Abstract
本発明は、撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維とを含有する油水分離フィルターを提供する。また本発明は、該フィルターを用いる油水分離装置、及び油水分離方法を提供する。
Description
明 細 書 油水分離フィルター及び油水分離装置 技術分野
本発明は、 エマルシヨン状態で含有する油水混合物を油相及び水相に分離す る油水分離フィル夕一及び油水分離装置に関する,。 背景技術
水相に含有される有用物質を油相に抽出したり、 あるいは油相に含有される 塩などを水相に抽出したのち、 水相と油相を分離して有用物質や塩を取り出す という抽出操作は、 廃水処理等の環境事業、 医農薬工業、 化学工業、 食品工業 などにおける単位操作として幅広く実施されている。 抽出操作は、 通常、 水相 及び油相からなる微小な粒子 (エマルシヨン) の状態で油水混合物としたのち 、 再び油相及び水相に分離する操作であるが、 油水混合物に含まれる該粒子は 速やかに破壊されず、 結果として水相及び油相からなる微小な粒子を含む中間 相となり、 水相としても油相としても取り扱うことができないという問題があ る。
このような問題の解決方法として、 ポリ弗化ビニリデン (ポリビニルジフル ォライ ド) などのフッ素樹脂膜を代表とする撥水性樹脂繊維からなる油水分離 膜を用いて油水混合物を透過する方法が知られている (例えば、 JP-H09- 308803-A) 。
しかしながら、 本発明者が検討したところ、 油水混合物には水も含まれてい ることから撥水性が強いと油水混合物を透過する際のフィル夕一間の圧力損失 (フィルターの入口における加圧された圧力とフィルターの出口における圧力 との差圧) が大きくなり、 同じ圧力をフィル夕一に加圧すれば、 小さい圧力損 失を与える混合物に比し透過時間がかかり、 透過時間を短くするために大きな 圧力で加圧すると設備上の負荷がかかるという問題が明らかになった。
発明の開示
本発明の目的は、 油水混合物を透過する際にフィル夕一間め圧力損失の少な い油水分離フィルター、 ごれを用いる油水分離装置及び油水分離方法を提供す ることである。 :
即ち本発明は、 下記のものを含む。 '
く 1 > 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維を含有する油水分離フィルター。

<3> フィル夕一が、 撥水性榭脂繊維及び無機繊維を含有する織布であるぐ 1〉または < 2〉に記載のフィルター。
<4> フィルターが、 撥水性樹脂繊維の糸及び無機繊維の糸から形成されて いる織布である < 3〉に記載のフィルタ一。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
以下、 本発明について詳細に説明する。
本発明において用いられる撥水性榭脂繊維の例は、 ポリエチレン、 ポリプロ ピレン、 ポリスチレン、 エチレン一プロピレン共重合体などのポリオレフイン の繊維.; ポリテトラフルォロエチレン、 ポリ トリフルォロエチレン、 ポリクロ 口 トリフルォロエチレン、 ポリ弗化ビニリデンなどのフッ素樹脂繊維 ; ポリ塩 化ビニル; 及びポリ塩化ビニルデンを含む。
撥水性樹脂繊維は、 2種以上の樹脂からなる繊維であってもよい。
撥水性樹脂繊維は、 通常、 幅が l mm以下、 好ましくは 5〜 1 0 0 であ り、 長さが通常、 幅の 1 0倍以上のものである。 撥水性樹脂からなる糸も本発 明の撥水性樹脂繊維に属する。 ·
中でも、 その繊維に油滴が接触したときに油滴同士の合一が起こり易く、 油 相の形成が容易になる傾向であることから、 フッ素樹脂繊維が好ましい。 無機繊維の例は、 鉄、 アルミニウム、 ステンレスなどの金属繊維; ガラス繊 維 ; 及びアルミナ繊維、 アルミナ—シリカ繊維、 ジルコニァ繊維などのセラミ ック繊維を含む。
無機繊維は、 通常、 幅が 1 0 0 m以下、 好ましくは 5〜 2 0 / m程度であ り、 長さ力 通常、 幅の 1 0倍以上である。
無機繊維としては、 2種以上の無機材料からなる繊維であってもよい。 無機 繊維としては、 その繊維に水滴が揆触したときに水滴同士の合 が起こり易く 、 水相の形成が容易になる傾向であることから、 ガラス繊維が好ましい。 本発明の油水分離フィルタ一は、 撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維とを含有する。 該油水分離フィルターにおける撥水性樹脂繊維ノ無機繊維の含有比率 (重量) は、 通常、 9 0ノ 1 0〜: L 0 / 9 0であり、 好ましくは、 S O Z S O O Z 6 0である。
撥水性樹脂繊維が 9 0以下であると、 フィル夕一間の圧力損失の低減の効果 に優れる傾向があることから好ましく、 1 0以上であると、 油水の分液速度が 向上する傾向があることから好ましい。
本発明の油水分離フィル夕一としては、 通常、 膜状構造を有している。 本発明において、 膜とは通常、 厚さが 0 . l〜 5 0 mm程度、 好ましくは、
