Abstract

 本発明の透明導電性積層体は、厚さが2~120μmの透明なフィルム基材の一方の面に、透明な第1の誘電体薄膜、透明な第2の誘電体薄膜および透明な導電性薄膜をこの順に積層し、上記フィルム基材の他方の面に、透明な粘着剤層を介して透明基体を貼り合わせてなり、第2の誘電体薄膜は、無機物であるか、または有機物と無機物との混合物であり、上記導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材料の結晶中、最大粒径が300nm以下の結晶含有量が50面積%を超える。かかる透明導電性積層体は、タッチパネル用としての屈曲ペン入力耐久性を高度に満足する。

透明導電性積層体およびタツチパネル
技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムなどのフィルム基材を有する透明導 電性積層体およびそれを用いたタツチパネルに関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] 可視光線領域で透明でかつ導電性を有する薄膜は、液晶ディスプレイ、エレクト口 ルミネッセンスディスプレイなどの新しいディスプレイ方式ゃタツチパネルなどの透明 電極のほか、透明物品の帯電防止や電磁波遮断などのために用いられている。
[0003] 従来、このような透明導電性薄膜としては、ガラス上に酸化インジウム薄膜を形成し たいわゆる導電性ガラスがよく知られている力 基材がガラスであるために可撓性、 加工性に劣り、用途によっては使用できない場合がある。
[0004] このため、近年では、可撓性、加工性にカ卩えて、耐衝撃性に優れ、軽量であるなど の利点から、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムをはじめとする各種のプラスチックフ イルムを基材とした透明導電性薄膜が使用されている。
[0005] しかし、このようなフィルム基材を用いた透明導電性薄膜は、薄膜表面の光線反射 率が大きいため、透明性に劣る問題があり、また導電性薄膜の耐擦傷性ゃ耐屈曲性 に劣り、使用中に傷がついて電気抵抗が増大したり断線を生じたりする問題があった
[0006] また、特にタツチパネル用の導電性薄膜においては、スぺーサを介して対向させた 一対の薄膜同士がその一方のパネル板側からの押圧打点で強く接触するものである ため、これに抗しうる良好な耐久性、つまり打点特性特にペン入力耐久性を有してい ることが望まれる。しかし、上記したような従来の透明導電性薄膜はこの耐久性に劣り 、その分、タツチパネルとしての寿命が短くなる問題があった。
[0007] そこで、フィルム基材を用いた透明導電性薄膜の上記問題を改良する試みがなさ れている。本件出願人も、厚さが 2〜120 mの透明なフィルム基材の一方の面に、 透明な第 1の誘電体薄膜、透明な第 2の誘電体薄膜、および透明な導電性薄膜をこ の順に積層し、上記フィルム基材の他方の面に、透明な粘着剤層を介して透明基体 を貼り合わせてなる透明導電性積層体を提案している (特許文献 1, 2参照)。

