　ヘッドサスペンション（２２）は平板状のジンバル（４８）を有する。ジンバル（４８）の表面には固定片（５１）が支持される。固定片（５１）から浮上ヘッドスライダ（２３）に向かって第１腕片（５３）および第２腕片（５４）は延びる。第１腕片（５３）には板状の第１可撓部（５３ａ）が区画される。第１可撓部（５３ａ）はジンバル（４８）の表面に直交する第１仮想平面（５５）に沿って広がる。第２腕片（５４）には板状の第２可撓部（５４ａ）が区画される。第２可撓部（５４ａ）はジンバル（４８）の表面に直交する第２仮想平面（５６）に沿って広がる。第２仮想平面（５６）は第１仮想平面（５５）に１８０度未満の交角（θ）で交差する。第１および第２可撓部（５３ａ、５４ａ）の湾曲は効率的に変位に変換される。
