Definitions
- the present invention relates to a means of capping a packaging -a bottle- for a liquid -typically a drink- thanks to which it can bring to the liquid an organoleptic complement either mineral, or coloring, or finally taste.
- document FR 2 158 142 discloses a hollow plug constituting an aroma tank, the base of the plug being formed of a perforable wall constituting the bottom of said tank and the top of the plug constituting a pusher able to push in the direction of said base wall a perforating member contained in the reservoir.
- a dose is shaped as a hollow plug in which an externally actuated pusher (the top of the plug) allows tearing a retention membrane of the additive product which is thus released into the suitable container to receive the hollow plug.
- the release of the additive passes through the action on a pusher.
- This action can be untimely and not be sufficiently controlled so that the cap can be sold separately from the liquid container with the guarantee of its integrity from the manufacturer to the user.
- the present invention proposes to overcome this disadvantage and offer the market a dose of additive in a packaging completely identical to a viscous cap.
- the subject of the invention is therefore a dose-stopper for an addition product to a liquid contained in a receptacle with a neck provided with an external relief capable of receiving and holding a stopper.
- This plug is remarkable for the following structure: it comprises a first capsule-shaped part having a bottom and a side skirt whose opposite end to the bottom is internally provided with a fixing means for cooperating with a relief of the neck.
- It comprises a second bowl-shaped part with a bottom and a side skirt, the bowl and the capsule having first latching means which cooperate to maintain the bowl in the capsule in a first relative axial position with, between them , a sealed peripheral contact, it comprises a spacer extending inside the bowl from the bottom thereof towards the bottom of the capsule to form a stop limiting the depression of the bowl in the capsule to- beyond this first position, said spacer constituting a means of breaking the bottom of the bowl when the depression of the latter in the capsule is forced.
- the reservoir of the adduct is thus constituted by the sealed engagement of two half-shells that it is easy to perform, fill and assemble automatically after filling.
- the invention constitutes an effective packaging of the product and able to maintain its integrity throughout the chain of its distribution.
- the resulting cap is of a nature to ensure a tight closure of the container with which it cooperates.
- the external relief of the neck and the inner means of the lateral skirt of the capsule are threads. It is not outside the scope of the invention to provide a shoulder of the neck (under a ring for example) and crimping or snapping of the skirt on this ring.
- the spacer is close to the skirt of the bowl, the bottom comprising in the vicinity of this place a line of weakness along its junction with the skirt.
- a hinge line that allows to keep attached to the skirt the lid that forms the bottom once detached of the skirt.
- the bowl is in its first aforesaid position, the periphery of the outer surface of the bottom of the bowl is circumscribed by the end edge of the skirt of the capsule and at most at this level.
- the bowl is then practically inaccessible from the outside which is a guarantee of good performance of the dose cap against the blows, shocks and forces it can to undergo between its manufacture and its use.
- the capsule and the bowl have corresponding second latching means which cooperate in maintaining the bowl in the capsule in a second relative axial position thereof when the bottom wall of the bowl is broken.
- the pierced bowl is then held prisoner at the bottom of the capsule, which allows its maneuvering by the capsule when the stopper has more than a closing office and which ensures a seal between capsule and bowl while the liquid contained in the neck container is able to invade the tank between capsule and bowl.
- These second latching means are constituted by a groove formed at the end of the skirt of the capsule near its bottom and by an outer bead bordering the free end of the skirt of the bowl.
- the skirt of the bowl has a first axial section from its bottom, a first outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a second axial section which overcomes the first section up to at the free end of this skirt.
- the difference between the diameters of the two sections of the skirt of the bowl is substantially equal to twice the thickness of the wall which forms it, the smallest diameter being substantially equal to the inside diameter of the aforesaid neck of the container and the length of the first section aforesaid is sufficient to allow the setting of the thread of the skirt with the thread of the aforesaid neck of the container prior to the thrust of the rim on the bowl.
- FIG. 1 is a sectional view of the dose cap of the invention in its first state before use
- FIG. 2 is an identical view of the plug in its second state with use, the two views representing the plug in cooperation with the threaded neck of a container such as a bottle.
- the cap shown comprises a first part 1 forming a capsule with a bottom 2 and a lateral skirt 3 cylindrical or slightly slightly conical flaring downwards, whose end 3a opposite the bottom 2 is provided with an internal thread 4 with single or double thread. This end 3a is limited by an extreme edge 3b.
- the skirt 3 of the capsule is provided with an inner relief 5, the section of which is made of a downwardly pointed crown tooth, which constitutes a first retaining means whose role will be described below.
- the capsule has a second inner relief 6 which defines a slope 6a and a groove 6b, which also form a second retaining means.
- the dose cap represented also comprises a second cup-shaped piece 11 with a substantially plane bottom 12 and a lateral skirt 13.
- the bottom 12 carries, perpendicularly to its plane, a pad 14 which is inside the skirt. 13 and extend beyond the end edge 13b of its free end 13a.
- the axis of the stud 14 is off-center with respect to the general axis XX of the bowl.
- the bottom 12 of the bowl has a line of weakness 15 which extends to the junction of this bottom with the skirt and which passes close to the foot of the stud 14.
- the bow embraced by this line is substantially equal to the circumference of the bottom except for a fastener 16 which forms a flexible tongue of articulation to the skirt of the lid that constitutes the bottom 12 once the broken line of fragility.
- the free end 13a of the skirt is provided externally with two superposed beads 17 and 18 which form both the latching means of the bowl 11 in the capsule 1 and sealing contact between the skirt 13 of this bowl and that 13 of the capsule.
- the bead 17 cooperates with the relief 5 to ensure the latching of the bowl in the capsule in a first axial relative position of these two elements.
- the stud 14 constitutes a stop at the depression of the bowl 11 in the capsule 1 which limits this depression to the value necessary for the realization of the latching.
- FIG. 2 illustrates the cooperation of the upper bead 18 with the groove ⁇ b of the capsule when the depression of the bowl in the capsule has been forced to the point of having partially detached the bottom 12 of the skirt 13 by the play of the spacer blocked by the bottom 2 of the capsule. This is the second latching of the bowl and the capsule in a second relative axial position of these elements.
- the skirt 13 of the bowl 11 has two sections 13c and 13d.
- the section 13c, the closest to the bottom 12 is of outside diameter d less than that D of the section 13d which overcomes it.
- the diameter d will preferably be equal to that inside the threaded neck C of the main container to the contents of which it is desired to incorporate a liquid or powder adduct.
- the outside diameter D of the section 13d of the skirt 13 is in turn substantially equal to that inside the end 3a of the skirt 3 at the top of file. 4.
- the difference of the corresponding radii is substantially equal to the thickness of the wall of the skirt 13. In this way a shoulder 19 is created to support the rim of the neck C under the section 13d of the skirt 13.
- the bottom 12 of the bowl 11 is substantially at the edge 3b of the skirt 3 when skirt and capsule are in their first relative position and the axial length L of the section 13c is such that the thread 4 of the capsule can engage with the external thread of the neck C before there is contact between the rim of this neck and the shoulder 19.
- the two components of the dose cap of the invention are made of injected plastic material. Before proceeding with their assembly, one places in one or the other of the bowl or the capsule the additive product concerned and is snapped into their first relative position (FIG. 1). It is then possible to manipulate the cap as a single piece to be conditioned according to the sales strategies adopted according to the recipients of the product.
