  • At least one 0-ring is installed between a front fixing cover of the external case assembly and the spherical camera unit so as to maintain the waterproof function of the inside of the external case assembly and clean the window of the camera lens unit when the shutter function is performed; and the outer surface of the spherical camera unit is coated with a material having a small coefficient of friction, such as fluororesin, so as to minimize friction generated between the spherical camera unit and the 0- ring.
  • LEDs for illumination are disposed around a barrel of the camera lens unit in the spherical camera unit such that the LEDs are concentrated on upper and lower parts of the barrel so as to maximize variation in the intensity of illumination due to the shielding of the LEDs by a front fixing cover of the external case assembly when the pan or tilt function is performed; and portions of the front fixing cover in the pan or tilt direction are opened so as to minimize the interference with the viewing angle of the camera lens unit.

  • the monitoring camera apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a spherical camera unit 10 having a waterproof (airtight) structure and provided with a rack gear 11 formed thereon at a designated area, and a motor driving unit 20 provided with a pinion gear 21 and contacting the surface of the camera unit 10 by engaging the pinion gear 21 with the rack gear 11 in the direction of the rotation of the camera unit 10.

Further, the spherical camera unit 10 includes the rack gear 11 formed on the outer surface of the rear part thereof in the direction of the rotation of the spherical camera unit 10, and when the rotary power of the motor unit 23 is transmitted to the spherical camera unit 10 through the pinion gear 21 and the rack gear 11, the spherical camera unit 10 is rotated on the pivot 12.

  • LEDs 52 for illumination are disposed around a barrel of the lens unit 51. Particularly, the LEDs 52 are concentrated on upper and lower parts of the barrel of the lens unit 51. Thereby, it is possible to maximize variation in the intensity of illumination due to the partial shielding of the LEDs 52 by the front fixing cover 30 when the spherical camera unit 10 is rotated to the right or left side at the maximum angle.
  • An external case 40 serves to fix the pivot 12 of the spherical camera unit 10, protect the motor housing 24 installed in the external case 40, as shown in FIG. 5, and fix the front fixing cover 30 and the fixing member 35.
  • the external case 40 has a cylindrical structure in order to facilitate the installation of the monitoring camera unit and minimize damage to an object, on which the monitoring camera unit is installed. If necessary, the structure of the external case 40 may be modified according to conditions of an object, on which the monitoring camera unit is installed.
  • the front fixing cover 30 is provided, as shown in FIG. 5.
  • the front fixing cover 30 is assembled with the fixing member 35, assembled with the external case 40, by screws or flanges such that a designated degree of pulling internal force is applied between the front fixing cover 30 and the fixing member 35.
  • One to three 0-rings 31, as shown in FIG. 3, are installed between the front fixing cover 30 and the spherical camera unit 10.
  • the front fixing cover 30, the fixing member 35, and the external case 40 are assembled, pressure is applied to the 0-rings 31 so that the 0-rings 31 are properly internally deformed. Thereby, it is possible to satisfy airtightness and waterproof standards.
  • the 0-rings 31 serve to clean the window 50 of the spherical camera unit 10.
  • the outer surface of the spherical camera unit 10 is coated with a material having a small coefficient of friction, such as fluororesin. Thereby, it is possible to minimize friction generated between the spherical camera unit 10 and the O rings 31 when the spherical camera unit 10 is rotated.
  • the present invention provides a monitoring camera apparatus having both a pan/tilt function and a shutter function, in which a spherical camera unit and a motor driving unit are separately provided so as to achieve a simple and compact structure of the apparatus and allow the apparatus to be easily waterproofed, and the pan or tilt function and the shutter function are selectively performed according to the rotation angle of the spherical camera unit. That is, when the spherical camera unit is rotated in a designated angle range, the monitoring camera apparatus performs the pan or tilt function, and, when the spherical camera unit is rotated beyond the designated angle range, the monitoring camera apparatus performs the shutter function due to the shielding of a camera lens unit by an external case assembly.
  • the camera unit of the monitoring camera apparatus of the present invention performs a rotating operation by contact between the camera unit and the motor driving unit through the engagement of a gear serving as a rack and a gear serving as a pinion.
  • the engagement of the gears including a worm gear, provides sufficient reduction ratio and torque as well as change of a power transmitting direction, thus allowing the monitoring camera apparatus to obtain a stable image.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil pour caméra de surveillance capable de manœuvre de panoramique vertical et horizontal et de manœuvre d'obturateur. Cet appareil de structure simple et compacte, facile à rendre étanche à l'eau, est constitué d'une unité caméra, et d'une unité d'entraînement à moteur indépendantes de façon à garantir une meilleure étanchéité. Les fonctions de panoramique et d'occultation de la caméra tirent profit de la structure sphérique de l'unité caméra. Pour la rotation, l'unité d'entraînement à moteur comporte un pignon s'engrenant dans une crémaillère réalisée sur la surface extérieure de la sphère. L'appareil est pourvu d'un ensemble boîtier externe dont la partie avant est ouverte. Pour la fonction de panoramique horizontal ou vertical, on commande un balayage de l'unité sphérique à caméra dans une plage angulaire définie. Pour la fonction d'occultation, on amène une fenêtre de l'objectif de la caméra au moyen de l'ensemble boîtier externe en dehors des limites de la plage angulaire définir.
