Abstract
水平連続鋳造において、鋳型の上下で冷却速度を均一化し、上下で組織差の少ない鋳塊を製造する。 タンディッシュ(10)から供給される溶湯(M)を鋳型(40)の出口から水平方向に鋳出す水平連続鋳造方法において、鋳型(40)の入口近傍に形成されるガス溜まり(G)の圧力(PA)を、タンディッシュ(10)内の溶湯高さ(H)により発生する静水圧(P)の1~1.2倍の圧力を最大圧力(Pmax)とし、前記静水圧(P)よりも低い圧力を最小圧力(Pmin)として脈動させながら連続鋳造する。前記脈動は、前記ガス溜まり(G)のガス(G2)の間歇的な排出、または前記ガス溜まり(G)へのガス(G1)の供給とガス(G2)の排出とを切り替えることにより生じさせることができる。