発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0008] 上記の透明導電性積層体は、一方の面に導電性薄膜を有するフィルム基材の他 方の面に透明基体を貼り合わせる一方、導電性薄膜とフィルム基材との間に第 1およ び第 2の誘電体薄膜を設け、これらの薄膜とフィルム基材および導電性薄膜の各光 の屈折率が適切な関係を有するように選択して、透明性を向上させ、導電性薄膜の 耐擦傷性、耐屈曲性、タツチパネル用としての打点特性、特にペン入力耐久性を向 上させたものである。
[0009] しカゝるに、本件出願人の引き続く研究により、上記の透明導電性積層体でも、耐屈 曲性の点でなお不十分な場合があることが分力つた。すなわち、タツチパネル市場で は、近年ゲームやスマートフォンといった新規用途が拡大してきており、その際、タツ チパネル設計では、狭額縁化が進んできており、額縁近傍においてより屈曲された 状態で用いられるため、これに抗しうる高い屈曲ペン入力耐久性が望まれている。ま た、より過酷な条件で用いられるようになり、従来の入力荷重よりも重い荷重で入力さ れても耐えうる、高荷重ペン入力耐久性が望まれている。しかし、上記の透明導電性 積層体では、この特性を十分に満足できな 、場合があることが分力 た。
[0010] 本発明は、上記の事情に照らし、既提案の透明導電性積層体をさらに改良し、耐 屈曲性のさらなる改善によりタツチパネル用としての打点特性、特に耐屈曲ペン入力 耐久性を高度に満足し、同時に高荷重ペン入力耐久性を高度に満足する透明導電 性積層体とこれを用いたタツチパネルを提供することを目的とする。
課題を解決するための手段
[0011] 本発明者らは、上記の目的に対する鋭意検討の過程で、既提案の透明導電性積 層体において、フィルム基材上に第 1および第 2の誘電体薄膜を介して設ける導電 性薄膜の結晶粒径に注目した。この結晶粒径は、導電性薄膜自体の材料構成 (例え ば、酸化スズを含有する酸化インジウム薄膜ではその酸化スズ含有量の増減など)に より、またこの薄膜の下地となる第 2の誘電体薄膜の材料構成により、さらにはこれら 各薄膜の形成方法などにより、変化する。
[0012] そこで、導電性薄膜の結晶粒径の異なる多数個の透明導電性積層体を作製し、そ の性能について、詳細な実験検討を繰り返した。その結果、上記の結晶粒径および 粒径分布と導電性薄膜の耐屈曲性との間に密接な関係があり、特定の粒径を有する 結晶の含有量を特定範囲に規制したときに、上記耐屈曲姓の改善を図れて、タツチ パネル用としての打点特性、特にペン入力耐久性はもちろん、屈曲ペン入力耐久性 を大きく向上できることを知り、本発明を完成した。
[0013] すなわち、本発明は、厚さが 2〜120 μ mの透明なフィルム基材の一方の面に、透 明な第 1の誘電体薄膜、透明な第 2の誘電体薄膜および透明な導電性薄膜をこの順 に積層し、上記フィルム基材の他方の面に、透明な粘着剤層を介して透明基体を貼 り合わせてなり、
第 2の誘電体薄膜は、無機物であるか、または有機物と無機物との混合物であり、 上記導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材料の結晶中、最大粒径が 300nm以下 の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えることを特徴とする透明導電性積層体、に関する。
[0014] 前記透明導電性積層体にお!、て、透明な導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材 料の結晶中、最大粒径が 200nm以下の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えることが好ま しい。

発明の効果
[0021] このように、本発明の透明導電性積層体は、フィルム基材の一方の面に第 1および 第 2の誘電体薄膜を介して設ける導電性薄膜に関し、第 2の誘電体薄膜を無機物、 または有機物と無機物との混合物により形成するとともに、導電性薄膜を形成する材 料の結晶中、特定の粒径を有する結晶の含有量が特定範囲となるようにしたことによ り、導電性薄膜の耐擦傷性とともに耐屈曲性のさらなる改善により、耐久性がより一段 と向上し、タツチパネル用としての打点特性、特にペン入力耐久性に加えて、屈曲べ ン入力耐久性を高度に満足する。また本発明の透明導電性積層体は各薄膜の厚さ や屈折率が適切な関係を有するように選択することで、透明性などの諸特性を満足 できる。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0024] 本発明におけるフィルム基材は、その材質に特に限定はなぐ適宜なものを使用す ることができる。具体的には、ポリエステル系榭脂、アセテート系榭脂、ポリエーテルス ルホン系榭脂、ポリカーボネート系榭脂、ポリアミド系榭脂、ポリイミド系榭脂、ポリオレ フィン系榭脂、アクリル系榭脂、ポリ塩ィ匕ビ二ル系榭脂、ポリスチレン系榭脂、ポリビニ ルアルコール系榭脂、ポリアリレート系榭脂、ポリフエ二レンサルファイド系榭脂、ポリ 塩ィ匕ビ -リデン系榭脂、(メタ)アクリル系榭脂などが挙げられる。これらの中でも、特 に好ましいものは、ポリエステル系榭脂、ポリカーボネート系榭脂、ポリオレフイン系榭 脂などである。
[0025] これらのフィルム基材の厚さは、 2〜120 mの範囲にあることが必要であり、特に 好ましくは 6〜: LOO μ mの範囲にあるのがよい。厚さが 2 μ m未満では、フィルム基材 としての機械的強度が不足し、この基材をロール状にして誘電体薄膜や導電性薄膜 などの薄膜さらには粘着剤層を連続的に形成する操作が難しくなる。また、厚さが 12 0 mを超えると、後述する粘着剤層のクッション効果に基づく導電性薄膜の耐擦傷 性ゃタツチパネル用としての打点特性の向上を図れなくなる。
[0026] このようなフィルム基材は、その表面にあらかじめスパッタリング、コロナ放電、火炎 、紫外線照射、電子線照射、化成、酸化などのエッチング処理や、下塗り処理を施し て、この上に設けられる第一の誘電体薄膜のフィルム基材に対する密着性を向上さ せるようにしてもよい。また、第一の誘電体薄膜を設ける前に、必要に応じて、溶剤洗 浄ゃ超音波洗浄などにより除塵、清浄ィ匕を行うようにしてもよい。
[0027] 本発明においては、このように構成されるフィルム基材の一方の面に、透明な導電 性薄膜を設ける前に、その下地として、透明な第 1の誘電体薄膜および透明な第 2の 誘電体薄膜を、この順に積層する。第 2の誘電体薄膜は無機物、または有機物と無 機物との混合物により形成する。このように下地薄膜を積層することにより、透明性お よび導電性薄膜の耐擦傷性ゃ耐屈曲性が向上するとともに、タツチパネル用としての 打点特性の向上に好結果が得られる。

