 第2の矩形導波管(20)は第1の矩形導波管(10)に対してH面とE面がそれぞれ45°傾いている。第1・第2の矩形導波管(10),(20)の接続部(30)は、その電磁波伝搬方向に延びる中心軸方向を取り囲む内周面が第1の矩形導波管(10)のH面とE面にそれぞれ平行な面を備え、これらの面により階段形状をなすとともに、H面に平行な面とE面に平行な面との衝合部で突出部を構成している。そしてこの階段の昇降傾斜の向きを第2の矩形導波管(20)のH面の傾斜方向に傾けている。これにより、接続部(30)の突出部に電界が集中し、接続部(30)を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を第1の矩形導波管(10)から第2の矩形導波管(20)の偏波面方向へ旋回させる。

ツイスト導波管および無線装置
技術分野
[0001] この発明は、 2つの矩形伝搬路を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を旋回させるツイスト導 波管に関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] 従来、最も一般的なツイスト導波管として、図 14に示すよう文字通り矩形導波管を ねじった構造の装置が用いられている。しかし、このような構造のツイスト導波管では 急激なねじり加工を施すことができないので、電磁波の伝搬方向に所定の長さが必 要であり、し力も連結部分に広い空間が必要となる。そこで、これを解消するものとし て特許文献 1が示されている。図 15はその特許文献 1のツイスト導波管の構成を示し ている。ここで第 1の矩形導波管 1に対して第 2の矩形導波管 2を所定角度だけ傾け て取り付け、この第 1の矩形導波管と第 2の矩形導波管 2との間に、所定周波数を通 過中心周波数とする共振窓またはフィルタ窓 3を、偏波面が上記所定角度の 1Z2だ け傾けた状態で取り付けて 、る。

発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0003] ところ力 図 15に示したような構造では W帯(75— 110GHz)のような高周波では 共振窓またはフィルタ窓の寸法が極端に小さくなつて、その加工が困難になること、 共振を利用するので利用可能な周波数帯域が狭くなること、といった問題が生じる。
[0004] この発明の目的は、上述の問題を解消して、偏波面の旋回に要する空間を広くす ることなぐ且つ利用可能な周波数帯域を広く確保できるようにしたツイスト導波管お よびそれを備えた無線装置を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段
[0005] この発明のツイスト導波管は、互いに偏波面が異なる第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路と、当 該第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路を接続する接続部とを備え、前記接続部が第 1 ·第 2の矩 形伝搬路の電磁波伝搬方向に一定の線路長を有し、第 1または第 2の矩形伝搬路 から入射する電磁波の電界を集中させて、伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を旋回させる、 内部に対向して突出する突出部を備えたことを特徴としている。

[0011] この発明によれば、第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路の接続部に、内部に対向して突出する 突出部を設けたことにより、第 1または第 2の矩形伝搬路力 入射する電磁波の電界 力 その突出部に集中して、接続部を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面が旋回する。このこと により、接続部で第 1の矩形伝搬路力 第 2の矩形伝搬路の方向へ、または第 2の矩 形伝搬路力 第 1の矩形伝搬路の方向へ偏波面を旋回させることができる。この構造 では、図 15に示したような共振窓やフィルタ窓を用いないので広帯域特性が得られ る。また矩形導波管の全体のひねり構造によって偏波面を旋回させるものではな ヽ ので、狭い空間内で電磁波の偏波面を旋回させることができる。
