Abstract

 水管ボイラ、吸収式冷凍機の再生器などに適用される燃焼方法において、ガス発生源からのガス中の窒素酸化物、一酸化炭素および酸素の濃度比を基準所定濃度比に調整する濃度比調整ステップと、一次側の前記濃度比を基準濃度比としたとき二次側の窒素酸化物濃度および一酸化炭素濃度を実質的に零とする特性の酸化触媒を利用して、窒素酸化物を低減する有害物質低減ステップとを含み、濃度比調整ステップは、酸化触媒の二次側の酸素濃度を検出して、検出酸素濃度が実質的に零近傍の設定酸素濃度となるよう前記濃度比を制御する。この燃焼方法によれば、窒素酸化物の排出量を限りなく零に近く低減でき、一酸化炭素排出量を許容範囲に低減することができる。また、濃度比の制御を酸素濃度の検出により安定的に行うことができる。
