Definitions

  • the invention relates to a steering column module for a motor vehicle, with electrical or electronic functional components, which are connected to a functional module, with a holding tube attached to the casing of a steering column support frame, wherein the support frame has sleeves which extend substantially parallel to the steering column, wherein the functional module the sleeves of the holding frame is attached, and with a plurality of housing parts which surround the functional module and the holding frame.

  • the joining direction of the housing parts is practically perpendicular to the joining direction of the screws and also the steering column of a motor vehicle is generally an ergonomically unfavorable place for assembly work.
  • At least one first housing part has at least one connecting tab with an opening and through the opening a sleeve of the holding frame is passed, and that at least a second housing part is locked to the first housing part.

  • the functional module can be attached by simple screw on the support frame, at the same time the first housing part is fixed. It is advantageous that during the screwing, except for one screw, no parts of the steering column module must be handled, since both the first housing part and the functional module are positioned sufficiently accurately by attaching to the sleeves for the screwing. It is also particularly advantageous that the screwing in of the screws can be carried out in the most favorable mounting direction, namely from above and parallel to the steering column. Moreover, it is advantageous that only a few screw connections are required, since the screws are provided only for fixing the positions of holding frame, first housing part and functional module to each other. Since the support frame supports both the first housing part and the functional module, the screws need not apply large holding forces.