[0012] またこの発明によれば、接続部の内周面が第 1の矩形伝搬路の H面と E面にそれ ぞれ略平行な面を備え、 H面に平行な面と E面に平行な面との衝合部で前記突出部 を構成する階段形状をなしているので、し力も階段の昇降傾斜の向きを第 2の矩形 伝搬路の H面の傾斜方向に傾くようにしているので、各部を平面のみで構成でき、ま た多くの平行面で構成でき、第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路と共に接続部の加工が容易とな り、製造コストが削減できる。その結果低コストィ匕が図れる。
[0013] またこの発明によれば、 2箇所の突出部同士のなす面が第 1の矩形伝搬路の E面よ り第 2の矩形伝搬路の E面方向へ傾いていることにより、わず力 2つの突出部を形成 するだけで接続部を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を旋回させることができ、全体形状の 簡素化により製造コストを更に抑えることができる。
[0014] またこの発明によれば、前記接続部の電磁波伝搬方向の寸法を伝搬させるべき電 磁波の周波数における管内波長の略 1Z2にしたことにより、管内波長に対応する周 波数で接続部と第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路との整合がとれる。すなわち、第 1の矩形伝 搬路と接続部との境界での反射係数と、第 2の矩形伝搬路と接続部との境界での反 射係数とを逆極性の関係にしておくことによって、 2つの反射波が逆位相で重ね合わ されるので両反射波が相殺されて反射損失が抑えられる。
[0015] さらにこの発明によれば、前記接続部を電磁波伝搬方向に沿って複数箇所に配置 したことにより、 1段の接続部では偏波面の旋回角度が稼げない場合でも、全体に大 きな旋回角度をもたせることができる。し力も、接続部と第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路との境 界部分での形状の違いを小さくできるので反射損失も抑えられる。
[0016] またこの発明によれば、送受信信号を伝搬する伝搬路の偏波面とは異なった偏波 面で電磁波を送受波でき、例えば水平面に対して所定角度だけ偏波面を傾けた電 磁波を送受波する無線装置を容易に構成できるようになる。

[0019] 第 1の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管の構成を図 1一図 3を基に説明する。
図 1はツイスト導波管の内面 (電磁波伝搬路部分)の立体構造を示す斜視図である 。このツイスト導波管 110は、この発明に係る第 1の矩形伝搬路に相当する第 1の矩 形導波管 10、この発明に係る第 2の矩形伝搬路に相当する第 2の矩形導波管 20、 および接続部 30とから構成されている。第 1の矩形導波管 10および第 2の矩形導波 管 20は、それぞれ電磁波伝搬方向に垂直な断面での長辺方向を H面、短辺方向を E面として TE10モードの電磁波を伝搬する。図 1中の「H」は、磁界のループ面(H 面)に平行な面を表している。また、「E」は、電界の向きに平行な面 (E面)に平行な 面を表している。第 1の矩形導波管 10、第 2の矩形導波管 20、接続部 30のそれぞれ の電磁波伝搬方向の中心軸 oは同一の直線上にある。

[0023] 図 2の(B)において、接続部 30には、内部に対向して突出する突出部 31a, 32aと 突出部 31b, 32bを設けている。この接続部 30の内周面は、第 1の矩形導波管 10の H面に平行な面 ShOl, Sh02, Sh03, Shl l, Shl2, Shl3と、第 1の矩形導波管 1 0の E面に平行な面 SvOl, Sv02, Svl l, Svl2, SvlO, Sv20と力ら構成されて!ヽ る。これらの H面に平行な面と E面に平行な面とによって階段形状をなしている。そし て、この階段の昇降傾斜の向きが第 2の矩形導波管 20の H面の傾斜方向に傾くよう に構成している。この例では、階段の昇降傾斜の傾きを第 2の矩形導波管 20の H面 の傾斜角の略 1Z2の 22. 5° にしている。
[0024] 上記第 1の矩形導波管 10の H面に平行な面と E面に平行な面との衝合部が上記 突出部 31a, 32a、 31b, 32bを構成している。このように接続部 30の内側に突出す る突出部 31a, 32a, 31b, 32b部分に電界が集中する。そのため、接続部 30の図に おける上面の突出部と下面の突出部との間に電界の向きが生じ、この接続部 30にお ける電磁波の偏波面が傾き、この接続部 30を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を旋回させ ることになる。
