Abstract

 本発明に係る脱酸素剤は、生活環境雰囲気中の酸素を吸収除去するために用いられる。脱酸素剤は、蛍石類似の超格子構造を有しかつ酸素の強制的な引き抜きによって生じた可逆的な酸素欠損を有する酸化セリウムからなる。酸化セリウムは、含酸素セリウム塩又はその水和物を還元して得られたものであることが好ましい。また酸化セリウムは、CeO2-xで表される酸素欠損構造を有すると共に、xが0.5~0.7であることが好ましい。この酸化セリウムは、含酸素セリウム塩又はその水和物を1000°C以上で直接還元焼成することで得られる。
