Abstract

 本発明により、20000~30000の紡糸孔を有する紡糸口金を用いて紡糸して得た凝固糸ストランドを、空気の吹出し圧が20~60kPaのインターレースノズル中を通過させて前駆体繊維を得た後、これを加熱空気中200~280°Cで酸化処理して酸化繊維を得、この酸化繊維を不活性ガス雰囲気中、温度300~900°Cで、1.03~1.06の延伸倍率で一次延伸し、その後0.9~1.01の延伸倍率で二次延伸する第一炭素化処理を行い、次いで不活性ガス雰囲気中、1360~2100°Cで第二炭素化処理を行ない、その後無機酸塩水溶液中で炭素繊維1g当りの電気量20~100クーロンで表面酸化処理して製造される、ストランド引張り強度が5650MPa以上、ストランド引張り弾性率が300GPa以上、ストランド幅が5.5mm以上、ストランド割れ評価方法においてストランド割れが観察されない炭素繊維ストランドが開示される。