[0025] 図 1 ·図 2において、導波管 10と導波管 20とは偏波面が異なるだけで断面形状が 一致するので、導波管 10から接続部 30を見たときの反射係数と導波管 20から接続 部 30を見たときの反射係数は、接続部 30の突出部の高さや突出部の幅を調節する ことによって比較的容易に等しくすることができる。導波管 10から接続部 30を見たと きの反射係数と導波管 20から接続部 30を見たときの反射係数が等 ヽと ヽうことは、 導波管 10から接続部 30を見たときの反射係数と接続部 30から導波管 20を見たとき の反射係数が逆極性で大きさが等し 、と 、うことである。
[0026] このとき、接続部 30の線路長を管内波長の 1Z2とすると、導波管 10から導波管 20 へ電磁波が伝搬するとして、導波管 10と接続部 30との境界での反射波と、接続部 3 0と導波管 20との境界での反射波は 1波長ずれて重なる。逆極性の反射波がそのま ま重ね合わされるので、反射波は互いに打ち消しあって抑制される。
[0027] 図 3は上述したように 2つの反射係数の極性が逆極性である場合のツイスト導波管 の反射損失の周波数特性を示して!/、る。図 3の太線は接続部の線路長を設計周波 数での管内波長の 1Z2とした場合の特性である。細線は比較例であり、線路長を設 計周波数での管内波長の 1Z4とした場合の特性である。このように接続部の線路長 が管内波長の 1Z4であれば、第 1 ·第 2の矩形導波管と接続部との間の境界面でそ れぞれ生じる反射のために- 9dB程度の大きな反射損失が生じる。一方、接続部 30 の線路長を設計周波数での管内波長の 1Z2とすれば、第 1の矩形導波管 10と接続 部 30との間で生じる反射波と、第 2の矩形導波管 20と接続部 30との接続部で生じる 反射波とが相殺されて反射損失が最も小さくなる。このツイスト導波管の設計周波数 は 76. 6GHzであり、太線で示すように設計周波数で 60dBという極めて低反射損 失特性が得られる。伝搬する電磁波の周波数がこの設計周波数からずれるほど反射 損失が大きくなる力 76— 77GHzの比較的広い周波数帯域で- 40dB以下の低反 射損失特性が得られることがわ力る。
[0028] 図 4は第 2の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管の構成を示す図である。 (A) , (B)はそ れぞれ形状の異なるツイスト導波管の接続部の電磁波伝搬方向に垂直な面での断 面図である。図 1,図 2に示した例では、内部に対向して突出する突出部の組を 2組( 4つの突出部)を設けたが、 (A)の例では 3組の突出部(6つの突出部)を設けている 。また (B)では 5組の突出部(10個の突出部)を設けている。このように、接続部 30の 設ける突出部の数は任意である。
[0029] 図 5は第 3の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管の構成を示している。この例では、第 2 の矩形導波管 20の H面が第 1の矩形導波管 10の H面に対して 15° 傾いている。し たがって、接続部 30ではそこを伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を 15° 旋回させる。このよ うに旋回角度が小さければ接続部 30の階段形状部分の昇降傾斜の角度も小さくな るので、階段の各段差は小さくなる。これとは逆に旋回角度を大きくする場合には接 続部 30の階段形状部分の昇降傾斜の角度を大きくし、階段の段差も大きくすること になる。
[0030] 次に第 4の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管について図 6 ·図 7を基に説明する。
これまでに示した各図では、電磁波伝搬路の内面形状のみを示したが、具体的に は切削加工などにより溝を形成した複数の金属ブロックを組み合わせてツイスト導波 管を構成することができる。図 6はその 3つの例について示している。これらはいずれ も接続部の電磁波伝搬方向に垂直な面での断面図である。図中の破線は金属プロ ック同士の接合面 (分割面)である。この接続部と第 1 ·第 2の矩形導波管との関係は 図 1 ·図 2に示したものと同様である。 (A) , (C)はいずれも第 1の矩形導波管の H面 に平行な面を分割面としている。特に (A)では金属ブロック 101に加工する溝内面の 面数が小さくなるように分割面を定めて 、る。また(C)では上下の金属ブロック 100, 101に設ける溝が対称性をなすように接続部の中央を分割面として!ヽる。

