The measurement was performed for 12 hours from the turn-off time (18:00) to the turn-on time (6 hours). Based on these results, according to the international classification of human sleep EEG in Rechtschaffen and Kales (1968), the sleep wakefulness of animals is determined by wakefulness, shallow NREM (stage 1 and 2: light sleep, LS), slow The sleep stages were classified into wave sleep (stage 3 and 4: slow wave sleep, SWS) and REM sleep.
- ritanserin alone reduced the sleep latency of LS from 18.7 minutes to 12.0 minutes and the sleep latency of SWS from 67.3 minutes to 39.3 minutes.
- the breakdown of sleep time increased from 152 minutes to 249 minutes, and the effect of increasing deep sleep was confirmed, but the total sleep time tended to decrease from 602 minutes to 573 minutes ( Figure 2).
- LS sleep with Compound A alone Sleep latency was reduced from 15.0 minutes to 13.3 minutes, and SWS sleep latency was reduced from 57.7 minutes to 31.3 minutes.
- the breakdown of sleep time showed that SWS remained almost unchanged from 136 minutes to 135 minutes, and total sleep time tended to increase slightly from 601 minutes to 610 minutes (Figure 3).
- Animals used 4 Siamese cats (purchased from Narku Co., Ltd.), 2 mouthful Bian short hairs (purchased from Nissei Laboratories) and 1 hybrid cat (purchased from Narku Corp.).
- Electrodes were implanted under pentobarbital anesthesia. Antibiotics were administered to prevent bacterial infection, and acclimatization to the electroencephalogram cage was started 3-4 days after surgery. EEG measurements were taken after 1-2 weeks of acclimatization.

- Wakefolness, slow wave sleep (SWS), and REM sleep (REM) were automatically determined. Furthermore, after these automatic judgments were completed, visual judgments were made, and when the sleep stage judgments were clearly different, the judgments were corrected.