[0036] 前記導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材料の結晶は、さら〖こは、最大粒径 200η m以下の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えるようすることが好ましい。さらには、最大粒 径 lOOnm以下の範囲の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えるようにするのがよい。また 前記結晶含有量は、 70面積%以上であることが好ましぐさらには、 80面積%以上 であることが好ましい。このように導電性薄膜中の結晶を制御することにより、耐屈曲 性のさらなる改善が図れ、屈曲時のクラック発生などを抑制でき、タツチパネル用とし ての屈曲ペン入力耐久性を大きく向上できることが見出された。なお、導電性薄膜の 結晶粒径が小さくなりすぎると、導電性薄膜中に非結晶状態に類似した部分が存在 し、信頼性やペン耐久性が低下するため、結晶粒径が極端に小さくなりすぎないよう にするのが望ましい。かかる観点から、結晶の最大粒径は、 lOnm以上、さら〖こは、 3 Onm以上であるのが好まし!/、。
[0037] また、導電性薄膜を形成する材料は、結晶の最大粒径 300nmを超えるものがな ヽ 場合が好ましい。さら〖こは、導電性薄膜を形成する材料の結晶の最大粒径の分布を 、 ί列えば、 lOOnm以下、 100超〜 200nm、 200超〜 300nmに分けた場合には、各 分布幅に結晶が集中するのではなぐ少なくとも 2つの分布幅を有する場合が耐久性 のバランスの点力も好ましい。少なくとも 2つの分布幅は、それぞれ、少なくとも 5面積 %の結晶含有量を有することが好ましい。特に、 lOOnm以下の分布幅と、 100超〜 200nmの分布幅に、少なくとも 5面積%の結晶含有量を有することが好ましい。最も 好ましくは、 lOOnm以下の分布幅の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超え、さらには 70面 積%以上、さらには 80面積%以上であり、残りの結晶が 100超〜 200nmの分布幅 に存在する場合が好ま ヽ。また導電性薄膜を形成する材料の結晶の最大粒径の 平均粒径 ίま、 50〜250nm、さら【こ ίま、 60〜150nm、さら【こ ίま 70〜: LOOnmであるの が好ましい。
[0038] 導電性薄膜の結晶粒径および粒径分布を上記のように規制するには、導電性薄膜 の材料構成やその薄膜形成方法を適宜選択すればよい。例えば、導電性薄膜が、 酸化スズを含有する酸化インジウム (ITO)により形成されている場合には、 ITO中の 酸化スズ含量を増やすことにより、粒径が小さい結晶の含有割合を増大させることが できる。 ITO中の酸化スズ含有量 (酸化インジウムと酸化スズの合計に対する酸化ス ズの含有量)は、好ましくは 2〜50重量%、さらに好ましくは 3〜15重量%、特に 3〜 10重量%である。

実施例

[0058] 導電性薄膜の結晶粒径および粒径分布は、電界放出型透過型電子顕微鏡 (FE— TEM, Hitachi, HF- 2000)により、導電性薄膜の表面観察を行い、評価した。結 晶の最大粒径は具体的には、次の方法で測定した。まずポリエステルフィルム上に、 スパッタリングで ITO膜を形成する。これをシャーレに静置し、へキサフルォロイソプ ロパノールを静に注ぎ、ポリエステルフィルムを溶解除去する。そして白金製のメッシ ュで ITOの薄膜をすくい取り、透過型電子顕微鏡のサンプルステージに固定する。こ れを各例に応じて 5万倍〜 20万倍ほどの倍率で写真撮影し、 1. 5 m X l. 5 mの 面積当たりに存在する結晶の最大粒径を観察して評価した。 [0059] 実施例 1

