Abstract

 各画素領域には、走査信号線(2)を挟むように第1および第2副画素領域が設けられ、上記第1副画素領域と対向基板の該第1副画素領域に対応する部分とを含むように第1副画素が構成されるとともに、上記第2副画素領域と対向基板の該第2副画素領域に対応する部分とを含むように第2副画素が構成され、第1副画素に第1配向規制構造物が設けられるとともに、第2副画素に第2配向規制構造物が設けられており、隣接する2つの画素の一方(55x)に設けられた第1配向規制構造物(L1・S1~4)の形状は、上記2つの画素のもう一方(55y)に設けられた第1配向規制構造物(L11・S11~14)を180°回転させて得られる形状である。こうすれば、各画素(55x・55y)に複数の配向領域を形成することが可能な液晶パネルにおいて、走査信号線(2)沿いの配向乱れによる視野角特性の悪化を抑えることができる。
