Bei einer einteiligen verlorenen Gießform für Gussteile aus Metall (4) aus einem verfestigten Formstoff, welcher einen Formhohlraum umschließt und mindestens einen im Formstoff eingebetteten metallischen Kühlkanal (6) aufweist, der ein Kühlmedium führt, sind Abschnitte der Außenseite des metallischen Kühlkanals (6) zum Formhohlraum hin vom Formstoff unbedeckt und/oder nur geringfügig bedeckt.
