Abstract

 半導体レーザからの出射光は回折光学素子によりメインビームおよび2つのサブビームに分割され、ディスクの記録層に集光される。ディスクの記録層で反射されたメインビームの反射光および2つのサブビームの反射光は複合波長板を透過し、光検出器で受光される。複合波長板としては、領域12aと領域12bとを有する複合波長板11aが用いられる。領域12aを透過した光と領域12bを透過した光とは偏光状態が互いに直交している。光検出器からの出力に基づいて差動プッシュプル信号が演算される。