0 . 5〜 1 0 mm程度の成形体を意味し、 この程度の厚さの不織布、 織布等が 含まれる。 形状としては、 シート状、 円柱状などが挙げられる。 ここで、 該油水分離フィル夕一の不織布は、 撥水性樹脂繊維および無機繊維 の短繊維 (ステーブル) または長繊維 (フィラメント) から形成された薄層状 繊維集合体 (ウェブ) を機械的操作、 接着剤あるいは繊維自身の熱融着力によ つて繊維を互いに接合させ、 加工させて得られる布である。
また、 該油水分離フィル夕一の織布としては、 例えば、 撥水性樹脂繊維の糸 及び無機繊維の糸からなる織布、 例えば、 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維を混紡 した糸を含む織布などが挙げられる。
本発明の油水分離フィル夕一としては、 中でも、 撥水性樹脂繊維の糸及び無 機繊維の糸からなる織布、 並びに、 不織布が製造が容易なことから好ましく、 とりわけ、 JP-S57-205566-A, JP-S61-160466-Aなどに記載されているように、 撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維を配合した緊密配合物を層状に重ね、 荷重をかけた 後、 二一ドル加工を施して得られる不織布が市販されていることから好ましい 。 市販されているフィルターの具体例としては、 バグフィルター濾布あるいは 焼却場の集塵用フィルタ一として市販されているテフアイヤー (登録商標、 販 売 :東レ株式会社) などが挙げられる。 :
無機繊維の表面に撥水性樹脂が完全に被覆された繊維からなる膜 (例えば鞘 芯構造の繊維からなる膜) は、 油水混合物が撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維の両 方に接触し得ないことから、 油滴同士の合一が起きない、 またはフィル夕一間 の圧力損失を低減させないため好ましくない。
本発明の油水分離フィル夕一は、 各種工業で用いられる抽出操作の際に生じ るエマルションの油水分離や解乳化、 廃水処理などで生じる油相と水相との中 間相の処理に用いることができる。 本発明の油水分離装置は、 本発明の油水分離フィルターと、 油水混合液入口 と、 該油水分離フィルターを保持する保持具と、 油水分離液出口とを具備する
。 該油水分離装置としては、 濾過器が挙げられ、 例えば、 装置中の該入口と該 出口が、 保持具で 0定されたフィル夕一でその両側に隔てられている構造の濾 過器が.挙げられる。 具体例として、 フンダー濾過器などの、 入口と濾布を保持 する保持具と出口とを具備する濾過器の濾布部分に本発明の油水分離フィル夕 一が設置された,濾過器が挙げられる。 この濾過器に油水混合液を入口から油水 分離フィルターを経由して出口に通すことによって油と水の 2相に分離された 液を得ることができる。
例えば、 コアレッサ一 (例えば JP-2572068-Bに記載) における金属網に代え て本発明の油水分離フィルターを適用すれば、 前記濾過器の一態様となる。 本発明の油水分離フィル夕一を濾過器に用いる場合、 濾過器の入口に加えら れる圧力 (透過圧力) は、 通常、 0 . 0 1 [Pa]〜 1 0 0 X 1 0 5 [P a]程度であ る。 1 0 0 X 1 0 5 [P a]以下であると、 濾過器の耐圧性を低減せしめたり、 油 水分離フィルターの破損の可能性が低減する傾向があることから好ましく、 ま た、 0 . 0 1 [Pa]以上であると油水分離が十分に行われ、 分液時間が短縮され る傾向があることから好ましい。
その他、 例えば、 J P- 200 1 - 32 1 605- Aに記載のサイクロンを利用した比重差分 離装置におけるブラシに代えて本発明の油水分離フィルターを適用すれば、 同 様に本発明の油水分離装置となり、 同様に油水分離を行うことができる。 本発明に用いられるエマルシヨンは、 液滴がそれを溶かさない他の液体中に 分散した系であり、 例えば、 水相中に油相の粒子が分散した系、 油相中に水相 の粒子が分散した系などが挙げられる。 ここで、 水相は水を主成分とした相で あり、 具体的には、 水が 9 0重量%以上、 好ましくは 9 5重量%以上の相であ る。 また、 油相は有機溶媒を主成分とする相であり、 具体的には、 有機溶媒が 9 0重量%以上、 好ましくは 9 5重量%以上の相である。
エマルションの中でも、 エマルションを静置した際の分液速度が 0.05m/hr以 上であることが好ましい。
ここで、 有機溶媒の例は、 ベンゼン、 トルエン、 キシレンなどの芳香族炭化
水素類; ヘプタン、 へキサン、 ヘプタン、 ォグタン、 ノナン、 デカン、 ドデカ ン、 トリデカンなどの脂肪族炭化水素類; シクロペンタン、 シクロへキサンな どの脂環式炭化水素類;塩化メチレン、 クロ口ホルム、 クロ口ベンゼンなどの ハロゲン化炭化水素類; ジメチルエーテル、 ジェチルエーテル、 エチレンダリ コールジメチルエーテル、 プロピレングリコールジブチルエーテル、 テトラヒ ドロフランなどのエーテル類; メチルイソブチルケトン ; 及び酢酸ブチルが含 まれる。 『
有機溶媒としては、 芳香族炭化水素類、 脂肪族炭化水素類および脂環式炭化 水素類が好適に用いられる。 以下、 実施例を挙げて本発明を更に具体的に説明する。 尚、 実施例中 「部 J 、 「%」 とあるのは特に断りのない限り重量基準である。
