Abstract

【課題】軸４等の摺動相手部材にコッキング現象が発生してもシールリップ２と軸４とのなす角度が大きく変化することがなく、もって形成される油膜厚さや漏れ量を安定化させることができるオイルシール１を提供する。【解決手段】シールリップ２のリップ端３にて軸４等の相手部材に摺動自在に密接するオイルシール１において、リップ端３は、油側斜面部５と大気側斜面部６との間にアール面部７を有し、アール面部７は、断面形状の曲率半径ｒ１が比較的小さな油側アール面８と、断面形状の曲率半径ｒ２が比較的大きな大気側アール面９とを連続して有している。また当該オイルシール１は、油側アール面８および大気側アール面９の双方にて相手部材に摺動自在に密接する。
