Abstract

L'invention porte sur un acier vieilli thermiquement pour courroie métallique. La composition dudit acier peut présenter une teneur réduite en TiN, lequel sert de point de départ à une rupture par fatigue dans une région à haute capacité de cycles. La composition facilite la nitruration pour augmenter la dureté de surface. L'acier présente une couche de surface nitrurée de contrainte résiduelle à la compression accrue et, de ce fait, une résistance améliorée à la fatigue de flexion. Dans l'acier, les anciens grains cristallins d'austénite ont été réduits en dimension de façon à assurer une résistance supérieure et une ductilité supérieure. L'acier vieilli thermiquement contient, en termes de % en masse, jusqu'à 0,01 % de C, jusqu'à 0,1 % de Si, jusqu'à 0,1 % de Mn, jusqu'à 0,01 % de P, jusqu'à 0,005 % de S, 17,0-22,0 % de Ni, 0,1-4,0 % de Cr, 3,0-7,0 % de Mo, 7,0-20,0 %, à l'exclusion de 7,0 %, de Co, jusqu'à 0,1 % de Ti, jusqu'à 2,5 % d'Al, jusqu'à 0,03 % de N, jusqu'à 0,005 % de O, et jusqu'à 0,01 % de B (à l'exclusion de 0), à la condition que Co/3+Mo+4Al représente 8, 0-15,0%, le reste étant constitué par Fe et les impuretés accidentelles.
