Abstract

 液晶表示装置(1)では、検出用素子(201)が設けられている領域と、参照用素子(202)が設けられている領域とが、額縁に沿って交互に繰り返し並ぶように分割配置されている。各領域において、PINフォトダイオード(413)…は所定数だけ直列接続および並列接続され、検出用素子(201)の全領域と、参照用素子(202)の全領域とのそれぞれで、n個の直列接続および規定数の並列接続による構成とされる。これにより、光電変換素子を構成する光電変換素子エレメントの表示パネル上における特性ばらつきが大きくても、周囲光の強度を正確に検出することのできる表示装置を実現する。
