimeter of the pourer (3) is such that it offers retention in both axial directions (according to the position shown in the figures) both ascending and falling.
- the upper part of the capsule (6) is detachable by means of two weakening lines (6.2) between which a band (6.3) is defined.
- the weakening lines (6.2) may for example consist of breakable bridges.
- the two weakening lines (6.2) are parallel giving rise to a band (6.3) of constant width that ends in a gripping tongue (6.3.1) that facilitates the start of tearing of the band (6.3).
- this section (6.4) is not essential for the indicated tearing mode because, during said tearing, once more than half of the points that join the band (6.3) with the extreme portion (6.6) of the section are broken superior, both (6.3, 6.6) are linked to each other through the stretch of points that have not yet been broken.
- the lower one is always above the fixing projection (6.1) so that the fixing of the skirt (6.5) is always secured, even having removed the upper section of the capsule (6) .
- the end portion (6.6) of the upper section preferably in the form of a disk, is capable of being used for advertising use by printing or embossing by giving an example.
- the band (6.3) is not necessarily defined between two lines of weakening (6.2) arranged parallel but; in their initial section, they have (6.2) an inclination that deflects the final tearing of the band (6.3) towards the upper disc by means of an oblique section (6.3.2) without the band (6.3) being disconnected from the upper portion of the capsule (6).
- the perimeter projection (6.1) inside the capsule (6) is continuous and is maintained according to the invention under the lower weakening line (6.2) which gives rise to the band (6.3) of torn.
- a third embodiment is shown in Figure 7 in which the weakening lines (6.2) are parallel to each other although they do not continue along the entire perimeter of the capsule (6), but comprise at least two consecutive sectors, that in the example shown in the figure are specified in three sectors.
- This division of the band (6.3) into sectors has the advantage that if an adhesive tape is placed on the capsule (6), indicative for example of the corresponding taxes, one of the ends of the adhesive tape could fall on the grip tab (6.3.1) making it difficult to open the capsule (6). By including more than one tongue (6.3.1) to be held in the band (6.3), the user will be allowed access to another (6.3.1) that was not covered by said adhesive tape.
- Another advantage that derives from this third embodiment is that, since the band (6.3) is comprised of several sectors, the opening of the bottle is more clearly evidenced, since it makes more complex a subsequent attempt to locate each of the sectors in their initial position to hide the opening of the bottle.
- the end portion (6.6) of the upper section of the capsule (6) comprises a hole (6.6.1) that in the embodiment shown has a circular shape and is coaxial with the upper part of the cap (5), so that it would leave at sight it, allowing visual access to the plug (5).
- a particular mode of linking between the band (6.3) and the end portion (6.6) of the upper section has been established.
- This linkage is established by one or more ribs (6.7) (two in the example) of very small thickness.
- the function of these nerves is to show a thickness greater than that of the wall on which they are located.
- the ribs (6.7) are not cut and maintain the bond between the band (6.3) and the portion (6.6) end of upper section even after tearing.
- the bottle (1) is not shown, a design has been proposed that is suitable for applying directly on the bottle (1). It is this bottle (1) that incorporates a groove for the entrance of the projection (6.1) internal fixation to the skirt (6.5). The landfill is in this case integrated in the way the bottle adopts in its pouring mouth.
