Abstract

　半導体レーザからの出射光は回折光学素子によりメインビームおよび２つのサブビームに分割され、ディスクの記録層に集光される。ディスクの記録層で反射されたメインビームの反射光および２つのサブビームの反射光は複合波長板を透過し、光検出器で受光される。複合波長板としては、領域１２ａと領域１２ｂとを有する複合波長板１１ａが用いられる。領域１２ａを透過した光と領域１２ｂを透過した光とは偏光状態が互いに直交している。光検出器からの出力に基づいて差動プッシュプル信号が演算される。