[0079] また、各透明導電性積層体について、フィルム抵抗および光の透過率とともに、導 電性薄膜側の硬度および弾性率を、下記の方法により、測定した。これらの結果は、 表 3に示されるとおりであった。
[0080] なお、上記の硬度および弾性率の測定に際し、フィルム基材 (PETフィルム)の裏 面に粘着剤層および透明基体を設けていない積層体、つまり、図 4に示すようなフィ ルム基材 1の一方の面に下地薄膜 (第丄の誘電体薄膜 2および または第 2の誘電 体薄膜 3)を介して導電性薄膜 (ITO薄膜) 4を形成した積層体を、被試験体として使 用した。

四端子法を用いて、フィルムの表面電気抵抗( Ω Z口)を測定した。
[0082] <光の透過率 >
島津製作所製の分光分析装置 UV— 240を用いて、光波長 550nmにおける可視 光線透過率を測定した。
[0083] <導電性薄膜側の硬度および弾性率 >
インデンテーション試験により、本文詳記の方法で、導電性薄膜側の硬度および弾 性率を測定した。すなわち、図 4に示したように、被試験体をその導電性薄膜 (ITO 薄膜) 4を上にして試料台 20に固定した。このように固定した状態で、導電性薄膜 4 側に圧子 21を垂直方向に荷重をかけて押し込み、インデンテーション曲線 (荷重 押し込み深さ曲線)を得た。これより、前記式(1)、 (2)に基づいて、導電性薄膜側の 硬度および弾性率を算出した。
[0084] 測定は、走査型プローブ顕微鏡 (JEOL. LTDZ日本電子: JSPM— 4200)を用い た。また、圧子 21には、ダイヤモンド圧子(三角錐)(TI— 037 90° )を用いた。この 圧子を用い、垂直方向に荷重 20 Nで、一回のインデント (圧子押し込み)を 3秒間 で行い、 1サンプルにっき、 5回測定し、平均値を求めた。各回の測定は、圧痕の影 響が生じな 、ように、測定箇所の距離を十分にとった。
[0085] つぎに、上記の実施例 1〜7および比較例 1〜5の各タツチパネルについて、下記 の方法により、打点特性、ペン入力耐久性および屈曲ペン入力耐久性を測定した。 これらの結果は、表 3に示されるとおりであった。

透明導電性積層体で構成したパネル板側から、硬度 40度のウレタンゴムカゝらなる口 ッド(鍵先 7R)を用いて、荷重 lOOgで 100万回のセンター打点を打つたのち、フィル ム抵抗 (Rd)を測定し、初期のフィルム抵抗 (Ro)に対する変化率 (RdZRo)を求め て、打点特性を評価した。なお、上記フィルム抵抗の測定は、対向配置した導電性薄 膜同士の打点時の接触抵抗にっ 、て行 、、その平均値で表したものである。 [0087] <高荷重ペン入力耐久性 >
(A):透明導電性積層体で構成したパネル板側から、ポリアセタールカゝらなるペン( ペン先 RO. 8mm)を用いて、荷重 500gで 30万回の摺動を行った。摺動後、以下の ようにリニアリティーを測定し、高荷重ペン入力耐久性を評価した。