[0034] 図 8は第 5の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管の構成を示す斜視図である。図 1 ·図 5 などに示した例では第 1 ·第 2の矩形導波管 10, 20を同一サイズの導波管としたが、 この両者を異なったサイズの導波管としてもよい。図 8に示す例では、第 1の矩形導 波管 10は 2. 54mm X I. 27mmの W帯(75— 110GHz)用矩形導波管、第 2の矩 形導波管 20は 3. 10mm X I. 55mmの V帯(50— 75GHz)用矩形導波管である。
[0035] 75GHz帯の信号を扱う場合には W帯の矩形導波管と V帯の矩形導波管のいずれ をも用いることができるが、この図 8に示したように、接続部 30の階段の昇降傾斜の方 向に H面が傾く第 2の矩形導波管 20を第 1の矩形導波管 10よりサイズの大きな導波 管としたことにより、接続部 30と第 2の矩形導波管 20との間の形状変化が小さくなり、 その境界での反射を小さく抑えることができる。
[0036] 図 9の第 6の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管の主要部の構成を示す図である。この 例は対向する一対の(2つの)突出部 31, 32を設けた例である。 (A) , (B)のいずれ も接続部 30の階段形状の昇降傾斜の向きが第 2の矩形導波管の H面の傾斜方向に 傾いていることによって電磁波の偏波面の旋回効果が生じる。しかし、(A)では第 1 の矩形導波管の E面に平行な向きに 2つの突出部 31, 32が対向しているので、この 2つの突出部 31, 32による電界集中箇所が第 1の矩形導波管の E面に平行となって 、この接続部 30を伝搬する電磁波の偏波面を第 2の矩形導波管の偏波面方向に旋 回させる能力は小さい。これに対して、(B)の例では互いに対向する突出部 31, 32 同士のなす面が第 1の矩形導波管の E面より第 2の矩形導波管の E面方向へ傾けて いるので、この 2つの突出部 31, 32部分に集中する電界向きが第 2の矩形導波管の E面方向へ傾く。したがって、第 1の矩形導波管から入射した電磁波が接続部 30を 伝搬する際、電磁波は第 2の矩形導波管の E面方向へ効率よく旋回することになる。 このようにして 1組の突出部であっても電磁波偏波面の旋回効果をもたせることがで きる。
[0037] 次に第 7の実施形態に係るツイスト導波管について図 10·図 11を参照して説明す る。
図 10はツイスト導波管の全体形状の斜視図と各部の電磁波伝搬経路に垂直な面 での断面図である。(A)は電磁波伝搬経路の立体構造を示す斜視図であり、六面体 形状の稜線 Rはこの導波路部分を構成する金属ブロックの外形を示して!/、る。第 1の 矩形導波管 10と第 2の矩形導波管 20との間には接続部 30を構成しているが、この 例では接続部 30を第 1の接続部 30aと第 2の接続部 30bとで構成している。図 10の( B)は第 1の矩形導波管 10部分の断面図、(C)は第 1の接続部 30a部分の断面図、 ( D)は第 2の接続部 30b部分の断面図、 (E)は第 2の矩形導波管 20部分の断面図で ある。図中に示した各部の寸法の単位はいずれも [mm]である。また第 1の接続部 3 Oaの電磁波伝搬方向の線路長は 1. 46mm,第 2の接続部 30bの電磁波伝搬方向 の線路長は 1. 33mmとしている。この第 1 ·第 2の接続部 30a, 30bの合計線路長は 第 1 ·第 2の接続部を伝搬させるべき電磁波の周波数における管内波長の 1Z2であ る。また第 1の矩形導波管 10と第 1の接続部 30aとの境界部分の反射係数の極性と 、第 2の矩形導波管 20と第 2の接続部 30bとの境界部分の反射係数の極性を逆の関 係にしている。そのため、上記 2つの境界部分で生じる 2つの反射波が相殺され、低 反射損失特性が得られる。
[0038] このように接続部を 2段階にすることによって、各段での偏波面の旋回角度は小さく てすみ、各境界での反射損失も小さくなる。その結果、全体に低反射損失特性を有 するツイスト導波管を構成できる。し力も、接続部全体の線路長を管内波長の 1Z2に したことによって全体に大型化することもない。
[0039] なお、この第 1 ·第 2の接続部 30a, 30bのそれぞれの線路長を、そこを伝搬させる べき電磁波の周波数における管内波長の 1Z2としてもよい。そのことによって更なる 低反射損失特性が得られる。
[0040] 第 2の矩形導波管 20の第 1の矩形導波管 10に対する各面の傾斜角は 45° であり 、それに合わせて第 1の接続部 30aの階段部分の昇降傾斜の傾きを約 15° 、第 2の 接続部 30bの階段形状の昇降傾斜の傾きを約 30° としている。このようにして第 1 · 第 2の接続部 30a, 30bでそれぞれ電磁波の偏波面を約 22. 5° ずつ旋回させ、合 わせて 45° 旋回する特性を得ている。
