Definitions

  • the invention refers to a litter bin comprising a casing with an opening for fitting a bag.
  • the bin In the field of litter bins and wastepaper baskets (hereinafter called the bin) a common problem is to fit the bin-liner, i.e. garbage bag or disposal bag, (hereinafter called the bag) into the bin.
  • the bag When the bag needs to be changed the older bag is replaced by a new and empty bag.
  • One problem occurs when the bag is somewhat too narrow to fit the bin since it is a strenuous task both to remove the old bag and to try to fit the new bag onto the rim of the bin.
  • Another problem occurs if the bag is too wide since the bag, either partly or completely, may fall off the rim and into the bin.
  • the bag and the bin must be made to fit each other perfectly to avoid the above problems.
  • the invention refers to a bin according to the appended claim 1 , where the bin comprises a casing with a top opening for fitting a bag, and where the invention is characterised in that the bin comprises a first beam for fitting a first bag portion when the bin is in an open position and a second beam for fitting a second bag portion being opposite the first bag portion when the bin is in a semi-closed position, and where the first beam is arranged to actuate the second beam when the bin is changed from the semi-closed position to a closed position such that the second bag portion relatively is moved away from the first bag portion by the relative movement of at least a part of the first beam and at least a part of the second beam.
  • actuates refers to a continuous contact and transferral of energy.

  • the first beam and the second beam form a rim over which the bag has been neatly folded and shaped by the relative movement of the first and second rim portions.
  • One advantage of the invention is thus that the change of bag becomes simple since in the open position and semi-closed position, the circumference of the opening of the bag is larger than the corresponding length of the first rim portion and the second rim portion taken together, thereby making it easy for a user to fit the bag onto the first and second rim portions.
  • One further advantage is that in the closed position at least a part of the first beam and at least a part of the second beam, i.e. at least the first and second rim portions, have moved away from each other such that the opening of the bag is optimally shaped and fitted onto the bin.
