Verfahren zur ökonomisch und ökologisch gunstigen Herstellung von Organosiliciumverbindungen mit einer maskierten
Isocyanatgruppe
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur ökonomisch und ökologisch gunstigen Herstellung von Organosiliciumverbindungen mit einer durch ein Blockierungsmittel maskierten Isocyanatgruppe .
Organofunktionelle Silane, also Verbindungen, die neben einer Silylgruppe auch eine organofunktionelle Gruppe enthalten, haben in verschiedensten Anwendungen als Haftvermittler, Quervernetzer oder auch zur Modifizierung von Oberflachen, großtechnische Bedeutung erlangt. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist in diesem Zusammenhang die Isocyanatfunktion, die aufgrund ihrer hohen Reaktivität gegenüber protischen Verbindungen wie z.B. Alkoholen, Aminen, Oximen u. a. auf vielfaltige Weise reagieren kann. Häufig wird jedoch, wie zum Beispiel bei der Anwendung von Isocyanaten in wassriger Umgebung oder in isocyanatvernetzenden emkomponentigen Lacksystemen, eine maskierte Form eines Isocyanates benotigt, um eine ungewollte vorzeitige Reaktion des Isocyanates zu verhindern. Zu diesem Zweck werden großtechnisch häufig Isocyanate eingesetzt, deren Isocyanatfunktion mit einer Gruppierung blockiert ist, die thermisch abspaltbar ist. Diese durch ein Blockiermittel maskierten Isocyanate weisen im Vergleich zum freien organischen Isocyanat eine deutlich reduzierte Toxizitat auf.
Verbindungen, die als Linker zwischen der Siliciumemheit und der geschützten Isocyanatgruppe lediglich einen Methylenspacer besitzen, weisen eine besonders hohe Hydrolyse- und Kondensationsreaktivitat auf. Verbindungen dieser Art können bislang mit zwei verschiedenen äußerst aufwendigen und/oder mefflzienten Verfahren hergestellt werden.
So kann ein substituiertes Chlormethylsilan direkt mit einem Isocyanatsalz in Anwesenheit des gewünschten
Blockierungsmittels HX hergestellt werden.
Diese Reaktion benotigt ein polar aprotisches Losungsmittel und wird vorteilhafterweise in Dirnethylformamid (DMF) durchgeführt. Der bevorzugte Einsatz von DMF wird auch für ähnliche Verfahren (EP 169992, EP 212058, DE 10240388, DE 1795251 und DE 1795251) beschrieben. Bei DMF handelt es sich jedoch um eine toxikologisch bedenkliche Chemikalie, da die begründete Annahme besteht, dass sie das ungeborene Kind im Mutterleib schadigen kann (gemäß Anhang I Richtlinie 67/548/EWG) . Im Zuge der
Prävention sind solche Stoffe besonders zu beachten und deren Einsatz zu minimieren. Darüber hinaus sind die mit dem hier beschriebenen Verfahren erzielten Ausbeuten und Raum-Zeit- Leistungen nicht für ein wirtschaftliches Verfahren ausreichend (siehe Vergleichsbeispiel 1). Ein weiterer gravierender
Nachteil dieses Verfahrens ist, dass im Verlauf der Reaktion aufgrund der drastischen Reaktionsbedingungen (hohe, lang andauernde thermische Belastung) hochtoxische Nebenprodukte entstehen (Bildung von Methylisocyanat durch thermische Alphaspaltung des intermediären Isocyanatomethylsilans) . Die zweite Methode zur Herstellung der o. g. blockierten Isocyanate verwendet Isocyanatomethylsilane und das gewünschte Blockierungsagens (HX) .
Für diese Variante müssen zunächst die entsprechenden
Isocyanatomethylsilane (z. B. GENIOSIL® XL 42, GENIOSIL® XL43 der Fa. Wacker-Chemie) hergestellt werden. Bei diesen Verbindungen handelt es sich um toxikologisch äußerst bedenkliche Verbindungen. So unterliegen beispielsweise Personen die mit Isocyanaten umgehen einer speziellen
medizinischen Überwachung, so dass ein entsprechen großer sicherheitstechnischer Aufwand bei Herstellung und Verwendung betrieben werden muss.
