Abstract

 本発明の液晶表示装置は、垂直配向型の液晶層32を有する液晶表示装置であって、画素電極12は複数の単位電極部12aを有し、複数の単位電極部12aのそれぞれは、導電膜と導電膜に形成された複数のスリット13を有する。画素電極と対向電極との間に所定の電圧が印加されたときに、複数の単位電極部のそれぞれに対応する液晶ドメインが形成され、液晶ドメイン内の液晶分子は略放射状に傾斜した配向状態をとる。そのことによって、広視野角で且つ応答特性に優れる。
