Abstract

摩擦損失を低減可能であり、かつピストンリング等の潤滑オイルにより熱交換器が劣化するおそれのないスターリングエンジンを提供する。 シリンダ(22,32)と、前記シリンダとの間に気体軸受(48)を介して気密を保ちつつ前記シリンダ内を往復運動するピストン(21,31)と、前記ピストンに直接的又は間接的に連結され、前記ピストンが前記シリンダ内を往復運動するときに近似直線運動するように設けられた近似直線機構(50)とを備えている。スターリングエンジンのピストン機構をリングレス(ピストンリング無し)、オイルレス(無潤滑)の状態にして、摩擦損失を低減しつつ潤滑油による熱交換器の劣化を防止する。近似直線機構により、ピストンが近似直線運動するので、ピストンのサイドフォースが実質的に無くなる。サイドフォースの耐圧能力が低い気体軸受との組合わせが有効である。