Die o. g. Isocyanatomethylsilane werden in einer aufwandigen zweistufigen Synthese (via einer Carbamatzwischenstufe; siehe Mironov, V. F. et al. in Zhurnal Obshchei Khimii (1969), 39(4), 813-16) aus den entsprechenden Chlormethylsilanen in mittleren Ausbeuten hergestellt (DE 10064086) . Durch die Verwendung von Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (II), die ihrerseits in guten Ausbeuten direkt aus den entsprechenden Chlormethylsilanen durch Amimerung zugänglich sind (EP 1327634), wird zusätzlich eine Reaktionsstufe eingespart und damit zusatzlicher Aufwand, der sich wiederum in höheren Herstellkosten widerspiegelt, vermieden.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es den Stand der Technik zu verbessern und insbesondere einen Ersatz für die Verwendung toxikologisch problematischer Isocyanatoalkylsilane bei der Herstellung geschützter Derivate zur Verfugung zu stellen.
Die Aufgabe wird durch die Erfindung gelost.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Organosiliciumverbmdungen mit einer durch ein Blockierungsmittel maskierten Isocyanatgruppe der allgemeinen Formel (I)
R ein jeweils substituierter oder unsubstituierter C1_-C15~
Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, bevorzugt ein C1-C8- Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, besonders bevorzugt ein C1-C3-
Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, ein Acetylrest, ein Siloxanrest, ein Siliconoligomerrest , ein Siliconpolymerrest , ein
Siliconharzrest, ein Rest aus kolloidalem S1O2 oder aus Siliconpartikeln, R1 ein Wasserstoffatom oder einen gegebenenfalls mit -CN, -NCO, -NR2R3, -COOH, -COOR2, -Halogen, -Acryl, - Epoxy, -SH, -OH oder -CONR2R3 substituierten gesattigten oder ungesättigten C1-C20~Kohlenwasserstoffrest, bevorzugt ein gesättigter C1-C8-Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, besonders bevorzugt ein gesättigter C1-C3-Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, in dem jeweils eine oder mehrere, einander nicht benachbarte Methyleneinheiten durch Gruppen -0-, -CO-, -C00-, -0C0-, oder -OCOO-, -S-, oder -NR2- ersetzt sein können und in denen eine oder mehrere, einander nicht benachbarte Methineinheiten durch Gruppen, -N=, -N=N-, oder -P= ersetzt sein können, wobei die Reste R1 bei Werten n > 1 gleich oder verschieden sein können, n die Werte 0, 1, 2 haben kann und
X eine Gruppe darstellt, ausgewählt aus den Gruppen -NR2R3, -
S-R1, -0-R4, -C(H) (CO2R1)2 und -0-N=CR2R3 und R2, R3 gleich oder verschieden sein können und die gleiche Bedeutung wie R1 haben oder auch zusammen einen zyklischen, gegebenenfalls verzweigten gesattigten oder ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 2-30 Kohlenstoffatomen darstellen, der gegebenenfalls durch eine oder mehrere Gruppen -0-, -CO-, -C00-, -0C0-, -S-, =N-, -NR1-, -CONR1- funktionalisiert sein kann, und
R4 einen Arylrest mit C6-C2o~Kohlenstoffatomen, welcher gegebenenfalls durch -OH, NR2R3-, CO2R1, -OCOR1, NO2 oder - SH, oder durch andere, Sauerstoff, Stickstoff, Schwefel oder Phosphor enthaltende Gruppen sowie Kohlenwasserstoffreste funktionalisiert sein kann.
