Definitions
- the present invention relates to the preparation of high quality wines and can be used for the development of wine by storage in oak barrels or other wooden barrels.
- Barrique is the name for a small oak barrel, which serves for the expansion of red or white wine. Barrels of the aforementioned type are known. They are typically used for capacities up to 350 liters.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a device that can be used to maintain a maximum level of wine contained in a barrel of barrels or in another wooden barrel.
- a device which comprises a storage container, which can be tightly connected to it via an opening in the barrel, and a receiving device for the storage container. wherein the volume of the reservoir decreases when emptying serving for refilling wine.
- the device of the invention ensures this by constantly emptying the contents of the reservoir into the wooden barrel maintaining the maximum level in the wooden barrel over a period of at least two to five months, depending on the volume of the reservoir, without that within this period of control by the cellarmaster is required .
- the device of the invention must be replaced or refilled, which compared to the once or twice a week takes place manually filling the wooden barrels an enormous time and labor savings.
- the device according to the invention can be provided by combining commercially available individual parts.
- the device according to the invention may be combined from a commercially available "bag-in-box" system, also known as a wine tube, which comprises a standard discharge valve.
- a commercially available "bag-in-box” system also known as a wine tube, which comprises a standard discharge valve.
- Another advantage of the device according to the invention is that its individual components are independent interchangeable and easy to clean.
- the flexible reservoir, drain valve, stopcock, closures, adapters and / or possible other components are separately handled before each other.
- the individual components are disposable or disposable articles which are preferably sterilizable and can be advantageously packaged, purchased and stored in a sterile manner.
- the device according to the invention preferably supplies a single wine barrel, which ensures in particular that each barrel can be supplied individually with the appropriate refilling wine.
- the volume of the reservoir is reduced by utilizing the natural drop pressure.
- the reservoir sinks when emptying in itself. This is due to the emergence of a negative pressure, which arises when emptying the contents of the reservoir into the wooden barrel in the reservoir.
- the reservoir consists essentially of a flexible and largely gas-tight material, which is optionally coated with aluminum. This allows the unimpeded reduction of the volume of the reservoir when emptying its contents into the wooden barrel.
- the reservoir consists essentially of polyethylene, propylene and / or ethyl-vinyl alcohol.
- the barrier plastic ethyl-vinyl-alcohol which is particularly suitable for barrier packaging, is a high-barrier plastic, which is characterized in particular by its high oxygen and gas barrier. It may be a thermoplastic material that can be transformed with all common processing methods (glass film, flat film, pipe extrusion, as well as blow molding, etc.).
- ethyl vinyl alcohol can be processed in combination with other thermoplastics such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polystyrene (PS), for example to material costs lower and combine the positive properties of composites.
- thermoplastics such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polystyrene (PS), for example to material costs lower and combine the positive properties of composites.
- the reservoir is essentially made of flexible aluminum-coated plastic film.
- the receptacle for the reservoir consists of suitable materials, preferably of wood, cardboard or metal. Also combination of suitable materials are included.
- the receiving device consists essentially of cardboard, also referred to as outer carton.
- the receiving device allows a fill level control of the storage container.
- control slot (s) may be attached to a plurality of, preferably opposite, sides of the receiving device.
- this has a stopcock, also referred to as a drain valve on. This drain valve can be clamped in a device that allows the connection of the reservoir directly and without any effort to the barrel and also its separation from the barrel, without that atmospheric oxygen can occur.
- the drain valve is inserted directly into the device for clamping, the latter also referred to as a composite piece, and opened by simply turning the adapter screw, creating a direct connection between the barrel and reservoir is generated. This can be interrupted again if necessary by closing and removing the drain valve from the device.
- the drain valve allows this lossless change or refilling of the device according to the invention, for. B. after complete emptying of the contents of the reservoir in the wooden barrel.
- the stopcock and its device for clamping essentially consists of plastic.
- the opening in the barrel is a bunghole.
- the bung hole here denotes an opening in the wooden barrel, which can be arranged in principle either on the upper Fassdaube or in the drum base and with a tapered plug, the so-called bung, is closed.
- the bunghole essentially serves to fill the barrels.
- the bunghole designates an opening in the barrel mounted in the upper draft pigeon.
- the reservoir can be tightly connected to the opening in the barrel by means of an elastic material.
- the device for easy clamping of the stopcock is tightly inserted.
- the reservoir can in this case be connected to the opening in the barrel via a silicone plug.
- the present invention further provides an assembly including a device for maintaining the maximum level of wine contained in a barrique or other wooden barrel, a reservoir and / or a receiving device of such a device, a silicone plug and optionally wine.
- the apparatus or composition provided in the present invention may serve to influence the flavoring and / or aroma of alcoholic beverages.

- Fig. 5 Detail view of the device for clamping the drain valve.
- a holding web (13) allows manual operation of the drain valve (9).
- the drain valve (9) comprises a poppet valve (14) with return by spring or rubber cap.
- the drain valve (9) has a rotary knob (15) for manual operation of the drain valve (9).
- FIG. 5 shows a detailed view of the device for clamping (12) of the discharge valve (9) shown in FIG. 4. Shown is the receiving sleeve (16), fit for the drain valve (9), wherein the drain valve (9) is inserted only. The retaining web (13) is inserted into the receiving slot (17) provided for this purpose. A simple O-ring forms the seal (18) for the outlet of the cone valve (14). The bunghole (see 5 in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3) is closed with the pierced silicone plug (10) into which the outlet tube (19) is inserted. In the thread of the receiving sleeve (16) sits a plastic screw (20) with a knob (15) for manual operation of the drain valve (9). This screw (20) allows the opening of the valve (9) and the resealing when changing the reservoir (4), without leakage of liquid.
- a commercially available "bag-in-box" system serves as a flexible storage container according to the invention, which is surrounded by a receiving device.
- This recording device corresponds to a commercial carton.
- This carton is slightly modified, so that the receiving device can be placed on the barrique or other wooden barrel and thus no additional support or the like is required for the attachment of the device according to the invention on the barrel.
- the volume of the storage container is freely selectable and can be 3, 5 or 10 liters as required.
- the airtight storage container is laminated with aluminum, so that in the usual period of use no unwanted deterioration of the filling wine by oxidation can take place.
- the outer carton has two viewing slots located on opposite sides of the carton boxes, so-called control slots, which allow the waiter to recognize at any time without difficulty whether there is a sufficient quantity of filling wine in the storage container.
- a simple connection between the drain cock and the reservoir allows a very easy refilling of the reservoir in case of need.
- the one-way valve located between barrel and reservoir is made of simple, sturdy plastic. It is connected by means of fine plastic approach film directly to the reservoir and the bung with the wine barrel. The valve allows a filling, without, as usual, wine is spilled. Furthermore, the surface contamination around the bunghole can be reduced to an extreme minimum. The quality of the wine is preserved. All parts used have been tested in practice and require no special approval or the like for use in the preparation of wine.
