Abstract

L'invention concerne un palier à roulement comprenant un organe fixe, un organe tournant et des corps roulants disposés dans un espace de roulement formé entre lesdits organes pour permettre leur rotation relative, au moins un côté de l'espace de roulement étant équipé d'un joint d'étanchéité comprenant un élément d'étanchéité (2) associé à une armature annulaire rigide (1) qui est solidaire d'un organe du palier, ledit élément d'étanchéité présentant une lèvre extérieure (4) et une lèvre intérieure (3) qui sont en contact frottant sur une portée respectivement extérieure (8b) et intérieure (8a) qui sont solidaires de l'autre organe du palier, lesdites lèvres étant agencées de sorte à définir entre elles un logement annulaire dans lequel un lubrifiant (9) est disposé, dans lequel la portée extérieure (8b) présente une portance supérieure à 60% et une rugosité supérieure à 0,5 μm, la portance et la rugosité de la portée intérieure (8a) étant respectivement strictement supérieure et strictement inférieure à celle de la portée extérieure (8b).
