  • the present invention relates to a story telling toy and operating method thereof, which stores a story telling history and outputs a story in accordance with the story telling history, and more particularly, to a story telling toy and operating method thereof, in which a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is mounted to a doll and the story telling toy outputs a story of the relevant doll as a voice or image, and a history of the story is stored and the story is output in accordance with a state of the story telling history when the next operation.

  • a method of operating a story telling toy comprising an RFID reader, a storage unit, a history storage unit and an output unit and using a story telling history, the method comprising the steps of: transmitting predetermined RF power from the RFID reader if the RFID reader receives a drive signal from a drive switch; activating an RFID tag of an RFID doll neighboring in a short distance by the RF power and reading a unique code of the relevant RFID doll; extracting a story from the storage unit in accordance with the unique code read by the RFID reader; outputting the extracted story as a voice and/or an image in accordance with a story telling history state stored in the history storage unit; and storing the story telling history state of the output story into the history storage unit.
  • the present invention provides a story telling toy storing contents of the story telling history and outputting a story in accordance with the story telling history, comprising: an RFID reader for reading a unique code from an RFID tag mounted to an RFID toy; a storage unit for storing a story related to each RFID doll according to the unique code of the relevant doll as voice or image data; a history storage unit for storing a story telling history state according to the RFID doll; an output unit provided with a speaker or display device to output the story as a voice or image; and a control unit for receiving the unique code of the RFID doll from the RFID reader, reading a story related to the relevant RFID doll from the storage unit, and outputting the read story in accordance with a story telling history state stored in the history storage unit.
  • an RFID tag is mounted to a doll and a story telling toy outputs a story of the relevant doll as a voice or image, a history of the story is stored and the story is output in accordance with a state of the story telling history when the next operation, thereby providing language education for infants/children.

That is, as shown in Fig. 1, if the RFID reader 112 of the story telling toy 110 provided with a plurality of antenna arrays transmits RF power, the RFID tag 122 mounted to the RFID doll 120 receives the RF power transmitted from the antenna arrays of the RFID reader 112 of the story telling toy 110 and is driven to wirelessly transmit the unique code of the relevant RFID doll 120.
  • the unique code signal wirelessly transmitted from the RFID tag 122 mounted to the RFID doll 120 is received by the antenna arrays of the RFID reader 112 and is read.

  • the drive switch unit 216 receives whether an object-recognizing toy is turned on or off from the user. If a drive switch is turned off, power supplied from the power unit 218 is blocked and the relevant story telling toy does not recognize an RFID doll, which uses an RFID tag, and operates as a general toy. If the drive switch is turned on, the power unit 218 supplies power to the control unit 220 and the other functional units, and an RFID tag of a specific object is recognized and a voice/image is output.

  • the possession state shows information on unpossessed RFID dolls, as well as information on story telling priorities among story telling toys, and acts as information for stimulating a purchase desire of a user.
  • the time-after-output which is information on a time period elapsed after a story is output, is information for outputting a story of wanting an RFID doll whose story telling history does not exist for a certain period of time, and the progress state is information on the starting point of a story of an RFID doll when a unique code of the RFID doll is received.
  • Table 2 shows an example of story telling histories stored according to the number of received tags of each RFID doll.
  • the control unit 220 has an algorithm for controlling the respective functional units to receive a unique code of an RFID doll from the RFID reader 202, read a story related to the relevant doll from the storage unit 212, and output the read story in accordance with a story telling history state stored in the history storage unit 214.
  • the algorithm will be described referring to the flowchart shown in Fig. 3.
  • FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a process of outputting a story using a story telling history according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • step S302 If power of the story telling toy is turned on and the antenna arrays of the RFID reader 202 are activated (step S302), the RFID tag mounted to a neighboring RFID doll is read (step S304). Then, it is determined whether the unique code of the read RFID tag exists in the history storage unit 214 (step S306). If it is determined that the unique code exists in the history storage unit, possession state information of the RFID doll in the history storage unit 214 is stored as zero (possess) (step S308), and a story of the relevant RFID doll is extracted from the storage unit 212 (step S310).
  • step S312 the received story of the RFID doll is output from the point where telling the story has been interrupted in accordance with an output option (step S314).
  • step S316 If telling the story is interrupted or completed, the story telling history state is stored in the history storage unit 214 (step S316).
  • a story of wanting an RFID doll whose story telling history does not exist for a certain period of time can be output as a voice or image, or a voice output function for unpossessed RFID dolls can be additionally provided.
  • the history storage unit stores the time-after-output according to the RFID doll for the voice output function.
  • the story telling toy outputs a story of wanting or longing for the RFID dolls that have not been conversed with for the certain period of time.
  • the story telling toy introduces or tells a user about RFID dolls that the user does not possess to stimulate a purchase desire of the user.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un jouet racontant une histoire et son procédé de fonctionnement: une étiquette RFID est montée sur une poupée et le jouet raconte l'histoire correspondant à la poupée sous forme de voix ou d'image, l'histoire étant mémorisée et le récit étant énoncé en fonction d'un état de cette histoire au moment de l'opération suivante. L'invention concerne un jouet qui raconte une histoire et comprenant un lecteur RFID servant à lire un code unique depuis une étiquette RFID montée sur un jouet RFID; une mémoire servant à mémoriser une histoire associée à chaque poupée RFID; une mémoire servant à mémoriser un état de l'histoire; une unité de contrôle servant à reproduire la lecture de l'histoire en fonction dudit état mémorisé dans la mémoire.
