Abstract

 書き換え型記録層(L0層)および追記型記録層(L1層)を備えている情報記録媒体および該情報記録媒体の記録再生を好適に行うための記録再生装置を提供する。上記書き換え型記録層(L0層)には、ユーザ情報のほか、上記追記型記録層(L1層)のユーザ情報の記録および再生を管理するための管理情報のうち更新され得る管理情報を記録するための記録領域(TDMA)が配置されている。これにより、追記型記録層を備えている情報記録媒体であって、追記型記録層の管理情報を容易かつ効率よく記録し得る情報記録媒体、および該情報記録媒体の記録再生装置を提供する。