Beispiele für R und R1 sind Methyl-, Ethyl-, n-Propyl-, iso- Propyl-, n-Butyl-, iso-Butyl-, tert . -Butyl-, n-Pentyl-, iso- Pentyl-, neo-Pentyl-, tert . -Pentyl-, n-Hexyl, n-Heptyl, n- Octyl, iso-Octyl, n-Decyl, n-Dodecyl, n-Octadecyl, Vinyl-, Allyl, Cyclopentyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Cycloheptyl-, Methylcyclohexyl-, Phenyl-, Naphthyl, Anthryl-, Phenanthryl-, o-Tolyl-, m-Tolyl-, p-Tolyl-, Xylyl- und Ethylphenyl-, Benzyl-, α-Phenylethyl-, ß-Phenylethyl-, Siliconpolymere und organosilylfunktionalisierte Organopolysiloxanharze .
Besonders bevorzugte Beispiele für R und R1 sind der Methyl-, Ethyl-, Phenyl-, Vinyl- und Cyclohexylrest
Beispiele für R2 / R3 sind H, Methyl-, Ethyl-, n-Propyl-, iso- Propyl-, n-Butyl-, iso-Butyl-, tert . -Butyl-, n-Pentyl-, iso- Pentyl-, neo-Pentyl-, tert . -Pentyl-, n-Hexyl, n-Heptyl, n- Octyl, iso-Octyl, n-Decyl, n-Dodecyl, n-Octadecyl, Vmyl-, Allyl, Cyclopentyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Cycloheptyl-, Methylcyclohexyl-, Phenyl-, Naphthyl, Anthryl-, Phenanthryl-, o-Tolyl-, m-Tolyl-, p-Tolyl-, Xylyl- und Ethylphenyl-, Benzylreste bzw. wenn R2 + R3 einen zyklischen Kohlenwasserstoffrest bildet Piperidm, Morpholm und Piperazin . Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann mit oder ohne Zusatz eines Lösungsmittels oder Lösungsmittelgemisches, sofern das
Lösungsmittel bzw. das Lösungsmittelgemisch die Reaktion nicht beeinflusst oder zu unerwünschten Nebenreaktionen führt, durchgeführt werden.
Vorteilhafterweise wird die Reaktion in einem geeigneten inerten Lösungsmittel oder Lösungsmittelgemisch durchgeführt.
Das inerte Lösungsmittel wird bevorzugt ausgewählt aus der Gruppe enthaltend aliphatische bzw. aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, Ether, oder Mischungen der genannten Lösungsmittel.
Aus der Gruppe der Kohlenwasserstoffe ist insbesondere Hexan, Cyclohexan, Petrolether oder Toluol bevorzugt.
Aus der Gruppe der Ether ist Methyl- tert. -Butylether (MTBE), THF, Diethylether , Diisopropylether oder Dioxan bevorzugt.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann mit oder ohne Zusatz eines Katalysators durchgeführt werden. Vorteilhafterweise wird die Reaktion in Anwesenheit eines geeigneten Katalysators, der die Reaktion nicht negativ beeinflusst oder zu unerwünschten Nebenreaktionen führt, durchgeführt. Geeignete Katalysatoren sind beispielsweise basische Verbindungen, die die während der Reaktion freiwerdende HCl binden können. Bevorzugt verwendet werden basische Amine wie trialkylsubstituierte Amine oder
aromatische Amine. Besonders bevorzugt verwendet wird Triethylamin oder Pyridin.
Die Reaktion wird vorteilhafterweise bei einer Temperatur zwischen -40 0C und + 120 0C durchgeführt, bevorzugt zwischen -10 0C und +80 0C.
Der Reaktionsverlauf lässt sich leicht mit üblichen Methoden, wie beispielsweise über GC oder HPLC verfolgen.
Beispiele: siehe Tabelle 1
50 mmol des entsprechenden Aminomethylsilans werden zusammen mit NEt3 (52 mmol) im jeweiligen Losungsmittel (50 ml) gelost und im Eisbad abgekühlt. Anschließend wird das gewünschte Chlorameisensaureamid bzw. der Chlorameisensaureester (50 mmol) so zugegeben, dass die Temperatur 10 0C nicht überschreitet. Die Reaktionsmischung lasst man dann auf Raumtemperatur erwarmen, rührt 3 h bei dieser Temperatur. Man saugt vom ausgefallenen Niederschlag ab und entfernt das Losungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck. Das erhaltene Rohprodukt wird gegebenenfalls durch fraktionierende Destillation oder Umkπstallisation gereinigt.