[0089] なお、リニアリティー測定の概略は、図 5に示すとおりである。タツチパネルを用いる 画像表示装置では、ペンで押さえられることにより上部パネルと下部パネルの接触部 分の抵抗値から画面上に表示されるペンの位置が決定されて!、る。上部および下部 パネル表面の出力電圧分布が理論線 (理想線)のようになって!/ヽるものとして抵抗値 は決められる。すると、電圧値が、図 5の実測値のように理論線カゝらずれると、実際の ペン位置と抵抗値によって決まる画面上のペン位置がうまく同調しなくなる。理論線 力ものずれがリニアリティーであり、その値が大きいほど、実際のペン位置と画面上の ペンの位置のずれが大きくなる。
[0090] (B):また、透明導電性積層体で構成したパネル板側から、ポリアセタールからなる ペン (ペン先 RO. 8mm)を用いて、各荷重で 10万回の摺動を行った。摺動後のリニ ァリティーが 1. 5%以下である最大荷重を求めた。この荷重が重いほど、ペン入力耐 久性の特性が優れて 、ることを意味する。
[0091] <屈曲ペン入力耐久性 >
(A):透明導電性積層体で構成したパネル板側から、ポリアセタールカゝらなるペン( ペン先 RO. 8mm)を用いて、荷重 250gで 5万回の摺動を行った。その際、図 6に示 すように両パネルの PIと P2のギャップを 300 μ mとし、パネル板 PI側から入力ペン 1 0を摺動させたときのペン摺動角度 Θが 4. 0° となるようにした。この摺動後、透明導 電性積層体のリニアリティーを前記と同じように測定し、屈曲ペン入力耐久性を評価 した。
[0092] (B):透明導電性積層体で構成したパネル板側から、ポリアセタール力 なるペン( ペン先 RO. 8mm)を用いて、荷重 250gで 10万回の摺動を行った。その際、図 6に 示すように両パネルの P1と P2の間隔を調整して角度 Θを変化させ、各角度で、パネ ル板 P1側力も入力ペン 10を摺動させたときの摺動後のリニアリティーが 1. 5%以下 となる角度 Θを求めた。この角度が大きいほど、屈曲ペン入力耐久性の特性が優れ ていることを意味する。

[0094] 上記の表 3の結果から明らかなように、本発明の実施例 1 7の透明導電性積層体 は、透明性が良好で導電性も満足するものであり、また導電性薄膜側の硬度は 1. 5 GPa以上、導電性薄膜側の弾性率は 6GPa以上で、優れた特性を備えており、これ を用いたタツチパネルは、打点特性およびペン入力耐久性に優れ、さらに屈曲ペン 入力耐久性にも優れてレ、ることが分かる。
[0095] これに対して、第 1の誘電体薄膜または第 2の誘電体薄膜を形成しなかった比較例 1、 2、 4では、透明導電性積層体の透明性に劣り、またタツチパネルとしての耐久性 に劣っている。さらに、導電性薄膜の結晶中、粒径 300nmを超える結晶の含有量が 50面積%を超える比較例 3、 5では、屈曲ペン入力耐久性に劣っている。
産業上の利用可能性
本発明の透明導電性積層体は、液晶ディスプレイ、エレクト口ルミネッセンスデイス プレイゃタツチパネルに好適に用いられる。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 厚さが 2〜120 /z mの透明なフィルム基材の一方の面に、透明な第 1の誘電体薄膜 、透明な第 2の誘電体薄膜および透明な導電性薄膜をこの順に積層し、上記フィル ム基材の他方の面に、透明な粘着剤層を介して透明基体を貼り合わせてなり、 第 2の誘電体薄膜は、無機物であるか、または有機物と無機物との混合物であり、 上記導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材料の結晶中、最大粒径が 300nm以下 の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えることを特徴とする透明導電性積層体。
[2] 透明な導電性薄膜は、この薄膜を形成する材料の結晶中、最大粒径が 200nm以 下の結晶含有量が 50面積%を超えることを特徴とする請求項 1記載の透明導電性 積層体。
[3] 透明な導電性薄膜の硬度が 1. 5GPa以上であり、弾性率が 6GPa以上であること を特徴とする請求項 1記載の透明導電性積層体。
[4] 導電性薄膜は、酸化スズを含有する酸化インジウムにより形成されており、酸化イン ジゥムと酸化スズの合計に対する酸化スズの含有量は、 2〜50重量であることを特徴 とする請求項 1記載の透明導電性積層体。
[5] 酸化インジウムと酸化スズの合計に対する酸化スズの含有量は、 3〜15重量%で あることを特徴とする請求項 4記載の透明導電性積層体。
[6] フィルム基材の光の屈折率を n、第 1の誘電体薄膜の光の屈折率を n、第 2の誘電

[8] 第 2の誘電体薄膜は、真空蒸着法により形成された無機物であることを特徴とする 請求項 1記載の透明導電性積層体。
[9] 導電性薄膜を有する一対のパネル板を、導電性薄膜同士が対向するようにスぺー サを介して対向配置してなるタツチパネルにおいて、パネル板の少なくとも一方が、 請求項 1〜8のいずれかに記載の透明導電性積層体からなることを特徴とするタツチ ノ ネノレ
