Abstract

 カテーテルは、1.4~1.6mmの外径を有し、血管内に挿入して単独で使用されるものである。このカテーテルは、内層と外層とそれらの間に位置する補強材層とを有するカテーテル本体と、カテーテル本体の先端側に設けられ、カテーテル本体よりも柔軟性に富むソフトチップとを備えている。カテーテル本体は、その先端部に、湾曲形状をなし、湾曲形状により血管の分岐部に係合し得る湾曲部を有し、湾曲部は、内層と外層と補強材層との平均総厚を60~100μm、かつ、外層の平均最小厚さを8~30μmとし、これにより、湾曲部を分岐部より末梢側に押し進めた際に血管の末梢側の部分における形状に対応して変形するよう構成されている。
