Abstract

 液晶表示装置は、相互に対向して配置された第1及び第2基板と、第1及び第2基板間に挟持され、光又は熱により重合する重合性成分を含有する液晶層と、を有し、液晶層の重合性成分は、通常駆動時に透過率-駆動電圧特性が高電圧側にシフトする画素に対応する領域に、シフト量と同等以上透過率-駆動電圧特性が低電圧側にシフトするように所定の電圧をかけた状態で重合されている。
