Abstract
レーザー光を対物レンズを介して媒体に照射し、反射光から得るデータをPRML識別方式によって再生する再生信号を評価する際に、クロックタイミング毎にレーザー光の反射光から得るデータをサンプリングしてサンプリング値を得るサンプリングステップと、PRML識別方式のPRクラスの拘束長が偶数となる場合に、クロックタイミング順に隣り合う2つのサンプリング値を少なくとも利用して、評価用の中間サンプリング値を算出するステップを備えるようにする。これにより、PRML識別方式を利用する場合の客観的な評価方法を提供し、記録媒体や再生装置の選定を容易化する。