KOCN (20.3 g, 0.25 mol) und Diisopropylamin (25.3 g; 0.25 mol), gegeben. Die Lösung wird auf 130 0C erhitzt und 5 h bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Anschließend wird das Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck und man erhält das Reinprodukt durch fraktionierende Destillation als farbloses Öl. Ausbeute: 6.6 g (26.8 mmol; 11 %)
Claims
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Organosiliciumverbindungen mit einer durch ein Blockierungsmittel maskierten Isocyanatgruppe der allgemeinen Formel (I)
umgesetzt wird, wobei R ein jeweils substituierter oder unsubstituierter C1-C15-
Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest , bevorzugt ein C1-C8- Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, besonders bevorzugt ein C1-C3-
Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, ein Acetylrest, ein Siloxanrest, ein Siliconoligomerrest , ein Siliconpolymerrest, ein Siliconharzrest, ein Rest aus kolloidalem SiO2 oder aus
Siliconpartikeln, R1 ein Wasserstoffatom oder einen gegebenenfalls mit -CN, -NCO, -NR2R3, -COOH, -COOR2, -Halogen, -Acryl, -
Epoxy, -SH, -OH oder -CONR2R3 substituierten gesättigten oder ungesättigten C1-C20-kohlenwasserstoffrest , bevorzugt ein gesättigter C1-C8~Kohlenwasserstoff-Rest, besonders bevorzugt ein gesättigter C1 -C3-Kohlenwasserstof f-Rest , in dem jeweils eine oder mehrere, einander nicht benachbarte Methyleneinheiten durch Gruppen -0-, -CO-, -C00-, -0C0-, oder -0C00-, -S-, oder -NR2- ersetzt sein können und in denen eine oder mehrere, einander nicht benachbarte Methineinheiten durch Gruppen, -N=, -N=N-, oder -P= ersetzt sein können, wobei die Reste R1 bei Werten n > 1 gleich oder verschieden sein können, n die Werte 0, 1, 2 haben kann und
R2, R3 gleich oder verschieden sein können und die gleiche Bedeutung wie R1 haben oder auch zusammen einen zyklischen, gegebenenfalls verzweigten gesattigten oder ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 2-30 Kohlenstoffatomen darstellen, der gegebenenfalls durch eine oder mehrere Gruppen funktionalisiert sein kann, und R4 einen Arylrest mit C6-C2o-Kohlenstoffatomen, welcher gegebenenfalls durch oder - SH, oder durch andere, Sauerstoff, Stickstoff, Schwefel oder Phosphor enthaltende Gruppen sowie Kohlenwasserstoffreste funktionalisiert sein kann.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Substituenten R und R1 aus der Gruppe enthaltend Methyl, Ethyl Phenyl, Vmyl- und Cyclohexyl ausgewählt werden und der
Substituent X aus der Gruppe enthaltend Methoxy, Ethoxy, Phenoxy, p-Cl-Phenoxy, Butanonoxim, Dimethylammo,
Diisopropylammo, Methylphenylammo, Benzyl- tert . -butylammo, Tert . -butylmethylamino, Tert . -Butylisopropylammo, Pyrrolidm- 2-on, 2-0xoazepan, 2-Isopropylimidazol, 3, 5-Dimethylpyrazol ausgewählt wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktion in einem inerten Lösungsmittel oder Lösungsmittelgemisch durchgeführt wird.
4. Verfahren nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1-3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als inerte Lösungsmittel Methyl- tert . -Butylether (MTBE) verwendet wird.
5. Verfahren nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1-4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktion in Anwesenheit eines Katalysators durchgeführt wird.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Katalysator Tnethylamm oder Pyπdin verwendet wird.
7. Verfahren nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1-7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktion bei einer Temperatur zwischen -40 0C und +120 0C durchgeführt wird.
