Abstract

 本発明の画像処理装置は、カラーモザイクフィルタ201、および、異なる少なくとも3種の角度の透過偏波面を有する複数の偏光子単位がカラーモザイクフィルタ201内の同一色(G)の複数の画素に設けられたパターン化偏光子202を有する単板カラー撮像素子をを備えている。また、この装置は、上記構成の単板カラー撮像素子を有するカラー偏光取得部101と、G画素において偏光子単位を透過した光の輝度と偏光子単位の透過偏波面の角度との関係を正弦関数で近似する偏光情報処理部103と、カラー輝度の補間を行うことにより注目画素で得られないカラー輝度を得てカラー輝度画像を生成するカラーモザイク補間部102を備えている。
