Abstract

 本発明は、表示部をリニューアルしたとき、ガンマ特性の補正を簡易かつ迅速に行うことができる表示装置およびその駆動方法を提供することを目的とする。  液晶表示装置の電源がオンされると、まず複数の抵抗を直列接続した分圧回路によって生成された暫定階調基準電圧がソースドライバに与えられるので、ソースドライバは、与えられた暫定階調基準電圧に基づき暫定階調電圧群を生成する。次に、電源回路が立ち上がると、表示制御回路から与えられた階調電圧データをD/AコンバータによってD/A変換して、正規階調基準電圧が生成される。正規階調基準電圧が生成されると、暫定階調基準電圧に代わって正規階調基準電圧がソースドライバに与えられる。そこで、ソースドライバは、暫定階調電圧の代わりに、正規階調基準電圧に基づいて正規階調電圧を生成する。
