Abstract

【課題】石油系樹脂を使用しない、又は石油系樹脂の使用量が少なくてすみ、機械強度が高く、電子機器の筐体に好適な植物材料を用いた圧縮成型品及びその製造方法を提供する。 【解決手段】まず、木又は竹を粉砕して平均粒径が５～１００μｍの木粉を得る。次に、第１の金型１１に木粉を入れ、例えは温度が１６０°C、圧力が３０ＭＰａの条件で第１の圧縮成型工程を実施して、仮成型体１２を形成する。次に、仮成型体１２を難燃剤１３に浸漬して表面に難燃剤を含浸させた後、第２の金型１４に入れ、例えば温度が２００°C、圧力が１００ＭＰａの条件で第２の圧縮成型工程を実施する。このとき木粉からリグニンやヘミセルロース等の成分が析出し、接着剤として働いて粉砕物が相互に強固に結合して一体化され、所定の形状の圧縮成型品１５となる。