[0041] 図 11は図 10に示したツイスト導波管の Sパタメータの周波数特性を示している。透 過特性 S21は 71— 81GHz以上に亘つて- 0. 5dBより低損失特性が得られている。 また同様の広 、周波数帯域に亘つて 25dB以下の低反射特性が得られて 、る。

図 12はこのミリ波レーダに用いる誘電体レンズアンテナの構成を示す斜視図である 。 (A)はその 1次放射器部分を示している。ここで矩形ホーン 21がこの発明に係る第 2の矩形伝搬路に相当する。この矩形ホーン 21と第 1の矩形導波管 10との間に第 1 · 第 2の接続部 30a, 30bからなる接続部 30を設け、この接続部 30で、そこを伝搬する 電磁波の偏波面を旋回させるようにして 、る。このようにして第 1の矩形導波管 10、 接続部 30、および矩形ホーン 21によって 1次放射器 11( を構成している。 [0043] (B)は誘電体レンズアンテナの構成を示している。このように 1次放射器 11( の矩 形ホーン 21を誘電体レンズ 40の焦点位置付近に配置し、且つ誘電体レンズ 40との 相対位置を変位させることによって送受波ビームのスキャニングを行うように構成して いる。この例では 1次放射器に矩形ホーンを用いた力 その他に円形ホーン、パッチ アンテナ、スロットアンテナ、誘電体ロッドアンテナ等を用いることができる。
[0044] 図 13は上記誘電体レンズアンテナを用いたミリ波レーダの信号系の構成を示すブ ロック図である。図 13において、 VC051は、ガンダイオードまたは FETとバラクタダ ィオード等を用いた電圧制御発振器であり、発振信号を NRDガイドを経由して 分 岐カプラ 52へ与える。 Lo分岐カプラ 52は、送信信号の一部をローカル信号として取 り出す NRDガイドカゝらなる方向性結合器である。サーキユレータ 53は、 NRDガイド サーキユレータであり、送信信号を誘電体レンズアンテナの 1次放射器としての矩形 ホーン 21へ与え、また矩形ホーン 21からの受信信号をミキサー 54へ伝送する。ミキ サ 54はサーキユレータ 53からの受信信号と上記ローカル信号とを混合して中間周波 の受信信号 Rxを出力する。図外の信号処理回路は、 1次放射器 110' の矩形ホー ン 21の位置を変位させる機構を制御するとともに VC051の変調信号 Txと受信信号 Rxとの関係から、物標までの距離と相対速度を検知する。なお、 1次放射器 110' の第 1の矩形導波管 10以外の伝送線路としては上記 NRDガイド以外に MSLを用 いてもよい。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 互いに偏波面が異なる第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路と、当該第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路を接 続する接続部とを備え、
前記接続部は第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路の電磁波伝搬方向に一定の線路長を有し、 第 1または第 2の矩形伝搬路から入射する電磁波の電界を集中させて、伝搬する電 磁波の偏波面を旋回させる、内部に対向して突出する突出部を備えたことを特徴と するツイスト導波管。
[2] 前記接続部の第 1 ·第 2の矩形伝搬路の電磁波伝搬方向に延びる中心軸を取り囲 む内周面が、第 1の矩形伝搬路の Η面と Ε面にそれぞれ略平行な面を備え、当該面 により階段形状をなすとともに Η面に平行な面と Ε面に平行な面との衝合部で前記突 出部を構成し、且つ階段の昇降傾斜の向きが第 2の矩形伝搬路の Η面の傾斜方向 に傾くようにした請求項 1に記載のツイスト導波管。
[3] 前記突出部を 2箇所に設け、該突出部同士のなす面を第 1の矩形伝搬路の Ε面よ り第 2の矩形伝搬路の Ε面方向へ傾けた請求項 2に記載のツイスト導波管。
[4] 前記接続部の電磁波伝搬方向の線路長を伝搬させるべき電磁波の周波数におけ る管内波長の略 1Z2にした請求項 1一 3のいずれかに記載のツイスト導波管。
[5] 前記接続部を電磁波伝搬方向に沿って複数箇所に配置した請求項 1一 4の 、ず れかに記載のツイスト導波管。
[6] 請求項 1一 5のいずれかに記載のツイスト導波管と、該ツイスト導波管の第 1または 第 2の矩形伝搬路に接続したアンテナとを備えた無線装置。
