  • insects can easily intrude in the outdoor unit through a clearance between the unit body 10 and the top plate 11 or through openings defined in a front wall of the outdoor unit in front of the outdoor fan 12. If such insects reach the printed wiring board 1 , they tend to gather on a self-heating component part such as, for example, the module 2 or on the radiating plate 3 that radiates heat emitted from the module 2. Although the insects have hitherto intruded between the lead portions 7 of the module 2, the frame 6 of the fixing spacer 4 tightly closes an aperture between the printed wiring board 1 and the radiating plate 3 and, hence, prevents intrusion of the insects, making it possible to avoid short-circuit that has been hitherto caused by the insects. Further, because the solder side (upper surface side) of the printed wiring board 1 is coated with the coating material 8, short-circuit between the lead portions 7 of the module 2 on this side is also avoided. Industrial Applicability
  • the fixing spacer as employed therein can be applied to any other electronic equipment having a printed wiring board irrespective of the configuration of the printed wiring board.