実施例 1
<エマルシヨンの調製 >
エマルショ.ンはマイクロミキサー (I MM社、 標準単一混合機) を用いてドデ カンを 0 . 3 m l Z分、 水を 2 . 7 m 1ノ分で供給して製造した。 このエマル ションの粒度分布をレーザー回折 ·散乱式粒度分布計(H0RI BA、 LA-920)を用い て測定した結果を図 1に示す。 . ;

油水分離フィル夕一として撥水性樹脂繊維の 1種であるフッ素樹脂繊維を 7 5重量%、 無機繊維の 1種であるガラス繊維を 2 5重量%含有するテフアイャ 一 (登録商標: テフアイヤー、 1 . 3 m m厚、 8 ιη πι φ ) を図 2に示すごと く濾過器に組み込んだ。 続いて、 図 3に示すごとくマイクロシリンジポンプ ( 6、 Kd Scientific, IC3210) 、 濾過器 2及び水圧計 (7、 VALCOM, VSST1-A4 ) を設置し、 ポンプ 6から濾過器 2へと前記エマルシヨンを供給した。 その結 果を表 1に示した。 濾過器 2の出口のエマルシヨンに含まれる油滴 (ドデカン ) は全て油相と水相に分離され、 出口液中の油滴の粒度分布は検出されなかつ た。
ここでひは、 透過圧力 (フィル夕一間の差圧) に対するフィル夕一の透過性 能を表す物性値であり、 式 ( 1 ) で定義される。 また、 Air permeability[Pa- 1 ] は JIS L 10968.27に示される方法で測定されたフィル夕一の物性値である。 V= α X A X P ( 1 )

(実施例 2及び比較例 1 )
実施例 2では油水分離フィル夕一としてフッ素樹脂繊維を 5 0重量%、 ガラ ス繊維を 5 0重量%含有するテフアイヤー (登録商標: テフアイヤー HG Technology, 2. 1 mm厚) を、 比較例 1ではフッ素樹脂繊維のみからなる ( 品番: BF-700SR 1. 1 5mm厚) を用いる以外は実施例 1 と同様に試験を実 施した。 結果を表 1にまとめた。 出口ラインのエマルシヨンに含まれる油滴 ( ドデカン) は全て解乳化され、 出口液中の油滴の粒度分布は検出されなかった
表 1に示したように、 ガラス繊維比率が増えるに従いひの値は大きくなり、 透過圧力に対するフィルターの透過性能が上がっていることを確認することが できる。

本発明の油水分離フィルタ一は親水性の無機繊維等を含むことから、 撥水性 のフッ素樹脂のみからなる膜と比べて、 油水混合物を透過する際における油水 分離フィルター間の圧力損失が低減され、 フィル夕一間の差圧が一定の圧力で あれば透過時間が短縮される。 また、 得られる油水混合液はほとんど油相と水 相に分離されて,おり、 中間相はほとんど生じない。
Claims
1. 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維を含有する油水分離フィルター。
2. フィルターが膜状構造を有するフィルターである請求の範囲 1に記載の フィルター。 ,
3. フィル夕一が、 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維を含有する織布である請求 の範囲 2に記載のフィルター。 ,
4. フィル夕一が、 撥水性樹脂繊維の糸及び無機繊維の糸から形成されてい る織布である請求の範囲 3に記載のフィルター。
5. フィルターが、 撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維を混紡した糸を含む織布から 形成されている請求の範囲 3に記載のフィルター。
6. フィルターが、 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無機繊維を含有する不織布である請求 の範囲 2に記載のフィルター。
7. フィルターが、 撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維を配合した緊密配合物を層状 に重ね、 荷重,をかけた後、 ニードル加工を施して得られる不織布である請求の 範囲 6に記載のフィルター。
8. 撥水性樹脂が、 ポリオレフイン、 フッ素樹脂、 ポリ塩化ビニル及びポリ 塩化ビニリデンからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも 1種の樹脂である請求の範 囲 1に記載のフィルター。
9. · 無機繊維がガラス繊維である請求の範囲 1に記載のフィルター。
1 0. 撥水性樹脂繊維 無機繊維の重量比率が、 90 1 0〜 1 0 90で ある請求の範囲 1に記載のフィルター。
1 1. 撥水性樹脂繊維と無機繊維とを含有するフィル夕一と、 油水混合液入 口と、 該フィルターを保持する保持具と、 油水分離液出口とを具備する油水分 離装置。
1 2. 該装置が濾過器であり、 装置中の該 口と該出口が、 該フィルターで その両側に隔てられている請求の範囲 1 1に記載の装置。
1 3. 水相及び油相から形成されるエマルシヨンを、 撥水性樹脂繊維及び無
機繊維を含有する油水分離フィルターに接触させることを含む該エマルション から水相と油相を分離する方法。
